Flint again wassup lets get a new thread going!

As long as you commented again RSand, I will tell you that I thought that you were very cruel in your comments about Flint on this thread. He started this thread for us to ask him questions, and he was delightful, hanging out with us, joking and having fun. Did you not realize that he was going to come back to this thread to see our comments after his solo was released? Why weren't you more tactful in your comments, particularly on this thread?

After all he is a 21 year old kid who has never done porn before, who was totally respectful to us on the forum, and I don't think he deserved those kind of blunt, thoughtless comments about his physical appearance on this thread. To be truthful, when I read Flint's reaction last night before going to sleep, I was laying in bed thinking about how badly I feel for this very sweet kid.

And rude again. Make a scene review thread, if you want to talk about the scene!:cursing:

I agree. Why is it that some people can chose to be so cruel even when the hurt feelings caused by those actions are so evident? Do they really get some perverse delight out of doing this and taking the smile from someone's face? How sad for them.

Flint :001_wub: has been nothing but kind, gracious and respectful to every one of us in here. (As well as being very generous with his time) Plus, he's handled himself with class at all times. Is it too much to ask that people try to respond to him in like fashion?

Thanks guys for saying so eloquently all I wanted to say myself. I'm in total agreement with you, obviously.

I haven't seen any sign of bashing as far as Flint is concerned.

Maybe, because of his many postings before the actual solo, we were led to expect too much.

Now it seems that Flint could not stand the heat so he is getting out of the kitchen. Probably a good decision.

While, it's perfectly fine to dislike a scene, or even the performer, it's quite another to post comments about how distasteful you may find a part of someone's anatomy or their weight. Has no one ever judged you based on superficial things like this? Words can hurt very deeply, and it doesn't take but a few more seconds to get your point across without being disrespectful. Sometimes just changing a word or two can mean a big difference to how people read it.

The bigger concern is obviously this was made in a very public spot where the person being commented on was more than likely to read. If the models weren't reading and posting then it might not be taken as strongly, but in this case Flint did see and was hurt. And because of that he has stopped posting and may even give up this line of work. Some may be happy with that decision of his, others not as much. He had barely started out here and we may never get the chance to see where he might have gone. The new guys were so happy to interact on the forum days ago, even willing to take constructive criticism and advice on how to improve for the future. It isn't often you get to interact so directly with those making either fantasy or hot sex for you to enjoy. With just a few hastily chosen words a big difference can be made to either brighten someone's day or to darken it. I know which I'd try to chose.

I'm also not trying to tell anyone they have to keep quite if they don't like something - just try to be respectful, so that everyone gets the benefit of chatting with the models and helping to make this a fun place to be.

Once agin, right on point. Now even Graham isn't posting anymore they're buddies so I can understand it. It baffles me that some people found the need to critisize a new model based on his looks in one solo scene and on his threads.
I don't think everyone has the same tastes in men, in this case, models, but I don't go on the models pages I don't fancy and criticize their looks. So I certainly don't approve of those who do. That is just completely disrespectful.

You're absolutely correct of course, Milla. People's tastes in everything vary, but usually very widely in what they find attractive and/or sexy. I cried for days when Max left, but I know some folks probably didn't even notice. And, there's another model that a LOT of people on this site seem to like that I just can't understand the appeal (although I will say his personality has won me over, but I just don't find him as hot as most people seem to).

That said, if I did want to critic a model that I knew would be reading the post I'd always try to find a way to get my point across tactfully - or just move onto the next topic.

And, yes I have noticed that Graham hasn't been back to the forum for a few days. He didn't even get to see my avatar. :crying1:

See, that's exactly what I'll do too. There are some models I don't find appealing physically speaking but I don't post it where they can read it. Or I'll do it in a tactful manner.
Too bad Graham didn't see your avatar. I hope he'll check in soon and sees it!

Sorry Toby and Milla but I totally disagree. This issue with Flint is so biased it's unbelievable. There were two maybe three comments about Flints weight however, in the past people have commented on models features, whether they are ugly or pretty, thin or fat, etc etc - and hardly a hoot has been stated. It's only since the guys are coming online BEFORE they appear on the scene that a lot of members are falling in love with them and are taking a very much biased approach to them, insomuch that when they appear on screen they can do no wrong.

When a model appears within the forum, he does so with the understanding that there may be derogatory comments about his films and, as in this case, the comments focus on his body. It's a fair cop - you either like a model, dislike a model, or in some cases put in a few suggestions on how his looks or performance can be improved. That's all that has been done on this thread and if Flint cannot take this constructive criticism then he shouldn't have signed up to the forum.

