Over the last couple of years some of my friends here have seen pictures of me and gotten to know what I look like through the BTS videos. If you haven't, I will tell you the most common word people use to describe me is "BIG". Since I was 15 years old I have been a big girl. I started gaining weight in secondary school and just continued on into my 20's and now I'm 30. I decided after doing so much travelling this last year that is was time to try and do something about my obesity. I have such a good time going to new cities and seeing new places but it is so hard when you are a heavy person. So after I got back from Southern Decadence last year I made an appointment with a weight loss clinic. And months and months later. I am super happy to say that in about 3 weeks I am going to be having life changing Gastric Lap-Banding surgery. I am so excited. It's a done deal now, all I have to do is wait. After years of dieting and trying every weight loss technique known to humans, I'm finally going to be able to do something that will actually give me the results.
I know that gastric banding is now quite common. From going through all the insurance hoops I know now that most insurance companies will cover you if you're just 50 lbs over weight or have a BMI of 40 or higher. It is absolutely mind-blowing what I have learned over the last year. So I guess I wonder if anyone here in forum land has gone through a weight-loss surgery?
Anyway. I'm overjoyed. I can't wait for this chapter in my life to be a distant memory and a new, healthy chapter to begin.
