I'm back for a few minutes. When you say rego do you mean an emissions test to make sure the car isn't polluting? Or are you talking about a renewal of the license or registration of the car? Where does Australia import most of its oil from? Is there much oil in Australia itself? Do they keep car ownership rates expensive to discourage driving? Or is it just a moneymaker for the state?

Car registration & it is very a money maker for the states
I think we import our & it is very much a money maker for the stateoil from the mid east
yes we do have our own oil but we export it all (very dumb)

Kodie, if your talking about renewal of vehicle registration, the annual rate can vary. I just renewed my license tabs for my 1998 Buick Century earlier this month and it cost me, I think $67.00 for a year. That includes part of this damn RTA (Regional Transit Authority) tax that goes to the three counties in the RTA area. Also, every two years, we are required to have our vehicle emissions tested and that usually costs about $15.00. As far as gasoline goes, we are one of the highest in gas prices in the US. Right now for regular unleaded fuel, I am paying $2.45 per gallon, and that is the cheapest.
