But then there are two points to make. The first point is that although Broke Straight Boys 1.0 did have a few such sob stories, it wasn't a defined by them. They were rare. Well I did not grow up in the Great Depression, I'm not quite that old. That was my parents' generation. But my experience has been there has always been a certain segment of the population of young straight males who for whatever reasons found themselves in need of money. It might have been a lost job, an unexpected expense or simply that they were traveling around form place to place and found that older gentlemen would pay them for what they had under their skivvies. Some tragicaly it might have been sustance abuse issues although I can't say any of the lads I have seen thus far look as though they fall into that category.
