The Yankees are a NY team. They do their Spring training in Tampa. The Rays are a Tampa Bay team. They do their Spring training elsewhere in Florida. Steinbrenner was a resident of Tampa and made his fortune here as a shipbuilder in our port. He has a varied history but has always been revered as one of Tampa's greatest contributors to our community. Here is the Wiki link to Steinbrenner's history:

Something like someone saying, "I feel like shit now." or "I don't give a crap about anything right now." Not having any enthusiasm or energy to do anything else. Wake up in the morning all bright and perky and someone or something does or says something to burst his bubble.

Thanks Louis, but as a longtime rabid Yankee fan I am aware of all that. For many years I went to spring training in Fort Lauderdale, and was in Tampa in 1996, which was the opening of the spring training facility, which was known as Legends Field, until George passed.

I guess I should have said that I find it ironic that the Yanks are in Tampa, while Tampa is in St. Pete.

But thank you for the great pics of Steinbrenner Field. I haven't been down to spring training since that initial year in 1996, which was also Joe Torre's first year as manager, and Derek Jeter's first year as starting shortstop. It was a long time ago.

Also If we say "I'm pooped" it's not a scat reference. lol It's just slang for being exhausted (usually physically but sometimes mentally also), being wiped out, running on empty, worn down, etc.
