Finally, a voice of reason. Thank you. And I should not have called Ari trash. Trash is a noun that denotes refuse, which I don't believe anyone is and certainly not Ari. The adjective trashy might be more apt. There actually is a difference. Ari does indeed have value as a person and I would never wish ill on him, though I don't necessarily hold him in the highest regard.

Trashy isn’t necessary the wrong term for Ari and those tats. I don’t find him that attractive but he can fuck and take a dick and if we are just going to have gay boys in here at least we should have ones that can perform. Irrespective of the lighting and camera work.

Yes, Rep. I am into real fucking and real men. But I'm a very liberal guy, having grown out of a world where it was OK to kill a gay guy if you wanted to. Rather than prosecute the killer, they'd just figure that the gay guy had probably asked for it. Because of this experience, I accept almost any kind of sex they present on Broke Straight Boys and accept any comment that any forumite makes on those scenes. I rate the scenes the way I see them, but I accept them all.

This is very liberal attitude, I know.

We forumites do express very divergent views. I do not necessarily agree with everything OLD FART says. Even HE doesn't agree with everything he says. in one of his most recent postings he is "restating" something he said before. But I've got to tell you, that OLD FART speaks up and makes the forum an open place. One example, is, he has kicked Broke Straight Boys around about their filming the scenes, and it has improved. We don't have the light shinning through the windows anymore, which would blot out the scenes. OLD FART has been at the forefront of these controversies, and produced good results. I admire him for his persistence, his fortitude and his consistency. He hasn't changed the kind of sex I enjoy. I still rate scenes as I see them. But I adore his comments, even if I sometimes don't agree entirely with his point of view. I still love to see his posts.

The most recent scene posted is currently rated as 4.47, which means that 89.4 percent of the voters rated is as a 5. I didn't rate it as a 5, but I'm way in the minority for not having done so. IMO, the bottom wasn't very into the scene, but lots of people thought he was.

We all have our own idea of what is hot and what is not. I checked the ratings of the last nine partnered scenes, and at this time, this one is at 4.65, higher than any of the other eight. The ratings go up and down and so this may change, but at this point in time, general membership who vote on scenes, (not just members of the forum) seem to like this scene more than the others in recent weeks. And for those who do not like this scene that is fine too. There is no right or wrong in porn or in what turns us on.

Not about this video in particular but a few weeks ago I was wondering if we can trust the ratings as gospel. Sure, one video might have a 3.1 and another 4.9 but how many people even choose to watch? The 4.9 could have been by the ten people who actually watch...

That is absolutely the truth, and the same goes for the individual model ratings. That is why I pay little attention to the ratings of a "newbie" model as ten people who like them may all vote five and he jumps to "the top of the pops", so to speak. It is the Johnny Forza's, Adam Baers, Kodi's and Blake Bennet's whose ratings really mean something as they've been around for years and years whereas Charlie Maddox who is currently #1 only has a handful of votes compared to the guys who've been here since 2011 or 2012 as the guys I mentioned.

And of course the same goes for new scenes. Usually the ratings level off after the scene is initially released, but I was just making an example that while we may personally be turned off by a model or a scene, it doesn't necessarily speak for the entire viewing audience. Again it is a matter of "different strokes for different folks", and in the case of porn, you can take the work "strokes" however you like. lol

That’s a great post with lots of truth. You keep things lively around here and you memory and and grasp of history especially gay history is really appreciated by me and others. We are mostly older on her but I think these new guys don’t seem to have a clue of how hard it was to be gay in the past. I am lucky I was post Stone Wall. But I have a deep sense of gratitude for those who paved the way so we don’t have to hide the way we once did.

I think both titles are equally appropriate maybe you should pick the one you like. The Dean reference has more of an academic context and since you are so studios in your research I thought it was appropriate but your often a peace maker around here which is more political so maybe Mayor works best. Either way I’m sure most of us appreciate your deep knowledge and willingness to share.

And nobody is happier about the scene quality than me. To the crew of Broke Straight Boys "Thank you". As far as the scores go, their only real purpose is to inform those who haven't seen the scene the opinions of those who have. It is no guarantee how a viewer will feel. Once a person has viewed it the score is irrelevant, unless you want to engage in identity politics. There's a difference between, "I liked/dislike this scene because I think the model is (insert adjective here)" and "I liked/dislike this scene and since the majority feel the same way I do anyone who doesn't agree is (insert epithet here)". Models need to learn that not everyone likes them (Miss Oliver still hasn't learned this). Some models avoid this by not reading the forum (like Tanner, though his mistake was coming up with a lame excuse on camera). Some models already know this because they know already that they rub some people the wrong way. Either way, it's a fact of life for a performer.

When I post on the forum I post what I think, whether I believe people are going to agree with me or not. A model may or may not like it, but at least they know why I feel that way. When I see someone post a snarky comment disparaging me or anyone else who are in the minority opinion, you bet your sweet ass I'm going to respond, knowing full well that the response may well be "Ha ha, we're the cool kids and we made you cry". It usually isn't until (best case scenario) I continue to parry with the snark, sending the thread into extra innings or (worst case scenario) I Vesuvius (replete with vulgarities) all over the thread, that someone finally says, "Now, now everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We need to respect that and move on". I'd like make a suggestion. If you're going to get snarky wit someone who doesn't hold your opinion, either expect to to get snark back ( believe me, as someone who had to deal with the public and always keep a civil tongue, I have a reservoir full and I love to use it) or say to yourself "Now, now everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I need to respect that and move on".

P.S. Before you start with the tired old, "You just don't like it when someone disagrees agree with you" trope, STOP. I don't mind If someone wants to address me or anyone else and say, "How can you/you guys not like this? What do you/ you want, all rose petals and candles???" or how about, "Oldfart, are you fucking blind? Did you have a fuckin' stroke or something?". I'm an adult. I can handle it. That's leads to an actual discussion. What galls the Hell out of me are the snarky, adolescent comments that are said as an aside, like Cool Kidz™ are pretending to talk behind others' back, but always within earshot. Well, excuse the Hell out me for not putting up with that. In my own defense, if I do say something that really offends a model and he calls me out on it, I will hear him out and sincerely apologize when I'm wrong (as I did with Ronin). Making mistakes is the best way to learn something and I'm not to big to admit that.
