How come it seems that just about all of the models sport tattoos?

These are supposed to be "broke" & "straight" boys. If the don't have a pxxx to pxxx in, how come to can afford expensive (and expansive) tattoos?

Actually, I find some of these large ink-jobs a turn-off.

Are all straight guys like this?

Just wondering ...

Living in Clearwater FL, 4 miles from the sugar white beaches on the gulf of Mexico, I see a pretty large cross section of the population I think. In the summertime, it's locals. Over the winter months, it's people on vacation from up North where they're white and their tattoos are more pronounced. I would estimate that the majority of young guys under 30 have varying and increasing amounts of ink...I'm guessing straight, gay, and anywhere in between based on who I've observed.

Personally I think a certain amount of ink is ok, as long as it's tastefully done and has some sort of rhyme or reason behind it. It starts becoming bizarre and making no sense when there appears to be no rhyme nor reason behind it (i.e. Mike Robbins who went from some planned out ink which he described to us and explained on one of his old posts), but in Mike Robbins' case I believe that his increasingly random and bizarre ink jobs were in direct correlation to his escalating personal issues but that is only my opinion of course.

In almost all cases, I think a person's choice of ink or lack thereof is a really personal and direct connection to their life, personality, and statements of self.

If you want to understand more about a person, study his choices of tattoos you will learn many things about him that you may not otherwise know.

Some astute observations may also reveal to you some things that would never be discussed on camera. For example, Mick's military insignia tattoos reveal that in reality he probably really was a young brave military man in real life before ever appearing in front of a camera in a porn studio. In recent years, Diesal has had the word "Diesal" emblazoned down his side, which seems to reveal that he accepts the the temporary role as "gigantor" he agreed to play in a very permanent way that people who know him personally will see for decades to come.

Jimmy's complete lack of adornments and ink seem to reflect a conscious decision on his part to let him speak for himself without needing any assistance, and if you ask me I believe that Jimmy treats his athletic body as a temple. You can tell from Jimmy's posture, and just the way he moves that he is a jock through and through.

Of course tattoos can become completely overdone, to the extent that may render some guys completely un-marketable and un-hirable because of it no matter what industry they're aspiring to. And that would go for porn too, I mean how hot would it be to watch a scene where they're having to blur out one or more tattoos throughout the duration of a guy's scenes?

I've always maintained there is nothing wrong with trying out different hairstyles, manscaping, and shaving. It always grows back, at least before it starts going away on its own as some of us age.

Piercings are more permanent, but even they aren't as permanent as ink.

So my only final thought on the subject is that I hope that when they do choose to take the plunge and ink themselves up for all intents and purposes "eternity", I can only say I hope they choose wisely!

i live in so cal beach community. with navy and marine facilities all around.
i think some of these guys would save money not eating to get that next tattoo.
all i see is tats everywhere. small ones and full body pieces.
a new age group. a new thing.
but lasar removal is more costly than the ink.
in fairness to those who would spend their last dollar on a tat, others with their own money problems still find a way to feed their habits and desires.

I love inked guys

I have 8 tattoos myself and really like guys that have tattoos. Today, i think tattoos are very acceptable.:thumbup:

I'm still not a fan of tattoos in general. I have in fact met many people with tattoos while living here in Florida where people show lots of skin on a more year round basis. I have also met more than a few older people with tattoos who wish now that they had never gotten them. Although yes...there are some who are still very happy and proud of them. So many times getting a tattoo is an impetuous act. After staring at that same tattoo for 20, 30, 50 years I'm sure it gets tedious and boring for some people who got them in their youth.

I do wish that Broke Straight Boys would try to hire more models without tattoos. I love many of the models with tattoos. Don't get me wrong. And I'm definitely not suggesting that we get rid of any of our very beloved current models already hired. But it goes back to the variety issue again. Just as I myself don't like to see a majority of models with very close cropped hair...I also don't like to see a majority of models with tattoos. It's almost like tattoos are a semi requirement to be hired.

I know that there are broke straight guys out there who have medium length hair and no tattoos. They do exist. And there's even some in Florida where Broke Straight Boys films. Why not sprinkle in a few of those?

Living in a different tropical climate than what has been mentioned already, generally, on anyone other than Maori's or other Pacific Islanders actually practicing some sort of tribal tradition, tattoos make a person look dirty to me. I can deal with small, obscured tattoos, but once they get to be the size of an average adult hand, or they are visible when a person is fully clothed, they just make a person start looking like trailer trash. Nearly every person I've seen with a tattoo that is visible when they are fully clothed looked unkempt and unbathed to me. I don't understand why so many people are so crazy about them. I try to ignore them when they appear among the models. The only one I could not ignore was the one on the Jimmy who popped Diesal's cherry. It should be obvious why.

Thought From A Looseleaf Notebook

My dad, bless his soul, was a gruff tell-it-like-it-is type of guy. I wanted to be like one of the guys in high school, so I put an initial on my left arm. Mind you, it was only one letter! My dad hit the ceiling like a rocket!!

He said: "I ought to spank you for what you did to yourself but I'm not going to, because every time someone asks you about that tattoo, it will remind you of what an asshole you were to put it on in the first place!"

