Buffering

Do any of you guys know what this is? I can't watch the endings of Broke Straight Boys or BFT episodes anymore without the scene going into a kind of stop-action sequence with this buffering. I never had this problem before.

This is an interesting situation. I believe its your available bandwidth. You can test at speedtest.net. Is there anything unusual going on in your local environment to suddenly create an issue? Are you sharing the network with others? Using WIFI and if so, are you in a spot where your signal is strong? Network shared by other users or equipment? Your ISP throttling your use? Your pc have enough resources or is the disk drive going crazy near the end of the movie?

Each of the sites mentioned use two independent hosts and networks suggesting it is a localized constraint. While the note didnt say whether streaming or downloading was involved, Ill infer downloads as BFT only offers downloads (delivered as a progressive download, which is not the same as streaming). For best results, saving the download in full and watching it after it is completely saved to your computer is the best (and recommended) way to go with download. You can try to watch it as a download is delivered but this is not the intended delivery. Downloads do not come with the same dedicated resources to ensure quality playback. Watching a download as it comes down will be a mixed experience and highly sensitive to local conditions.

For those that would like a primer on the difference between streaming and downloading, this might be useful:

Streaming uses thousands of servers across the world and picks the closest server to you so usually buffering issues are from your internet connection. I don't have any issues and have never had many issues with streaming. I would also try it at different times of the day and see if that makes any difference.

Half of the Denver BTS videos played great for me, the other half buffered, from about 2-4 minutes in.
