Wow!

That MTV segment was something! It's like I said in a recent post, American society is still very judgemental about homosexuality, porn, and anything they don't understand. And, if they can't understand something, they judge and want to hide it away, as if it will really go away. Yes, our society has made great strides in acceptance, but we still have far to go. Of course, that is just my opinion.

And then there is the flip side. Gays who watch straight guys filming "gay for Pay", and insist that the straight guy has got to be gay! And nothing can change their minds. Many gays can't accept that a straight guy might actually only be in porn, for the money.

Which attitude is worse? Or, is it just different sides of the same coin? That coin being, acceptance.

The whole topic of gay-for-pay makes my head hurt. When I try to make sense of it, I'm only left with more questions. Primarily, I wonder how str8 can a guy be to have sex with other guys? But I've concluded that people are on a scale of gay to str8, and those str8 guys in the gay industry are NOT at the far end of heterosexuality. That doesn't mean they're gay, it just means they aren't SO str8 that the idea of gay sex makes them want to vomit. So, I'll accept the generic answer that they really are str8, but there are varying degrees, just as there is with gays. But don't get me started on how these gay-for-pay guys have, for the most part, ruined the quality of gay sex on film. There are some exceptions, but as a whole, gay porn ain't what it used to be. And with the introduction of male enhancements, like Viagara, there is now a flood of "str8" guys in gay porn with no end in sight.

How right you are! I have always contended, that only a very small percentage of the population are exclusively straight, or exclusively gay. It's like black and white, very few pure in that color, the remainder are a much larger segment of grey, varying from black to white. It would be so much easier if we just didn't have labels, and want to compartmentalize every man as one thing or the other.

That's so funny. I watched that same video when I was just starting out in the business. It seemed to help provide some sort of feeble attempt of justifying what it is we porn stars do for a living lol. It was at least enough to convince me to do a scene with another guy on camera haha

Couldn't have expressed it better myself. But what I have learned to do over time with people that don't believe that I don't enjoy gay sex is let them think what they think. As long as the ladies don't think I'm gay, then those are the only people worth convincing lol

I found the video very interesting. I am also of the 1 to 10 scale because I believe that a lot of our sexual identity has been placed into categories by religion, straight, cool, gay burn in hell. If it wasn't for that more people would be "I prefer girls but when the mood gets me a cock sounds good too." without guilt. No more straight guys looking on Craig's list for a low down hook up. Then I tried to play role reversal and ask myself "What one thing I would not do (other than hurt another person or break the law) for ten thousand dollars. I'm still thinking, the offer will never present itself, so I guess I'll never know. Do I think that gay for pay actors are mostly closeted gays no, I just hope that doing that profession does not turn on any internal self-hate which will lead to drugs to get through the scene and life.
