I'm rather down this weekend because my best friend Michael has gone to America to work. Nevertheless we are keeping in touch on Skype and Grindr, which brings me to this question - How accurate is GPS ?- Grindr location works off that.

So today my friend is in NYC and he is 3339 miles away according to my Grindr which currently has an accuracy of + or - 213 feet. It will be interesting to see how far he is on Wednesday when he moves location to some place in Michigan, where he will be working.

[h=2]How accurate is GPS?[/h] Specifications for many GPS receivers indicate their accuracy will be within about 10 to 50 feet (3 to 15 meters), 95% of the time. This assumes the receiver has a clear view of the sky and has finished acquiring satellites.
Many receivers include WAAS capability, which can enhance accuracy in many parts of North America. But if you're moving around or in areas with less than ideal conditions, you'll probably find your receiver isn't using WAAS a good share of the time.
All things considered, you can usually expect to be within about 20 to 30 feet of the mark with most consumer grade receivers.

i just got a new phone and one of the first things i tested was the accuracy of the location function. it put me in the front of the house while i was in a back room. that was 30 feet, what is that? 9 meters. close enough to know i am home, just not close enough to know which room i am in. a drone strike would miss me. of course, military can get within 10 feet (3 meters).

Chinatown is about 8.5 hours from London.

The return flight from New York to London takes you only 7.5 hours, because of back wind.

My friend Michael heads off to Tampa country tomorrow. He said its 22 hours on a bus from NYC to Miami. I'm so jealous.

If people in ohio using it its dead on about the miles between the two. Rather kind of scary, but you don't always have to meet them lol

Latest update from my friend. His buddy who is in Miami got him a standby airline ticket on the cheap, so he didn't have to take the bus after all. On the GPS side, he is now over a thousand miles further in Miami than he was in NYC.
