My comments about Holdan, Jay and Logan Scene

I admit that I normally fast forward through all the non-sexual talking and such without ever paying any attention to any of that whatsoever, and I only start watching once the hot stuff starts happening.

BUT, in this particular scene, because of all the discussion relating to how funny it was and everything, I ended up watching the whole thing leading up to when they started jacking off. And everyone is right, it was really funny!

After totally ignoring Holden, when I watched him interact with everyone else I agree that he is a really funny guy! Not only that, but he is also a nice guy too with the typical southern boy laid-back-ness which makes most southern guys ir-resistable to many of us. Not only that, but his accent is really hot too. So his personality, his sense of humor, his good natured-ness in spite of the fact he was literally being made fun of almost from start to finish, coupled with the fact that he was frightened and having to jack off in the middle of two seasoned guys who have obviously done this before (and he was apparently not even told that he'd be filmed jacking off with other guy for a gay porn paysite) has really softened my opinion of him, and the scene. Especially the fact that he is trying to earn money to help with his pregnant girlfriend.

I think the point has been established that generally speaking, we don't like jack off scenes and we especially don't like jack off scenes when we were thinking that it would be a full sex scene based on the preview pic that showed Jay, Holden, and Logan together. So of course we were all waiting with bated breath for a full sex scene with the three of them, only to be disappointed that it was only a jack off scene with absolutely no sex between any of them.

We've established that it's pretty much un-avoidable that there's going to have to be jack off scenes sometimes, and even though it's a fact that we have all learned to live with, it's part of having to get these guys introduced to the audience before they are ready to proceed on to the "next level" lol.

The fact that Broke Straight Boys updates more than once a week makes this fact acceptable, even though we'd rather that ALL the scenes are full sex scenes.

Hopefully, they will never again lead us to believe that there will be a sex scene based on the photograph.

DAVID, is it possible to give us some inkling of what will be going on in your preview blurb? Instead of a generic "You'll have to join us to see what they'll be doing", maybe give us a bit more detail. Like in the current "Upcoming updates" blurb which will be featuring Ridge and Josh, you clearly state "...Someone is going to get fucked. Can you guess who it is?" So the only way we will be disappointed is if the 'fucking' ends up being nothing more than Ridge shoving a Dildo up Josh's ass or something horrendous like that with no actual "fucking", even though technically that would still be a correct statement. By the way, and I have no idea what others' feelings are regarding this, but I think scenes where the guys sit there and shove toys up their ass are even less hot than jack off scenes lol.

I try to keep in mind though that we here in the forum are only a tiny fraction of the overall membership. It's not realistic to expect David or Mark to make major changes on the site based on the opinions of a few of us in here. We do however provide a microcosm and convenient sounding board of what the overall membership is feeling about issues of content and other matters. David and Mark still get tons of emails from other members whose opinions they have to take into account also.

In the case of this particular episode David seemed genuinely hurt and blindsided by the poor response on the part of the overall membership. And I felt bad for him. So we tried to explain to him some of our takes on it. At risk of beating a dead horse I will make a few final points on it.

It was not a horrible video at all. There have been far worse that fared much better in the ratings than this one. And without people getting into an uproar. That was one of the points that David tried to make and he was absolutely right. He knew that it would not be a 5 but he figured that if he threw Logan into the mix that it would pull it into the 3-4 range. If Holdan had done a solo video it probably would have gotten a 2.5 to a 3. The video didn't sink because we thought that Holdan was some hideous troll. He's not ugly. He's just average. And as a stand alone video this threesome scene probably should have gotten about a 2.8 to a 3.

The reason it was very poorly received was because people got angry at the letdown and disappointment. When the photo advertising the video shows one of our favorite models along with a cute and an average one we assume that we will have a hot 3 way to look forward to. Especially if it has one of our absolute favorites of the moment. If the caption in the photo had warned us not to expect a 3 way it would have gone over better. If it had said: Watch these 3 jack off together!... it would have gotten better ratings. But not a whole lot better. Because people would still be pissed to see Logan's talents wasted on a jackoff scene.

But when you combine the fact that people thought that they were looking forward to a hot 3 way involving Logan and then they got 3 models on the same couch with nothing interesting to do...it was a letdown. So people panned it out of pique. It was not really a commentary on the looks of the models or the quality of the camera work, etc.

It's amazing how different guys react to the same scenes. I love the "non-sexual talking", as this is where I get to see what the guy is like hanging out with his friends, or on a school campus, or perhaps playing ball or even at a bar or club with his buds. This is where I can begin to judge how hot a guy is, as real guy's I see in the street, or at the mall are fully dressed and usually talking about non-sexual stuff. These scenes establish if a guy is straight or bi or gay. I pay my monthly membership here because the site is supposed to be about good looking young "straight" guys.

I find the interviews and by play between the models, and with Dave can be very erotic. If the guy is hot, and has the kind of attitude that turns me on, it makes me anticipate the undressing, the jerking and possibly some contact between the models. If I was just into seeing good looking guys get naked and fuck each other, I would have joined one of many other sites. But I like "straight boys", and the opening scene establishes who they are. No complaints here, like I said above after all the discussion regarding this scene I went in and watched the whole thing including the non-sexual talking before they got naked, and it was hilarious! Holden was really funny, good natured, laid back, and downright funny and he took the whole thing in stride, even though he knew that he was pretty much being made fun of and he did the whole thing with a real sense of class in spite of the huge disadvantages piled against him. Plus, his Southern accent was completely genuine and was just downright sexy! I will probably start watching the non-sexual pre-sex stuff more carefully from now on.

I won't mention any other competitor paysites out there by name, but I will say I'm very glad Broke Straight Boys doesn't do what one of my least favorite paysites out there does (like I said I won't mention any names, but let's just say they charge like $44.00 per month for membership, they usually only update their site with 1 "action" scene per month, and their initials are SCM hehehe), and they usually devote about 50% - 60% of the entire scene doing completely boring, and non-sexual stuff before any of the action starts. Idiotic antics like naked finger painting using their always limp dicks as the 'finger', dressing up like cowboys and indians, trying to pop balloons with an arrow strapped to their limp dick, stupid and REALLY boring stuff like that.

Broke Straight Boys spends minimal time in the pre-sex banter stuff, which is cool because it always gives those of us a chance to 'get to know' the models before they get naked and start having fun!

I also love how the pre-sex banter sets the scene up too. Like in Erik and Ross' second scene, we learned that they both dated the same girl (not necessarily at different times, either!)
