Hot Professional & College Sports Guys

George Mikan, an early NBA star, played in the early 1950’s for the Minneapolis Lakers, before they moved to Los Angeles. That is why they are named “Lakers”, as there are not lakes in Los Angeles, but in Minnesota. (Fun fact).

That's a good guess buddy. But it's not correct. I also know that if anybody in here can figure this one out, it will be you. The high school team he played for was called "The Quakers". This guy was such a stellar high school athlete that he played not only on the basketball team, but on the baseball team. And he was apparently also a star pole vaulter on the track team.

Everyone is welcome to keep guessing. It will be a worthy and welcome surprise in the end.

A few hints. He played basketball in high school in Indiana. It's said that whenever the refs gave a call he felt was especially bad or wrong he had a habit of throwing his glasses on the ground in disgust and muttering about the unfairness of it all. haha

That's my only guess. This was him when he played for the old Minneapolis Lakers.

You made me think of a famous television actor, Chuck Conners who played The Rifleman!

Before television he was a professional athlete and plated for both the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Dodgers.

And I just found this image of him too!

What if I told you the star high school athlete above was also a thespian who performed in the occasional school play?

I don't know if this picture will post. But I'll try. After 9 pics in a row it cuts me off from being able to post more for several hours. Very strange. Anyhoo...

This photo does not identify him in the crowd. But it's a pretty good guess he is the one seated in the center. Or is he on the bottom right? haha
