Abe! I love your post! I hate solo's myself...I think solos are boring and we are not a solo site. Some sites can get away with just solos...but for Broke Straight Boys or what I like to film..solos are a bore. You are quite right about David having nothing to apologize for when certain shoots that don't go over as well as others. David works his butt off on a daily basis trying to keep us entertained. Again Centurion you're right about expectations being raised. A year or three ago this vid would have rated far higher. In some ways D&E can be the victims of their own success. My guess is that it is a relatively small percentage, and that the ratings are not truly reflective of all the member's opinions. Can Mark or one of the other staff members answer that question? I always vote - I think that it is a courtesy to both the models and David to quantify our opinion. I usually give a higher score if its got a low score, coz I feel sorry for them. Illogical? That's me. I think that scores out of ten would be more indicative tho'. I often feel that something deserves a nine or a 4, but the 3 - 5*s are just inbetween. My opinion again.

I'd be curious about that too.

I try to keep in mind though that we here in the forum are only a tiny fraction of the overall membership. It's not realistic to expect David or Mark to make major changes on the site based on the opinions of a few of us in here. We do however provide a microcosm and convenient sounding board of what the overall membership is feeling about issues of content and other matters. David and Mark still get tons of emails from other members whose opinions they have to take into account also.

In the case of this particular episode David seemed genuinely hurt and blindsided by the poor response on the part of the overall membership. And I felt bad for him. So we tried to explain to him some of our takes on it. At risk of beating a dead horse I will make a few final points on it.

It was not a horrible video at all. There have been far worse that fared much better in the ratings than this one. And without people getting into an uproar. That was one of the points that David tried to make and he was absolutely right. He knew that it would not be a 5 but he figured that if he threw Logan into the mix that it would pull it into the 3-4 range. If Holdan had done a solo video it probably would have gotten a 2.5 to a 3. The video didn't sink because we thought that Holdan was some hideous troll. He's not ugly. He's just average. And as a stand alone video this threesome scene probably should have gotten about a 2.8 to a 3.

The reason it was very poorly received was because people got angry at the letdown and disappointment. When the photo advertising the video shows one of our favorite models along with a cute and an average one we assume that we will have a hot 3 way to look forward to. Especially if it has one of our absolute favorites of the moment. If the caption in the photo had warned us not to expect a 3 way it would have gone over better. If it had said: Watch these 3 jack off together!... it would have gotten better ratings. But not a whole lot better. Because people would still be pissed to see Logan's talents wasted on a jackoff scene.

But when you combine the fact that people thought that they were looking forward to a hot 3 way involving Logan and then they got 3 models on the same couch with nothing interesting to do...it was a letdown. So people panned it out of pique. It was not really a commentary on the looks of the models or the quality of the camera work, etc.
