That thread was composed of a tweet every three or four seconds from 3 or 4 people maximum who exchanged observations like, "that little itch between my big and second toe has almost gone", to be answered by, "I'm thinking somewhat seriously about pulling my bike in since it looks like it might possibly rain." Popularity isn't like a hotdog eating contest where one person does more than the other three participants of something silly, it's where the most possible number of people (popular: of the people) rallies round and participates on a universal theme.
