Sha has answered that question; but I'm still curious as to why. I then went on to say that each model has a choice to use a condom or to not use a condom. When they make these choices, we certainly don't pressure them to do the opposite or even question their choice. (that should give you your answer).
I also explained that Broke Straight Boys does try to even out a bit the condom vs bareback scenes, so this also plays a factor in it.

Yes, that does give me an answer. And the motivation for that choice on the part of either model is known only to that model.

Given that his last 5 scenes prior to this one was BB and that he chose to do this with condom, if you know or can discern that his choice was motivated by a belief that a gay guy is more susceptible to HIV than a straight guy, then you should take that opportunity to educate him to the facts of that issue.
