Well with CJ it's complicated. For those of us who have been around for a while and watched his progression over a 2 years time he started off really strong. With lots of potential for development and reinventing himself. Unfortunately for him as a model his looks peaked very early in life. Combine with that the fact that his performances sputtered out towards the end.

We had already seen him bottom time and time again and we got bored with it. Not only that, but it looked like HE got bored with it as well. I think he was a straight guy who had a fetish for anal stimulation. Hey, many of us have our own kinks. You know? We've all got them. haha Doing the porn was a twofer for him. He got his fetish indulged and he made some money.

If you look at his performances from the 5 guy outdoor orgy scene (11/8/08) and go BACKWARDS...you see some primo quality scenes from a new guy. After the orgy scene you see a slow and steady decline. So it's like we are talking about two different models. Before and after.

The people who speak highly of CJ in here for the most part remember him fondly from his earlier days. Those who know him only from his later stuff will usually have a lower opinion of him. That's why people tend to be so polarized about him. At least in my opinion.

Now you talk about CJ the PERSON and he gets rave reviews from his co-workers. You ask Logan who his favorite models were to work with and he quickly says CJ. (Among one or two others) You ask Diesal who his favorite models were to work with and he says CJ and Mike R. Or Mike R and CJ. haha (Among a few others) So on a personal level many of the guys really really like CJ. Not just because they liked working with him in scenes, but because apparently he's a really good guy.

Echo your sentiments there Tampa, especially the last paragraph. In the end people got fed up with CJ's monotone performance and don't give a fuck attitude, similar in a way to Dustin. It is not until we hear such comments from other models as you have quoted, or seen such touching videos and comments made following Dustin's death that we really get to understand who these guys are in real life.

Maybe we should adopt the policy of treating the models like a person first then as a model second. Then maybe in some cases our comments may not be so harsh.

I don't have a "favorite" episode really... As long as the guys FUCK, it's all I'm asking. I don't watch the "jack off" and "sucking" episodes. Absolute boredom for me.

The jury is out on this one. There are many favs of mine and some would surprise you. One of my all time group of films is the Holden series. Sure it did not include the best looking guys on the site but what a great story it was. Holden was the star of the show and this series typifies this site to me.

The other two models with Holden was his buddy Jay, whom I love, and the delightful Logan. Although Jay and Logan did a duo it was a jerk off only however, Logan did get to fuck Jay in the trio with Fernando.

I would love to see more of Jay and Logan too.

I separate this into two categories Jon. Treating the models as people first is fine talking about the behind the scenes interviews, and watching them at events, and when they join in on the forum and trade banter with us here. They certainly deserve to be treated with respect.

However when a person chooses to enter a public profession, such as acting, politics, professional sports, etc., they have to understand that taking criticism along with praise goes along with the territory, (including their paycheck). So if an actor is a great humanitarian who is loved by all, and he makes a motion picture that is a real clunker, are the critics obligated to rave about the film, when in their heart they knew it sucked?

CJ and Dustin are both guys that I would have loved to hang out with, if they were cool with an older gay man "chilling" with them. And I would have been charmed by them even in the latter part of their professional career's here at Broke Straight Boys, but in the porn world, by their last number of episodes, I was bored with their work, and their looks had deteriorated for a porn site. I think that one of the real fun parts of being on the forum is to watch a new update, and then watch how the forum dissects and criticizes or praises it.

I would expect that if any of the models actually read the message board, that they understand that the criticism is nothing personal, just as Tom Cruise or Tom Brady understand that a bad performance will be panned, and they can handle a bad review. It doesn't mean that they are not a good person.

I suspect that the number of models that read the forum message boards are very few. I also suspect that some of the models that one gets on this site, most for just a small period of time, don't give a damn about what we think, but only for the few greenbacks that they get.

Regarding people who enter the media world and accepting criticism - there is a lot of difference between criticism and insult. And in the past some remarks made by members and by certain management, border on insult. Name calling and insulting a models looks is, in my opinion, not going to benefit anyone. In fact, if potential models see this, it may well be a put off.
