Why not borrow models from other blumedia sites?

There are many complaints, I made some myself, about the looks of the new models. Blumedia is a porn empire. Just look at collegedudes247 and you see the most beautiful young men, go look. Look any number of other sites and there are plenty of good looking men on them doing everything. Why not borrow some models from another blumedia site that has better looking models or hire new Broke Straight Boys models from the same source where the other sites are getting the good looking ones?

I have looked at the link on the site where prospective models are told a long and strict list of qualifications. They are told that Broke Straight Boys, College Dudes and another Blu site are only looking for models who do not have shaved pubes (except I presume along the scrotum), which I assume means no stubble that would cut lips or poke an eye out. :) Also that they have "zero to minimal tattoos", no piercings, etc, etc, and that they not be sunburned. So you do wonder why some of these newer models were hired or used in scenes at the times that they were if they were all told the rules.

But back to Loganbroad's question I do agree that some of the models from the old site could be effectively used on the new one. There are some models however who were overused on Broke Straight Boys 1.0 and would feel like a step backward for a "new" site trying to start fresh. So it's a difficult balancing act for higher ups to decide about any particular model(s) they might bring back. If they brought back any at all...

LB is right though that there are other very attractive models already in the Blu empire other than Broke Straight Boys 1.0. But again how many of the experienced Blu models would pass the straight believability test on the Broke Straight Boys site? Also Broke Straight Boys prides itself on being a "reality, amateur" site. So to bring in more established porn models would dilute that premise.

Tampa, you bring up a very good point.....how did these models skirt the rules. They certainly don't fit the strict and sensible description of what a blumedia model should look like according to the blumedia recruitment criteria. I had not even thought about that. You are right on top of everything my friend.

Tampa,

Where do you get all that info about Blu requirements? Today's episode had both, a guy with tatts and one that was sunburned.

And LB,
Give me a break! I've been to those other sites as well and have seen VERY FEW I would want to see here on the Broke Straight Boys futon.
Furthermore, I don't see anything wrong with the guys they have shown this far, not as far as looks are concerned. They may not all be 10's, but, the other sites don't show all 10s either.
True that Matt looks a bit old already, but so did Vinny, I just thought Vinny was hot, though not my type.

Then my friend, we must agree to disagree, agreeably. As an old professor said many times, let us come together and reason with one another.

I agree with you Jlipps. I don't see anything wrong either. Not all 10's for sure, but I'm enjoying the overall product that Mark and Clay are presenting.

I suppose the easiest answer is that this is Broke Straight Boys not College Boys etc. Not to mention why would anyone pay to see the same models but on different websites? Talk about over exposure!

So far I really have no issue at all with the look of the new models on Broke Straight Boys Not all have been my type but all were certainly presentable and very much fitting in the context of what a Broke Straight Boys would look like.

Here are the Blumedia criteria for being hired as a model. I copied this from the Collegedudes247 web site.

"We are looking for attractive athletic young men between the ages of 18 and 26 who are interested in appearing in erotic or adult entertainment media, such as College Dudes.com, Twinkscape.com or other appropriate media, either alone or with others. Models are compensated competitively and travel expenses are subsidized. Prior experience is not necessary.
You must be at least 18 years old and be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. You will be required to provide a U.S. government issued photo-ID (e.g. state drivers license, passport. state identification card).

We are interested in working with athletic young men that have an above-average amount of tone and muscle, with a collegiate look. College Dudes in particular rarely films young men with heavy tatoos or piercings, although each potential model will be evaluated on an individual basis. Potential models with natural body hair are given priority status. If you have shaved or heavily trimmed pubic hair you may be asked to grow your hair back to a natural state before an offer is made.

If we think there is potential to work together, you will be expected to be available for a webcam interview prior to booking. If you do not have access to a webcam, you will need to address this in order to be considered.

We do not discriminate based on race, marital status, ethnicity, national origin, or sexual orientation. "

Thanks LB. If you go to the first page of the Broke Straight Boys site before you log in, you will see a tab for "Modeling". That takes you to this page:

www.tier1casting.com/casting/information.asp

My previous post alluded mostly to the lower section of:

What We Look For

* Boy next door, collegiate or military appearance.
* Flat stomach with visible abs.
* Muscular, fit and toned bodies.
* Natural hair - arms, armpits, legs and pubic area unshaven
* None or minimal tattoos.
* No body piercings. If you would like to be considered, you must be able to remove any and all body piercings.
* No unusual suntan or sunburn.
* Simple, classic and masculine hairstyles.
* Healthy, well rested smiling faces.

For the record I like Rocco alot. In the first scene I didn't like that his hair covered too much of his eyes. But Clay had already taken care of that issue by the very next scene. I like his Rocco's hair. Especially when it looks very clean and combed out. :001_smile:

And as LB pointed out in the section of his post, Blu does say at the very beginning that if a model doesn't meet all of these criteria in the strictest sense that they are willing to evaluate models on an individual basis.

I think the basic Broke Straight Boys and Blu criteria are very good.

How about this one Tampa?

I don't know those other two models, but sounds like they are gay. As for Rider, I never thought him that cute, plus he was kind of a jerk. We don't need more of those on Broke Straight Boys
