Stimpy, my friend, you know that I am a big fan of Jimmy, but I do agree with perhaps 85% of your post. You are so right that the introduction, and perhaps overexposure of Jimmy came right after the seemingly interminable amount of "bottom of the barrel" scenes that David had put out finally came to an end. Apparently David knew that the sand in his timer was about to run out, when he gave us a slew of sub par models, including one who we learned was going through hormonal treatment in preparation to have a sex change operation.
We found out that "a change was being made", and that David was out and we were watching the final parcel of product that D&E owed to Blu Media to finish his contract. So those of us who remained and waited for the change to happen were both annoyed, and rather anxious for the "all new BSB" to emerge. and Jimmy became the face of BSB2. and the rest became history.
My 15% disagreement is that you characterized Jimmy's on screen persona as homophobic,
Re-reading this very thread, folks talk about how Colin said that he enjoyed working with Jimmy, and other than a recent post by Jason regarding his scene with Jimmy, that was the only negative model comment towards Jimmy that I can recall. To my way of thinking, no man could be completely straight and have sex with as many guys as Jimmy did and still does in his current gay for pay work. And I agree that his real persona at the events, and how well he got along with Sha, and his gay fans told me that he was in no way a homophobe. He is just a playful guy who was playing a role here.
But as I agree with most of your comments, and Jimmy is long off this site, it is all water under the bridge, but I maintain as a fourmite who has been here forever, Jimmy will rank as one of the most controversial models ever along with the late Mike Robbins, in regard to the reactions of the forum to them.
I'm surprised why bsb actually showed the alleged bottom of the barrel D&E films. It was gamble that didn't pay off because a lot of members including myself decided to take a break. Regarding Jimmy, well I've watched a few of his scenes and he's just average.
Well Mikey, I appreciate your willingness to concede many of the points of Stimpy's post. Jimmy has been well served by having such a staunch defender in here such as yourself.

So much of what I might say would become boring and redundant to long time forum members. But Stimpy's post did break some new ground. Stimpy speaks now of what so many of us knew back then but dared not say. Because we didn't want to state the obvious and encourage newer members to leave the site. Even back then we wanted the site to succeed. To do that, many of us had to refrain from stating basic truths about that period. In a historical context we can look back on this transition period, discuss it openly and be glad it's over.
I refer mainly to the episodes that David gave us before he left. Whether he purposely gave us bottom of the barrel episodes or not...then end result was the same. In fairness I suspect that many of those episodes had been held back to slip in at a later time. Until finally there was no more time left before the intro to the new site.
Blake mentions in his BTS vid with Rbar that Clay is forced to do this at times. Sometimes in spite of Clay's best efforts a scene turns out to be dud. It's not so awful that it should never be shown. But it's likely to rate below a 4. They've already spent alot of money on it. So Clay will decide to hold it back for the future and try to bookend it in the rotation between a couple of really solid vids. So if customers are disappointed with it, their attention is quickly shifted to the next one that they
are looking forward to. That's just a very solid and sound business practice. In spite of everyone's best efforts some scenes are not going to turn out well. We were seeing many of those types of scenes at the end of David's backlog here.
We've been over the homophobe argument countless times in regards to Jimmy. But Stimpy uses it in a different context here. I will always agree with others that Jimmy was not homphobic towards gays. As Stimpy alludes to here though (if I may put words into his mouth) Jimmy was homophobic towards the gay sex acts that he was being asked to engage in. I don't recall him ever jerking another model off to orgasm for instance. Probably because he told Clay that he wouldn't do it. So that was the end of it.
Jimmy was one of the few models here who rather than drawing new members to the site, actually ran members off. There were probably a few who saw him in teaser ads on free sites and decided to join up to see more of him. Because if you edit and splice bits of his scenes together you can show off all of his most attractive qualities. (Without showing the sum total of his work in the scenes.) He is a handsome and decent guy. I'll give him that much. And I wish him well in the future. Yet I believe he lost the site far more members (and money) than he helped the site gain.
As one of the members who's been around Forever... haha I don't think that
Mike Robbins (MHRIP) would be the best or only point of comparison to Jimmy. At least Mike was well loved most of the time by members. Overexposure and lack of change in his scenes caused his popularity to fall a bit towards the end. If I had to make my own comparison of Jimmy to another model, however imperfect that comparison would be...I would have to say it would be Dustin. (MHRIP) Especially towards the end of his contract with
Broke Straight Boys-1.
As to Jon's comments, I'd have to say that I am very happy to have him back with us.

He was greatly missed!
The last months of David's videos combined with the first 6 months of the transition, caused me real concern about the future of the company. I'm so relieved that the site has survived and prospered beyond those times. I wish all our men (and women) in Blu [Mark, Steve, Chuck, Clay , Webmonkey, et al.] a bright future with the site...and the company as a whole.
