LOL. Actually, I didn’t have a problem with the entire comment. It was the eww. Imagine if I had gone on a thread about Jake or Sky or Ethan and commented with an eww, EVERYBODY would have clapped back on my ass. I will ALWAYS have Ryan’s back....he is like one of the very few actual straight or bi boys on this site. He is packing and I’m loving every damn minute of it.
Amen! He isn’t a twink like many of the popular models. He is more of a man jock type. Some people think he older because of his body hair but he is a young man cub and very hot. Some of us do Like the idea of a straight guy trying gay for pay. From what I’ve seen on his social media he is generally curious or at least willing to try different aspects of gay for pay. We do have to be careful to sometimes take a step back when making a value judgement about a model's looks. I can recall in the not too distant past when negative comments were made about the looks of Tyson and more recently Denver. The models do have access to the forum and I would never want to see a young man have his feelings hurt by our comments. It is a very brave act to decide to get naked to earn money by performing sexually and I've learned to temper my comments.
And so in regard to Ryan I will simply say that he is not "my type" and so I generally do not watch his scenes or comment about him. But I fully understand that some of my friends and fellow forumites think he is hot and enjoy his work. Again there is no "right or wrong" when it comes to taste and human sexuality. As long as I occasionally get a dose of the type of guys I like and enjoy seeing here, then I am happy!

Well, I'll tell you why this member likes him.
First, the guys got a dick that is big and it works. Lots of big dicks don't work, but this guy's big dick works.
Then, he just boils over with sexuality. He loves to show off his dick to, apparently, anyone who will look. He knows its big and he knows people love big dicks.
And he loves his big dick for his OWN reasons. No way would I want to hurt a model. However I think in the forum it is OK to have an opinion. We all have attributes that appeal to us. Many on the forum like Ryan. I am just not one of them.

From what I understand, Broke Straight Boys makes their decisions on which models to bring back based on both member ratings, (on models and scenes), and based on "hits" to the scenes which is a number we as members never see. And so neither negative nor positive feedback on the forum is going to affect those decisions to my understanding. Only Mark, Sha or Bryce can confirm if that is the case.
As an example many of us on the forum were excited about Danny Cruz who did one round of scenes back in early 2018, and he posted on the forum and told us that he was straight but he had a couple of real life gay experiences and he was willing to try bottoming if invited back. But I believe it was Sha who told us that his numbers did not warrant a return visit.
I love the forum and love to read the diverse opinions on models and scenes, but at the end of the day management makes business decisions based on other factors than our comments here.
I can understand why this would be a formula, however, how do they know if the people rating a scene are true die hard members who have been around a while or someone who just joined for a month or two? I would think it would be nice to consider the tastes of someone who has been a member for a decade over some young 20 year old who joined one night when they were drunk and cancelled a few days later. I know that probably doesn’t happen often, but I’m sure there are some who join on a trial period and cancel immediately.....not because they don’t like the content but because they don’t want the commitment. I value all of your opinions and tastes and the time you take to share it on this forum over some random person clicking a rating that takes 2 seconds.
Ryan, like it or not, is one of the few guys on Broke Straight Boys that actually fits that description. I would much rather watch him perform than an effeminate cute gay twink. I am fine with the twinks and understand you have to give a little, but why would you ever get rid of a model that is the closest to the product you’re trying to promote with Broke Straight Boys?

Why should a new member or even a short-time one's opinion be any less valued than a lifer? A paying member is a paying member, and all should have the same rights and voice.

First I want to repeat that I have no inside information other than what I read on this forum, and being such a fan of everything Broke Straight Boys as I am, I often enjoy discussions such as this one more than some of the content that is provided in the scenes.
I believe that Lkpt14902 is correct in that "a paying member is a paying member" and short term members votes count in the rolling averages over time rating models and scenes, similarly to long term member's votes. I like to think of it like the TV ratings. Judge Judy has been on for years and years, and I hear that it is the highest rated syndicated show on television and it has been for a long time. If a person has never watched it before but watches it every day for a rating period, those ratings are similarly tabulated with a person who has been watching forever.
But the other point that I made is something that a staff member who called himself WebMonkey told us several years ago when he posted as Admin. He told us that while ratings do count, the most important factor for management to gauge the popularity of models were "hits" onto scenes. That is obviously a number hidden to we fans and is only available to management. That is something that gives them the real answer to who is popular. If a person wants to "up-vote" or "down-vote" a model to make a statement of support or derision that is counterbalanced by the hits on a scene. If you click on the scene one time and never go back to that model's work, that makes a real statement as opposed to a model who is watched over and over again by fans who vote and who never vote, kind of like the TV ratings.
And to Jay's point about Ryan being "one of the few guys on Broke Straight Boys that actually fits that description", I don't think that is a factor for as Danny Cruz was straight as was Tim Hanes and others. Broke Straight Boys is a business and whatever "sells", they will offer more of to the audience, as selling is what a business is around to do.
Thanks to Jay and Lkpt for keeping this discussion going. I find it fascinating and I appreciate other members who like to "get into the weeds" of the behind the scenes stuff on Broke Straight Boys I guess that makes us "Broke Straight Boys nerds". lol
If I were the owner of a porn site, I would certainly want to make the people who’ve kept the lights on happier than someone who just joined. It’s called customer loyalty. But hey, that’s just my opinion. Sorry we disagree.

I think that's the point. I think guys who really like a guy and if they want to promote him to come back, their greatest vote is not the rating, but by voting with their eyes and watching the scene more than once.
However they do it, I think t hey are batting at least 300 these days.

True, but I don’t think the ratings is necessarily, “money talking”. I’ve said it before, but there are more times than not that models or scenes get rated 2 minutes after they’re released without people actually taking the time to watch. That’s why I think it’s important for people to speak out about the models they like. And how do we know the people clicking a 1 star aren’t people who have joined on a trial period and then cancelled. There are a few boys on the first page of highest rated that I have no clue why they’re rated that damn high.
Anyway, bottom line, Ryan is for the most part straight. He has fans and he also has people who don’t care for him. I don’t think he should go away at all to make room for more gay boys “lying” and pretending to be straight with girlfriends back home that supposedly fucks them with strap ons. I’d rather keep Ryan, thanks. This is Broke Straight Boys

A perfect example of the ratings being complete bullshit sometimes. The Ethan solo, as cute as we all agree he is, is ranked higher than the Benjamin, Jos Alvarez, Richie threesome AND the Jake/Marcus scene.
