This is my first time to start a thread! I had some random thoughts and questions. Can anybody help?
1. What was the very first Broke Straight Boys scene? Who were the models? Is it still available?
2. Has anybody seen a Broke Straight Boys model in public purely by chance? Did you have a conversation?
3. Does a model's popularity rating depend on the number of members who add him to their "My Favorites" list? (If so, then please help me get Damian's rating up!)
4. I get the impression the guys are well taken care of at the house in Colorado and on the set. From the Behind the Scenes I get the feeling that the management team is kind to the guys, and they have fun together. I do hope that is the case.

I may think of more things later but just wanted to start with these. Thanks to anybody with answers, other questions, and comments. I'm nearing my 100th posting in the forum so thought it was about time to start a thread.

As to your first question, just go to Episodes (top, left when you open Broke Straight Boys) then click on "oldest to newest." There you have it.

I remember someone long ago saying they had met a model while walking around during a Market Day. Of course many members have met and talked to models during various appearances.

Adding a model to your favorites does not add to their "popularity". Scenes are rated but models re not.

Others can attest to your 4th question. But your description does seem to be the case.

Some of us have been lucky enough to meet models at events and have conversations. Nobody posting in the forum has accidentally met a model in public that I can recall.

3. Does a model's popularity rating depend on the number of members who add him to their "My Favorites" list? (If so, then please help me get Damian's rating up!)

Blake told us a while ago that a model's rating on his model page (1-5) is used as a gauge of popularity and is used as a factor in how much work they will be given. So with Damien for instance you want to give him a 5 on this page. http://members.brokestraightboys.com/modelpage.php?id=198

I have always heard that Broke Straight Boys and Blumedia takes very good care of the models. They are well fed, well cared for and not used and abused like some other sites out there.

Not quite true, silvercamel. You can go to: http://members.brokestraightboys.com/models.php and then click on an image of a model. Once you get to the individual model's page, you can rate them there.

I know I can for each of his scenes, but there is an overall rating right next to his picture. I don't know where that number came from. Oh well, I will continue to enjoy him and know that others enjoy him too.
I get the impression that prospective models send their pics and profiles to Broke Straight Boys Then they are reviewed and some are called immediately to come for a shoot and solo. I imagine some back out; others come and do a solo and never return; others become semi-regulars and regulars. Then Broke Straight Boys calls them back from time to time for more scenes. In some cases the models who are truly in need of money call Broke Straight Boys for a return engagement. I just wonder if care is taken to pair models together or if it just depends on who is at the house or available at any given time. I also wonder if guys indicate what they are and aren't willing to do, for example kiss or bottom. We used to know that bottoms got paid more--David would bargain with them on camera. Is that still the case? The whole thing is intriguing. I love the site and believe the owners/managers want to be classy in their choice of models, scenes, and what viewers want. Again, just a few more random thoughts.... Thanks again to all of you for responding with information.

The five stars next to his picture allow you to cast a vote for him as a model overall, regardless of the ratings of his individual scenes. Click on the 5th star and you will have cast another vote in Damien's favor. That overall model rating is very good for getting an idea of a model's popularity. And as I say, we've been told that it is used as a factor (among others of course) in deciding whether to bring back certain models for more work.

For instance a very well liked model may not fare well in the ratings of some of his scenes for reasons out of his control. Maybe the viewers don't like the other model(s) he's paired with in a scene. Maybe there are some bad camera angles. Or maybe the direction or choreography of the scene is just not to the viewers' liking. In those cases even some very popular models may get lower ratings for their scenes. So the overall rating on the model pages is another way of expressing how much a particular model is liked (and wanted back for more work) by the membership.

WoW! You and I share a certain "intrigue" of how this all works! How refreshing! I've found the answers to many of these same questions over time through reading the threads of the forum. After a while, once you get caught up, following regularly, many blanks fill in themselves (so to speak). It's so all encompassing! You've been a member for a while! Just starting to participate in the forum? How cool! I started out the same way! Welcome!!!

I checked out some of the models' pages and clicked on the 5 stars. It looked like they took my vote/rating because they blinked. But when I clicked on the stars on Damian's page nothing happened. Would somebody please check to see why I cannot give Damian the 5 rating I want to? Thanks again to all of you who responded to this thread. I do wish we could have more model interviews like the one with Ian. It's fun to get to know something about the guys who entertain us.
