Be careful. Get to a well trained acupuncturist have them surround the draggon. They will know what to do. Go on line to Wing Lam Kung Fu Federation order the Dit Da Jow. It is serious medicine. It translates as a little bit of this and a little bit of that. However; this is a real Saholin formula used in traditional Shaolin Iron Palm training. It is great for reducing inflamation and swelling very quickly. Also, Make a rice pack. If you mix a batch of rice with a 1/2 cup of extra water on a slow simmer add safron at the end (two pinches) then mix 10 drops of whit flower oil in that batch of glutinus rice. Let it cool until you can put your finger in it without burning. Use hot and cold therapy with the rice pack as the heat. The safron is an anti coagulant. The heat allows it to be absorbed through the skin. This can be reused for up to three days. This combination should cut your recovery in time half. Bless your heart take care.

Can't wait to try this! Have only been to a chriorpractor (and traditonal doctors) to this point. I've never been to an acupuncturist before, though, I have no problems with a first time.
I'll try the 'rice pack'. I've have 'cooked' with many herbs, but have not heard of 'flower oil' before. I'll search online to see where I can find it.
I have almost thought of going back to my 'Primary Care' doctor, however, don't believe he will have a solution except surgery. I had torn cartilage in my left knee (injured when working out in Tae Kwon Do) two years ago, and don't look forward to surgery on my right knee. I just know I need the focus, fellowship, excercise and 'just to get me out of the house'! My own impression is my knee is injured, but not enough to warrent surgery. I trust my instuctors and at times, have given a killer massage to counteract the pain.
My plan is to go to one class on Tuesday, rest, stretch, 'rice' my knee, and if I'm up to it, go to class on Friday. I plan to find an acupucturist and depending on the pain, will go to them or my doctor. I just know I need to continue practicing.

PS. I know this isn't following the subject line, but it's just a good place to post for the 'mood' I'm in....apologies!