To this day, which has been a very long time, when people ask about it, it reminds me of what my dad told me many years ago....thanks dad! :001_smile:

To ink or not to ink? That is the question!

Dear Tampa,

I don't wish to suggest anything negative about the character of someone having tatoos. However, when it comes to "sins of the flesh", my personal preferences ask why clutter up the scenery when you really don't have to and were probably more appealing in the long run without it? With the exception of tribal tatoos based on longstanding cultural traditions, it seems so very unnecessary and fadish by nature for practically every one else.

So many times today in the US, they are almost imposed upon a guy in order to fit in with their friends, whether in civilian or millitary life. Then, shortly thereafter, these insisting friends move away never to be heard from again and guys are left with what seems like a blemish on an otherwise perfectly pristine body. I can't avoid thinking what a tragic waste, especially the guys putting a girlfriend's name on their chest only to break up and form another relationship. Then, all subsequent sexual partners are faced with staring at a name that is useless to their current relationship, but still a constant reminder to your current partner.

So whatever letter you put, it only makes you think of your dad. Not significance behind it? Hmmmm. What letter did you choose and why??? So curious now...

I love ink on a man. My own man is uninked. He'll remain that way till the day of his death. However, I think ink is so sexy when it's done well. I don't care what it is. I thought Jimmie's sun around his belly button was about the sexiest thing I've ever seen. However, I've not seen many men naked as sexy as Jimmie... I loved Mike R's ink because it was a testament to his journey as a person in progress. The things people choose to mark on their flesh is fascinating. Sure, some is ugly and distracting, but it's still a part of the person. Unfortunately, we don't get to ask those questions. I've known my friend Ashlie for 3 years now and only just asked about one of her tats. It's an ugly little monster that's coming out of the horn of a Victrola. I've looked at that thing so many times and I never had the courage to ask. It's her Lady Gaga tattoo. She's one of the little monsters, and it's her interpretation. It's all so personal. I'm in awe of people who are brave enough to ink their bodies. It's a big decision! I raise my glass to my compadres with ink. So happy for you that you were able to choose!!! I'm stuck in indecision land. It's a big one and I don't want to choose foolishly....

Well my lovely Ms Lumps, the initials were supposed to be of my first and last name. But I chickened out after I put on the first letter. Pain, guilt, realization....I don't know but I stopped at one letter. The reason for doing it was to be like the jocks and other clique groups in high school....you know....cool!

When other people comment on it, it does remind me of my dad and how prophetic his words were when he said: "it'll remind you of what an asshole you were to put it on in the first place....hence, "thanks dad".

As a grown man, the tattoo is rather childish and I think perhaps mars some of my creditability as a mature person. Just my thoughts.

You went for your own initials at least, not the current love of your life like so many people. Good for you! You should be the center of your universe. So one initial or 2, it's a testament of your confidence in yourself at the time and what you wanted others to think of you. Whatever letter adorns your body, remember that it's a part of your history and always think back to who you thought you were then and who you are now and see if they line up. What's there, what's missing, what would you like to change. Reminders are a good thing. I find that my ideals when I was 18 are really quite similar to what they are now.

Thank you for saying that Laura, for I feel the same way about myself. My best friend growing up was a guy named David, who I began "experimenting" sexually with when we joined the boy scouts together at age 11. I went with him to buy my first gay porn magazine, met my first gay sex partner through an ad in an "alternative" newspaper during the late 1960's, "The East Village Other", went to my first gay bar, and gay bath house with David too.

He became a beautiful young man who was the center of attention in the gay community in NYC when we were in our early 20's, and he became a very successful businessman during the 1980's. I last saw him when we both turned 50, in 2000, and he complains that I want him to be the same David I knew, at say age 18, and that he has grown as a person. I feel that I am basically the same person, although a lot wiser, but I love who I am, and I loved who David was back then.

I enjoy being an older wiser version of myself at 18, but I am proud to day I am still me, with the same thought process and many of the same values. :thumbup1:

It's funny that you think some of these guys are straight. It's called acting. And there is no problem with tats. I find them kinda hot!!

I believe that one must earn his tatoo - it's something like a medal of honor earned for the benefit of the people or tribe. It's not something taken lightly or done frivolously - it's not cheap. It should mean something! The tatoo is a honor given by the people or tribe or village you are from. Anyone who sees the tatoo knows that it was earned through great sacrifice by its owner. The person is someone who will be listened to and respected. He is not to be trifled with. He has earned the right to be an elder.

Growing up doesn't have to mean losing our inner child. I still swing on the playground at recess most days and chase the kids up the monkey bars on occasion. I boogie around acting ridiculous and sing at the top of my lungs whenever the mood strikes me. Growing up doesn't mean we have to be serious all the time. I certainly don't think so. I still feel young most days. Today, not so much. But tomorrow is a new day.

A few tats are just fine. Sometimes they even project a little rough guy persona. Keep them cumming with or without tats as long a they still have their pubes.

I wonder if the Native Americans ever sat around the fire in front of their teepee holding a similar debate about totem poles? Just wondering.

Seems like the more we advance in this world, the more we return to where we have already been.