While I disagree with you Jon, I have noticed some of what you comment on happening before. If I had been posting on the forum back then I probably would have commented also. I am torn by the situation with Lucas - he certainly seems to have brought some of that on himself, but he owned up to that and apologized - it can take a lot to do that too, so I am happy that he is trying to make a comeback.

You also mentions that a model comes to the forum with an understanding that there might be derogatory comments. If that were the case, then I doubt most models would ever post, and Mark would certainly never try to throw them into that situation. What a model should expect is honest, respectful opinions - and all that can be done without making hurtful comments.

I guess I just joined at a moment when the situation seemed wrong to me, and I and others wanted to make a stand to ask people to think about making a change. Forget what has happened before and just make a fresh start. I for one *LOVE* the fact that the model post here and want to be able to interact with them, but if forumites keep making them feel unwelcome that probably won't continue.

You don't have to change your opinions, I think it would just be a nicer place if we were all respectful of each other. Maybe I have my head in the clouds.

I don't think Flint knew what he was getting into and apparently got no coaching from management that there were going to be some criticism about any of his scenes. After all, the young man is only 21 y/o and has probably not experienced much criticism. In other words he was blind-sided by all of this.

These guys have entered the world of modeling in amateur status. Their bodies as well as their performances are subject to constructive criticism by the paying members mainly due to this forum. Most other sites have no forum. Like it, stay....don't like it, go. We have the privilege of voicing our likes/dislikes to not only management, but also to the models who have chosen to participate here.

However, as Toby and probably others have suggested before him, there is a way to get your message across without seeming mean spirited or just plain blunt. It is not a requirement to be a nice person while posting, but tactfulness seems to go much further in getting your message across. I am slowly learning that one, myself.

I don't really think Flint was "bashed" here. I just think that he didn't have a clue as to what this business is all about. He gained the praise and admiration of a lot of members for his kindness and willingness to get to know us on a personal basis and we returned that kindness in 200+ posts with him. A lot of us (me included) fell in love with him on that perspective only. Again, I think management might have learned something with this new innovation of meeting the models before airing any of their scenes.

I completely agree Robb that Flint was blind-sided. And I agree that management should reconsider having models post before they are ever viewed. I like the idea better of watching a model and then meeting him on the forum.

Well said Tobey.

It used to be that we could say anything we wanted about a model's scenes because they never read the posts anyway. Now Mark is trying to get as many models to post as possible. That's a good thing. Right? Mark is doing this with the best of intentions to try to improve the membership experience. I don't fault Mark for not prepping the models beforehand. Ideally he shouldn't have to

The other side of the coin is, How can Mark sell the models on participating in the forum when a few harsh and rude comments can hurt a model's feeling like this? He shouldn't have to warn them about a feature of the site (the forum) that he's so proud of.

Unfortunately, no matter how well intentioned most of us may be in here and how tactful we may try to be with any critiques we may have of models or scenes...any random person can come in hiding behind an anonymous screen name, drop a verbal grenade, and then haul a** out of here. Thereby making the whole group of us look bad and leaving the rest of us to try to clean up their mess.

It's not fair. Yet there's little we can do to stop it. :/

I find this situation with Flint a God awful dilemma.:frown:

A a human being I really feel for a young guy who has put in quite an effort to communicate with us and patiently answered our questions and gave us some laughs in the process, but...

I'm also all for expressing honest opinions, because it is an integral part of the forum, not nasty comments, but honest critiquing of a scene gives the forum spark and interest.

I don't believe Flint was verbally 'bashed' on this thread, yes there were some mean spirited comments, but I've read much worse on other threads without management intervening.

So, all in all where does does leave us with models participating on the forum before a scene? I honestly don't know. I do still think it's a great idea but maybe it needs to be done in a different way...

That is where I am sitting too, Grace.

I didn't think his solo was amazing but i still liked it and really hope to see him back. I think once he's paired with another model that shows him the ropes I have high hopes for him. I also don't like that some comments scared him away and really hope it doesn't effect him doing anymore scenes. I hope mark tells him he's got lots of anxiously waiting fans.

I said that a few days ago only to chastised but we move on. Robb "Buckeye1" hit the nail on the head with his previous post too but I'm getting the impression that our views aren't taken too seriously these days. Returning to Flint, maybe his next scene(s) will have good reviews so that he can see for himself how the forum works under normal circumstances.

See, out of the ashes the Phoenix doth rise. I'm glad that your sweetheart liked your solo and it obviously had benefits afterwards. Looking forward to your next scene.
