Just to bring back the question of the "natural progression" to bottoming: I actually think that this is good. Just a matter of personal preference, of course, but I guess I'm imparting my idea of what the "natural progression" for gay guys is onto those who do "gay for pay". I just think that bottoming is something that most, if not all, gay guys end up having to do at some point, even if they nominally consider themselves tops, so if a straight guy wants to be paid to "play" gay for the camera, it would follow that he also does it, even if it isn't his preference.
I guess it depends what somebody considers to be the basis of the "straight guy" fantasy. For me, it doesn't take anything away from the BSB experience to see the guys on camera appear to enjoy themselves. In fact, I think that some of the best scenes on here --- Ian and Paul from yesterday, Max and Blake, Max and Carter, Carter and Adam -- were ones where the actors appeared to be into it. And some of the worst scenes had the opposite feeling from the models, such as the ones where Lucas was evidently disgusted with what he was doing. That's not to say that the reticence from new models isn't cute -- it is -- but I find that it works out best when after a few scenes they get into a "groove" and actually seem to enjoy fooling around.
Excellent post, AJ. I happen to agree with you from your first word to your last.
You have apparently been a member of
Broke Straight Boys for some time now, since you rattled off scenes many months old. I'm happy that you finally decided to join the forum.
The "natural progression" to bottoming that you speak of, I'm going to expand to other sexual acts that the guys seem to have a disgust for or a fear of doing, such as kissing, rimming and cum eating.
Assuming the guys are straight (and they all should be or believably should be), they have to be comfortable with their bodies and their sexual orientation from the get go. As I've said many times here, if they are straight when they arrive on our doorstep, they will be just as straight when they move on, hopefully many months later. The intention here should not be to make them gay, but to expand their horizon and hopefully make them more comfortable performing gay sex acts for our enjoyment. They are acting....no more, no less.
I also absolutely love the "love making" scenes, many of which you mentioned, and which I might add, have received the highest ratings ever. Some may say that the models "making love" can't possibly be straight, but that should be a credit to the actors that they have performed the best that could have been done, even well enough to "fool" a percentage of the gay population. These few "super stars" are the ones that will probably move on to a lucrative future in the porn business. After all, it is ALL about the money, right?
The one model that stands out from the rest, to me, was
Blake Bennet. He first came to the
Broke Straight Boys futon as a little hairy skinny kid with not an ounce of color in his skin and was admittedly a nerd. I watched him over the months tackle and accomplish each and every one of the tasks put before him with a gleam of determination in his eyes. It was pure joy to watch him blossom into one of the best of the best. I think he might have been bi-curious when he arrived here, but never acted on his curiosities before
Broke Straight Boys, and is probably bi-sexual now. But there's nothing wrong with that.....just increases the number of potential sexual partners. I do think that he should continue on this site as a mentor to the newbies coming onboard. He could do more to relax the newbies than Clay or anyone else could.
Welcome to the forum, AJ.
