I read this the same way as you, Ms. K. The point is that Rob is a great guy, who has entertained us on this site in his BTS and forum posts. We love having him here in those venues.

I am not in favor of it, and that is what I believe the gist of the perceived anti Rob Ryder discussion was about. I only recall one forumite blatantly saying that he does not like Rob at all, but just about everybody else loves Rob, but we want to view totally "newbie guys" here, that we can spin our own fantasies about.

I can only agree with both Ms. K and mikeyank. I might very well be obtuse but I agree with mikey in that I remember only one pereson who said a personally negative thing about Rob. I love Rob and have been one of his biggest supporters and fans. I on more than one occasion have said I think he is the best bottom in porn today. I don't know how many totally newbie guys we have on this site, I guess it depends on each of our perspectives on the fantasy of the site. I guess I set my expectations too high, for, although I enjoyed this scene, I was disappointed on several fronts. I expected the Kodi of his solo, playing to and flirting with the camera but there was none. A very wooden persona.
Perhaps a case of nerves since this, he says, was his first time fucking a guy. Having said that, his topping skills were quite good, although I would have liked to have seen some of the more sensuous hip action here that he demonstrated when fucking the bed in his solo. Rob showed his experience as a performer both in his oral and bottomming skills. As to the kissing, while I was not expecting the type and amount of snogging that Rob is use to on cdudes, there could have been better and, actually, there was. In looking at the stills there were several kissing pix that were better than the two pecks in the video. Also there was a whole sequence of stills where Rob was riding Kodi's dick that weren't even included in the video and they should have been, including kissing segments. I say they should have been included because the entire video was only 15 mins long, about five minutes shorter than usual. And of that 15, only 4 minutes of anal - and this was suppose to be an anal episode. In my mind, in a scene advertised as anal, fucking should be more than about a third of the scene length. There was little chemistry between the actors, but Rob did say they had just met, so perhaps not enough time to develop any. From the bts scene with Kodi and his bologna, he and Chad obviously have had a chance to bond (note Chad's post about how much he likes Kodi) so if we ever get a Chad and Kodi scene, I would think and hope that the chemistry between them will make the scene much hotter than this one was.

I gave it a 4 because, despite what I said above, they both sucked dick well, Kodi topped well for his first time, and Rob was his usual solid performer.

If I could give a grade for videography it would be a D. The scene was too short by Broke Straight Boys standards; for an anal scene there was not enough anal; a glimpse of a technician's butt was amateurish; and if what all the stills show is also captured on video, then the editing was poor because several good segments weren't even included, e.g. Rob riding Kodi and with some kissing to boot, and there was time to include them given the shortness of the scene.

Stowe you covered this perfectly. Except having seen both of these guys suck dick with passion, it was almost like they were told to cool it. I have taken the liberty of including and editing some of your posts above. I took a little time out to clear my head and take care of some things in my real life. The reason that I apologized so profusely for my earlier post was because parts of it were unkind. Perhaps some would consider them mean spirited against Rob in particular and also possibly Clay. For my style of writing and my normally decent diplomatic skill, for me this went over the top. I had a severe case of "Sender's remorse".

Namely I couldn't disagree that Rob could get the impression that we disliked him or assumed the worst of him. I'm glad that so many of you have stated how highly regarded he is here in the forum. And also that most of the controversy of his entrance revolved around the issue of bringing in professional models in general. Nevertheless he did not get a good welcome as he came aboard here. That's why I felt the need to apologize for anything I did, or might have by extension encouraged others to do, to dampen the celebration of his arrival here. The majority of us DO like Rob. Myself included.

The other thing that stuck in my mind was the fact that some new posters come in and say they think the forum is too negative for their liking. I try to avoid negativity because I hope they will stay around and post. With a 4+ rating obviously many people in the broader Broke Straight Boys membership liked this scene. They should feel welcome to come in and share that happiness with us. A post that is really negative, especially at the beginning of a thread, can scare off some newer and even older members who wanted to post happier thoughts.

As far as critiques of scenes go we shouldn't have to rave about a scene we don't like...just for the sake of being polite. If we don't give honest feedback then those higher up won't know what's working and what's not. I just felt like I could have expressed the fact that Rob appeared to have a cold, and that he and Clay both appeared to have an off day, in more diplomatic terms. It's always a balancing act of good taste as to how far we take our criticisms for those scenes we don't care for. Those were the reasons why I apologized.

AWFUL VIDEOGRAPHY for Kodi and Rob's scene...

The videography on this scene (once the fucking started) was AWFUL... I mean Kodi is a very young looking member, and part of the "turn-on" is his young looking face with attitude... so what does the videographer do? He uses the first part of the fucking to show their butts during the fucking where you can only see a glimmer of one face (this view always confused me anyway, because it could be two 40 year olds fucking and it would look almost the same) and then, he uses a top shot where you can only see the top of Kodi's hair during the whole thing.
