George Mikan, an early NBA star, played in the early 1950’s for the Minneapolis Lakers, before they moved to Los Angeles. That is why they are named “Lakers”, as there are not lakes in Los Angeles, but in Minnesota. (Fun fact).![]()
That's a good guess buddy. But it's not correct. I also know that if anybody in here can figure this one out, it will be you. The high school team he played for was called "The Quakers". This guy was such a stellar high school athlete that he played not only on the basketball team, but on the baseball team. And he was apparently also a star pole vaulter on the track team.
Everyone is welcome to keep guessing. It will be a worthy and welcome surprise in the end.
