Well I watched the Long Beach BTS vid last night. For the most part I felt like I wanted the 20 minutes of my life back. lol It was mediocre I guess. It didn't give us anything really entertaining. Not every car ride has conversation worthy of being saved for posterity. Since Sha was driving on California expressways he couldn't be expected to be constantly thinking of what might make an entertaining video for the viewers.

A case in point was the guy in the rear passenger seat behind Sha. We never got introduced to him. For the whole video he was just this stranger (albeit a very cute and nice one) sitting in the back seat. If they ever said his name I didn't hear it. I assume he's a College Dudes model. I would have been interested in having him introduce himself a little bit. Things like his name, age and maybe sexual orientation along with confirmation that he worked for College Dudes would have been nice. I only mention sexual orientation with him because over at College Dudes there isn't the near obligation to be very coy about it like there is over here at Broke Straight Boys They have models who are openly gay and others who are bi or gay for pay.

I did enjoy the fact that Paul was telling us where they were driving because I was born in SoCal. As a toddler my family and I lived in Redondo Beach. Paul kept repeating the name Redondo Beach, which I found cute. :) Two years ago I took a trip out to L.A. and visited many of the same places they were driving through.

It's usually nice to see the models in unscripted moments, but this one was still a snoozefest for me.

Any update on a normal non update day, like Tuesday or Wednesday is better than nothing. I thought the stranger in the back would be from College Dudes as they normally bring a College Dudes model with them on pride events.
I hadn't even realized that there were two new BTS up for viewing until I read Tampa's post. I watched them last night and agree with Jon that any update featuring Sha and some of my favorite Broke Straight Boys'ers was fun to watch, both the car ride and the clips at the pride event.

Some of the BTS are highly produced with music and artistic camera shots, but I also like just watching the guys be themselves, chattering about everything and nothing, just like I was in the car with them, and hanging out at the booth as I did with Sha and last year's models in NYC.

It was nothing earthshattering or terribly compelling, but as a free bonus clip, I found it entertaining enough and I for one hope they continue to give us similar non porn scenes on the "off nights" of new Broke Straight Boys scenes.

Thanks for that Mikey. :)

You are so much more diplomatic than I lately. I also enjoy some of the less glossy BTS vids where the format is unscripted and the guys are free to just be themselves. It's times like these that we sometimes get an even better glimpse into their personalities. This just happened to be one of those vids where very little new was revealed to give us insights into the models. The overall entertainment value here was minimal. But as you say Mikey, any update on an off day without a porn video is better than nothing.

My review of the vid was written by a cranky person who's trying to recover from a broken neck, a bladder infection, and now a summer cold. Mix in some insomnia, and stir. lol Without the forum and all my friends in here, I really would be miserable. I've never hidden my love and admiration for Sha. In a vid like this I fully expected and hoped that about 90% of his attention would be focused on driving the California expressways and only about 10% of his attention, on the conversation at hand. I hope we continue to get more unscripted vids such as this one in the future. I merely meant to say that this particular one will not go down as one of my favorites.

The issue of having College Dudes models in the BTS vids could get kind of tricky. I think there would be negative feedback if College Dudes models were given too much attention on this site. I wouldn't want to see them given 20 minute solo BTS vids for instance. When the models are at the booth I'm fine with it when they introduce any College Dudes models by name and then the College Dudes model(s) either quickly or eventually wander away to leave us with just the Broke Straight Boys models. I think a little bit of cross-advertising would be tolerable if it didn't appear to be overdone.

In a situation like this vid in the car, it just seemed very awkward socially not to get introduced to a fourth cute model who didn't have the option of leaving or keeping quiet. Something like having College Dudes models give their name, age, maybe sexual orientation and a couple hobbies...and then letting the conversation get quickly to the Broke Straight Boys models, would make vids like this one flow more smoothly.

Just my :2c:

Oh come off it Tampa. They're hardly gonna hide the College Dudes model away in a trailer or a trunk. I think it having a model from another Blu Media sight was rather refreshing. Twas a pity that Sha didn't introduce him.

I agree, jon. Especially when in the past, CDude models were a prominent part of Pride events, e.g. Rob Ryder & Cole Gartner, for example.

With respect to the BTS itself, perhaps I would have enjoyed it if I could have understood more of what was said. For me the acoustics in the SUV were not amenable for my listening pleasure. Having said that, I could really care less about this stuff anyway. I watch because it's offerred.

I think we're saying the same thing Jon. You're right that people were okay with Rob Ryder and Cole Gartner in the past. All I meant was that a kitchen scene with Sha doing a solo interview of a College Dudes model for 20 minutes probably wouldn't be of much interest to Broke Straight Boys members. Who's the cranky one now? lol Sheesh. :001_tongue: If I believed that College Dudes models should be hidden away in shame away from the cameras, I wouldn't have suggested that they be given at least a brief introduction to us in the future. :thumbup1:

I agree Stowe that it is offered to us at no charge, and I watch because I enjoy getting a glimpse into the real boys acting like themselves among their peers, and not in a situation where they are being directed what to do or even what to say, as they are in the porn scenarios.

And the fact that these videos are free makes me feel that putting the 1-5 star rating system onto them seems a bit tacky, like receiving a gift and telling the giver that it may have been a poor gift, but perhaps that is just me perceiving it that way.

One of my favorite parts of these two BTS was when Sha said that it's going to get crazy here and Paul responded, "Nothing is crazy. After you do gay porn, nothing is crazy. Not a thing".

That seems to me to be a very honest reaction from a guy who has identified himself as being straight all of his life, and now sucks dick and gets fucked, eats cum and kisses other dudes to earn a living. I could see where that could desensitize him in other aspects of his life. It is a pretty radical thing for a straight guy to do even to earn a paycheck.

I have a feeling that Kellan was very funny, but it was hard to hear the guys in the back seat. :frown:

I just finished watching the Pride event BTS updates. I'm so excited to see the guys!

Any day Pau is chatting, it's a good day. I really enjoyed the banter and seeing the guys interact and get to know one another...less intimately. Can't wait for more BTS updates.
