Not at all Spartan! haha And I don't see it as bragging if it's the truth. Besides, many of us live vicariously through the stories of others that are better than our own or are at least equal to or interesting. lol

In fact I had in mind that this could be a thread where people would engage in rather IMish chat. Albeit with the fact that it is not totally private. I can't imagine anyone being accused of talking too much here.

Well it's official....after 20 years I've been laid off from my job.....No big surprise as I knew that it was coming for the last 5 mths....Still the unknown can be a bit scary......I've had a job since I have been 11 yrs old working on the neighbors farm gathering eggs and feeding the chickens everyday.....45 years i have worked never worrying about the next day.....I have a few prospects out there, so i guess next week i will start to check them out and see where they go !!!!!

Wow. I'm so sorry to hear that Rafe. I wish you all the best of luck in finding something else. I don't know your age or how close you are to retirement age. But I'm sure all of us hope that you can make it smoothly to finish line of at least Social Security.

Well Tampa I'm only 56, so I have a ways to go till retirement....I can assure you I will be TIRED way before I can Retire......LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL....I have a house payment till I'm 68 at this point, and I keep thinking about a Nice large 2 car garage....LOLOLOLOL....heck with my thoughts it could be 78.............LOLOLOLOL......

Wow. Sorry to hear that. I missed your post yesterday. On my 20th anniversary on my job, I got a new boss. Things were shaky at first but we worked through the obstacles. On my 25th anniversary and at the age of 62, I retired immediately. As far as I was concerned I was done working. Ironically, like you, I also started working at age 11 in my uncle's warehouse as a stock boy. I gave 51 years of my life to someone else and now I only have me to give it to.

I see you only have 6 years left before you can regain your life back again. I pray that something comes along the way that will allow you to sail through the next 6 years smoothly.

Linda and I are going out for some chili dogs at our local pub tonight. All the morning shows have shown ways to grill hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and ribs. I had ribs yesterday so today I got a craving for hot dogs. When it is just two of us, it is a whole lot simpler and cheaper to go out. Happy 4th, everyone.
