Click this and select that you want to upload a photo from your own computer or it can be from another website which is what "URL" is for.

Enter the entire path of the URL and select the box to: ReRetrieve remote file and reference locally - This will grab the image so its on our servers, just in case the image is ever deleted from the other website.remote file and reference locally

It takes two steps for the best result

Once uploaded there's that ugly box around it. But with the second post, one no longer needs to upload the picture. For a second use of the same picture, like in this post, I only had to place the hyper link.

Also the picture can be placed above the text, because it's a hyper link. That's good! Now I need a place were I can upload photo's (with these boxes) and next I can use the hyper links to place these pictures the way I like.

PS: This thread looks like a great place to upload pictures in, I'd like to use in a thread elsewhere.

Quit playing with yourself Robert. haha :001_tongue:

Thanks so much for the tutorial Scorpio. I'm sure it will help many people who want to be able to do this but who didn't know how up till now. I did want to ask a quick question on this subject:

How does one enlarge the photos from the standard size? I don't know how to make the photos bigger like so many other posters seem to know how to do. :anyone:

Care to share how it's done? Rather than just showing the finished product? haha

I'm not very technical Robert. lol

But I have seen photos from Broke Straight Boys (and other sites or sources) blown up to larger sizes. I just don't know how it's done.

I often find pictures on other sites, that turn out to be HUGE when I post them here. I don't know how to make them smaller either.:)

Sorry.. That's not detailed enough to help me. I guess it involves the cut and paste method of moving long addresses around. Which I don't know how to do. How do you find the individual "address" of ONLY photos that are posted on other sites? Without posting just the link to the whole website? (Which of course you do not want.)

Thanks Robert. ;) I'll try it later when I have more time. We'll take this convo over to the "How to Attach a Picture" thread if I have more questions.

So let's recap on "cut & paste" First you select for instance a htpp:// address so that the text gets inversed. (picture at the bottom) Next you hit simultaneously the control button and the letter "C" for copy. CTRL-C

Next you click on the Insert Image button in the button-bar.

attachment.php

There you can paste the http:// address, by clicking simultaneously the control button and the letter "V". CTRL-V

Your next question was: "How do you find the individual "address" of ONLY photos that are posted on other sites? Without posting just the link to the whole website? (Which of course you do not want.)"

For that you have to click on the picture of your interest with your RIGHT mouse button. There you can select an option like view or show picture.

If you did that successfully, you'll see only the picture in your browser and often in the http:// address bar the link ends with an extension .jpg or .gif etc.

That "show picture" option does not work for me . It is not highlighted in bold black letters when I do the right click. Just about every other function of the right click toolbar is available to me but that one. So I can't get the individual address for the photo. Even the Broke Straight Boys scene photos do not show addresses other than the generic: http://members.brokestraightboys.com/

Any other suggestion for getting an address?

You've just got the "touch" Ms. K. This is the same thing I have been asking for a while Tampa,...we need to find us some "big ones" and put them out there...once we are done with them!:001_tongue:

What browser do you use? Ever tried this with a different browser?

Internet explorer... I haven't tried a different browser. I can save pictures to my computer just fine. I can attach some of those same large photos to my emails just fine. But when it comes to posting larger photos to the Broke Straight Boys forum all I get are the same tiny jpg size.

Oversizing Tampa

So Tampa, I tried it myself with Internet Explorer and... the function "Show Picture" is grayed out too.

A few years now, I have Firefox installed next to Internet Explorer and I seldom use Internet Explorer anymore. Google Chrome is also pretty good I read.

May your pictures go big anytime soon!
