Erotic Misadventure
Let me qualify my post by saying that I am a fan of Austin "Foster" Grant and Tyler "Babyface" Evans. I find them both, Austin with his overall golden tan and sinewy texture and Tyler with his pearlescent pastiness, to be gracious, giving, and ideal to work with. It is a pleasure to watch them, and their development over the past 9 months.
For those of you that have watched the April 5th episode, you know from whence I speak when I say that episode was filled with raw sex and emotion (read text above in brackets). It is therefore with sadness that I watched the current episode and found the basic mental, emotional, and sexual elements lacking. There was no mutual foreplay, as noted in an earlier post, that would normally happen in an episode. It was one way or the highway that typified this episode. Let's get it done, and they did. Overall the episode lasted 15 minutes, with intercourse lasting a mere 8 minutes. If this wasn't a bim-bam thank you sam, I don't know what was. I had to put a coat on because it was so cold, although I will give Austin credit for trying to warm it up at the end. But it was too little too late. The illusion and aura of an erotic expectation turned into an almost autoerotic misadventure.
May I mention as an aside, the narrative and the still photos did not match the episode. Where was the standard backside shot of Austin (shown in the still photos) and the different position of Tyler with his legs on Austin's shoulder (also shown in the still photos and both mentioned in the narrative). Editing anyone??
With the known qualities of the film (or lack thereof) it would have been more prudent to have put this episode out right away. As a member I have seen both young men progress and evolve into the polished performers they are today. Both young men achieving a following that will never cease to amaze. This episode, shot 9 months ago and aired today, I feel, did them both a dis-service.
In closing, before I suffer the slings and arrows of mock indignation, realize this is an open Forum. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether other members agree with it or not, each member should be treated with respect and courtesy.
Gentlemen, Start Your Emotions!
Once again, Richard takes his cue from lil Richard to comment on the yet to be seen upcoming episode of Tyler and Austin.
The April 5th 2008 episode of Tyler and Austin was hot, hot, hot! It had all the elements for an exciting sequel....not to be missed by anyone who had seen the first part. Feelings, emotions, heat of passion, the wanting to do more, save for the uncertainty of the moment, and a true look into the eyes of the boys themselves. Again, all the elements that would make for a blockbuster on the big screen.
The posts dictated more, more. I cannot verify that statement because the posts covering that time period must be in archives, as the current posts only go back to October. Still, to this day, people mention the episode and wanted more. If the Broke Straight Boys site has a hit meter on the episodes, that particular one should or could have been the highest rated, by hits, of any episode put up for viewing.
I would assume the upcoming episode of Tyler and Austin was made within a week of the last shoot done in April of 2008. Why would an outstanding producer/director, seeing the passion and connection, waste 9 months trying to recapture the moment? And if it was shot within a short period of time after the initial shoot, again, why was it held for 9 months?
Myself, like all members of Broke Straight Boys are waiting with bated breath, a pregnant like expectancy, hoping against hope that this episode has all the prurient elements....without heavy editing.... that will make this a great episode.
