There were fans that LOVED HIM, and there were those who DID NOT LOVE HIM. The two sides battled it out for over a year, and still will if he is mentioned.
After your first three scenes, when I posted that statement, I felt that you may be a model that would have a very devisive......love him/hate him situation.

I believe what Ms. K was referring to was the fact that in your first scene with another guy, you appeared to be apprehensive about having sex with another guy, and some of the more "sensitive" members of the forum took objection to your not embracing male on male sex with a big smile on your face, but instead acting as I would expect a true straight guy would about the prospects of cock sucking and ass fucking with a dude.
I don't know if you are familiar with Jimmy, who was the first model featured in the re launch of Broke Straight Boys, with Clay filming and directing the scenes. Jimmy also participated in posting on the forum as well. In my opinion, he was a very personable, friendly young guy, who also appeared at numerous Broke Straight Boys live events, and was featured extensively in Sha's wonderful Behind The Scenes features.
But Jimmy made it very clear that he was straight, and did not have gay sex for pleasure, but rather because he was good looking, able to get a hardon and perform the sex acts necessary and he was here to make money, not because he liked it.
Again, his detractors on the forum objected to Jimmy's attitude and wanted him to look happier and try harder at sucking dick, and kissing a guy, and they ultimately wanted him to get fucked, which he adamantly refused to do.
As you also come across as very straight, the same folks who objected to Jimmy were also afraid that you would be like many models on David's version of this site, who were actually straight and only here for the money. To me that is what this site is all about, and I don't believe or necessarily want models who are totally agreeable to doing whatever is asked of them, and to passionately kiss, suck cock and taking a big cock in their ass.
Your straight boy attitude is what I believe was Ms. K's concern.

Ms.K is so right on this Spencer. All you have to do is mention Jimmy's name in here and intelligent, sane people just go nuts. haha It's like yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater.
The reason you became so controversial within the forum was because people were upset over your scene with Jason. Jason is very well liked in here and you came across as very rude and uncooperative in the scene. But, as is usually the case, it's more complicated than that. For a truly straight guy starting gay for pay porn for the first time you would expect him to be maybe a little snarly, uncooperative and just trying to power through the scene to make the money.
Up until last year ago when straight guys came along and acted like they hated performing gay sex...that was applauded as a genuine straight model worth watching. The embodiment of everything the site was about, so to speak.
The biggest reason your scene was not well received was because you reminded so many people of Jimmy.
The thing here is that Mikey and I are actually friends. We've even met in person even though he lives in NYC and I live in Florida. We will just never see eye to eye on Jimmy. lol Plus I know that Mikey actually enjoys some controversy in here. haha
Mikey likes the straightest of the straight models doing gay for pay. I like that also. The problem is that Jimmy took the "straight" model thing to such an extreme that many people got fed up with it. He went through being rude to his scene partners, being lazy in his scenes, wasting Clay's time, wasting our money (and time), not wanting to suck dick, not wanting to kiss, not wanting to rim, not wanting to be rimmed, not wanting to bottom...because he's straight and all that. Except that his straight shtick went on for a full year in 27 videos. Which to many of us viewers felt like infinity and beyond. But precisely because of this "Jimmy Effect" we were seeing less of the really really straight models rather than more.
As I say, over a year ago the straightest models were given more time to develop and go through that snarly, "I don't want to be here" stage. Viewers were more understanding and sympathetic to straight models who were struggling to do the gay sex acts. Models were actually prized for those very qualities. In short, viewers were more patient. But we had been subjected to it on a continuous basis for so long with Jimmy and he never really changed.
There was a collective sigh of relief (by many, but not all of us) here in the forum when Jimmy's final scene aired. Then within weeks, your scene with Jason aired and there was a visceral reaction of "Oh no. Not again. Not another one!" As time goes on the memories of Jimmy will fade and viewers will be more patient once again with straight models who are struggling.
Precisely because of Jimmy being so straight, so uncooperative and so unchanging, it poisoned the well so to speak for those struggling straight models immediately following him.
Regardless though Spencer the good news is that you have redeemed yourself in here to many of us. Your last few scenes have been great. We now look forward to your scenes and hope you will be around for a good while longer. At least I am.
Your scene with Zane Tate and Brandon is a personal favorite of mine. I'm so glad you're posting in here. I look forward to hearing more of your story.

I'm going to probably cause a bit of controversy now but I'm not bothered it's the way I feel. I agree it's good to have models post on the forum as long as they are prepared to take criticism as well as praise. However, people may be tempted not to criticise models for the simple fact that they post on the forum. To me that defeats what the forum is all about.
Sure guys post away - it's nice to hear your views, but don't expect chocolates and champagne everyday. It can get bumpy on here sometimes.

Thank you for having the balls to say what I've been thinking for a long time too. I love having the models here, but I feel that it does sometimes inhibit what we say, out of politeness.
In the past, I have hesitated to criticize a model's performance if I know he is a participant on the forum.
However, I can only recall one model on BSB2 who did not always get the 'preferential treatment' from the forum. What was his name? I think it began with a J?????
Thank you Jon for raising this point that I've thought about, but never raised on the forum myself.
