Sha has answered that question; but I'm still curious as to why. I then went on to say that each model has a choice to use a condom or to not use a condom. When they make these choices, we certainly don't pressure them to do the opposite or even question their choice. (that should give you your answer).
I also explained that Broke Straight Boys does try to even out a bit the condom vs bareback scenes, so this also plays a factor in it.

Yes, that does give me an answer. And the motivation for that choice on the part of either model is known only to that model.

BUT, Ricky then tells Sha that he is gay just 24hours after the solo, so they decide to shoot this scene just one day after the solo. This would not be sufficient time for both guys to get tested and so condoms are used.
