Broke Straight Boys TV - Worth the wait

In the 44 minute episode one of the guys say they get hundreds of applications a day, I mean really, if that was the case why so many repeat guys?

Even in a non porn related business or industry, just because there are many applicants, doesn't mean every applicant qualifies for the job? Why would this any different?

I was also a bit taken aback by the "hundreds of applications a day" line, for as I look at the list of new models over the last year, I wonder if these are really the cream of the crop that were selected. And after many complaints regarding the quality of recent models, Mark did tell us that they hired more than one new talent scouts to find better models, so I find the 100's of applicants remark a bit disingenuous.

I would imagine you could rule out a large percentage of apps everyday as fake, to old, etc., and lets be honest, if they are trying to find guys that we tell them they want, we give them a very narrow field to pick from, we want a Paul, Damien Kyle, JJ, Adam, Jason, lololololol...now try and find that everyday in new applicants.....lolololololol.....but I agree..."hundreds a day" seems a little over the top.....

Really?! In this "Electronic Age" that we live in? I actually know of a local business owner who works from home. He handles all of the administration aspects of his business along with his wife. They do applications online and he said he literally gets 2-300 inquires and applications from college students and or high school students, pre college, looking for work or apprenticeships. So, I guess based on that, I didn't find the number out of proportion. But, apples and oranges...as they say!

I believe the applicant numbers can be quite real, and many factors and processes would eliminate a lot of them. Then not to forget the ones that have cold feet and do no shows, or accept and then don't bother replying. The other as seen in the video how many models show up to the house and freak and don't even get to do there first seen. All these variable are realistic for a straight guy going into gay for pay. and not forgetting that we can sometimes be a very picky audience, so they are trying to make us happy as well (Just saying)

I work at a grocery co-op with a 9 store chain. I have a friend who works in the human resources dept and she said they get on the average at least 2000 applicants a week. Whether by mail-in, email or faxed resumes. As a smaller chain we have higher wages and better bene's so most of the applicants are from bigger chains like safeway etc. Now we're talking about grocery, so I can see the porn business and Broke Straight Boys getting that many app's a day from guys thinking that decent money to fuck on film why not. Hell I'll do a couple of scenes if the money's good. Maybe a train with Damien Kyle and PC :pornshoot:

Well if the clips says 100 odd applicants a day, there must be a hellova lot of ugly guys over there.. Come on get real. Judged on the number of quality models that we have seen in 2014, that must be incorrect. I don't watch the show as it is not over in the UK, but some of the clips that we've seen on here probably go back a few years. Maybe they're talking about then..

Jon, you are often more blunt than I, but that is exactly my point. Let's say it not hundreds, but exactly 100 applicants per day, which would make for 36,500 guys per year applying, and if we saw the "cream of the crop" in the newbies introduced in 2014, there is something very wrong going on. :right:

Can anyone name 10 (active) new working models from 2014 ? Out of 36,500 applicants. Just wondering..

I would have to say you would be hard pushed to get to 10 lets see, Vadim Black (16 scenes), Tyler (21 scenes), Brody (9 scenes), David (4 scenes) , Zak (6 scenes) all the other newbies either have done there solo's only with exception to Jaycee who has now completed his 3rd scene.

I thought the first program was a great introduction. I too depend on U-tube and wish I knew when the other shows will air. Mark, you were right when you told me that this show would answer my questions on doing a behind the scenes with you. Nicely done!
Regarding everyone questioning the 100's of applications, let me share my 2 cents worth. My company takes in thousands of applications weekly, they get screened at an HR level with those the survive coming to the store level. As A Manager I would be part of the final interview process, which for our store could be in the low hundreds per week during the Holiday season. I would reject over 90% of them, some of whom I don't know how they survived round one.

As for Broke Straight Boys, I decided to check out how they do it. At the top of the page you can go to modeling and read about what it takes. I went one step further and entered in some basic information to see the application (WHICH I DID NOT FILL OUT, SO DON'T GET EXCITED). I did this to see what is asked and used to screen applicants. Lots of basic questions where live, websites, etc. Then age, height, weight, cock; size thickness, pubic hair (all to none). Desired work: solo, male/male duo, male group, available days and previous experiences.

Then they ask Optional information: hair/eye color, ethnicity, sex preference, position (top, bottom, both), mannerism, HIV status, body build, t-shirt size tattoos, piercings, Waist, inseam and shoe size. cut/uncut. body hair (where) facial hair. How find site and what opportunities do they want and then a place to add photos.

I could have included a high school photo and bam, I might have made the cut. However, I can readily see how many hundred or thousands of applications can get filled out. ANYONE can apply. Then comes the screening process and I am willing to bet that over 90% don't get to second base. Maybe 5% get to third base and the few that survive include Tyler and Brody, Vadium, Rodan, Ian and so on make it home. I made it to first base (application) and maybe with my HS photo perhaps to 2nd, after that the truth would come out.

So my point is that I do believe that the application process does allow ANYONE to get through round 1 which could be in the hundreds. If you had the potential to earn $50,000 or more per year (which is what they say top models can make) you can see why there are many applications. What I shared with you is something any of you can check into yourself. After asking for a few brief basic questions, I got to the application page. Then closed the page and came back here.

It is easy to question and/or criticize what we may hear or read. So I went on a hunt to see if I could find answers. Mark, I hope I did not go too far sharing this, but since it was on the site and available I used it.

Live Long and Prosper,

Vicekid
