straight or amateur?

I was reading a miscellaneous blog this morning on Broke Straight Boys and the writer used the word "amateur" to describe the boys here. That stopped me. Well, yeah, they're amateurs* but that is just a part of them being straight. Plus there are plenty of other gay porn sites out there that feature supposed amateurs, including our own bonus site, Amateur Boys First Time, and I don't belong to those. I also know I have a straight boy hang up.

But the boys I've always appreciated, like Logan, Alden and Nu, have had a freshness to them that went beyond them being straight. You never quite knew what they were going to do. I think this is the reason so many of us like Mikey. He may be gay but he's spontaneous. He's still acts like being on the futon is a fun hobby rather than a job. They are all amateurs in spirit.

A few guys, Tyler and Diesal come to mind, were able to move from amateur to professional successfully. By the end of their times on the futon, they were pros. But one reason CJ was almost a drag by the end of his time here was that he didn't make this switch well. He looked bored. When will this scene be over? It became a job.

The more I considered this, the more I thought that I like these boys, straight or gay, because they are amateurs.

The only thing I would add is that you you think gays who are into straight dudes is a rarity, they aren't.

Let me put it this way: I rarely meet another gay who doesn't think of doing it with a straight dude. Maybe it's because we're surrounded by them, but it's true.

It doesn't mean that most gays attempt to actually pick hook up with heteros, but we sure are attracted to them. That is, if they are ones type.

That's why I say this straight boy attraction is NOT a fetish. And this attraction has been one of the keys to success to sites like this.

I agree with you. Personally, if I had the choice between getting dirty with a gay guy or a straight guy, I'd so choose the straight guy. I think you hit on precisely what old-time Broke Straight Boys fans loved about the site so. The models maybe were a bit curious, if straight, but they were adventurous at heart. If they were only for the "Sex" like Leon, then I say who can't relate to that also. What made the Pizza Boy trilogy or the hotel room with Leon and Scott so very hot and engaging was that you never knew what was coming, or cumming, next. Therefore, the spontaneity in the really classic Broke Straight Boys scenes was in full bloom.

Rather than being predictable, they kept you engaged and guessing with what is next, rather than dreading what is next. And even with the addition of "pros" to the futon, they had a certain self-assurance based on their prior experience to mentor or guide a curious newbie or near newbie into new heights of pleasure they had perhaps never dreamed of. Their professionalism that followed them, such as Jimmie or Porn Shane, meant they were knowledgeable and could radiate a sense of confidence a near newbie needs to be comfortable with to explore further, like in the scene with Shane and Josh. That was the magic, that along with finding boys that were open and willing to try new sexual experiences.

Regardless of the title of this site, I would think most of members would consider Josh from the very beginning as straight or no more than slightly curious, anyway. And, over time he was slowly won over at the very least to bi or somewhere approaching bi. Josh and Shane, when paired together, really won the hearts of the audience over thinking that there really was something going on with the two of them, something spontaneous, yet undeniable. I think most of us here want to see that in the future episodes, but at the current pace we may not have enough years left in our lifetime for this to evolve with most of the "Straight ONLY" Broke Straight Boys-2 models. Hence, no more magic.

I do not pretend to speak for all Broke Straight Boys members, but seeing what appears to be a romance here and there is "sweet" and "satisfying". Therefore, Smiley, I have to agree with your comment stating:

I just felt you captured a key ingredient that made Broke Straight Boys-1 so enjoyable, namely spontaneity in many of the scenes that later became "classics". I feel this factor to be constructive criticism in hopes of future changes. That is all I meant.

I think the word is innocence. Whether it is a gay guy doing his first video, or a straight guy having his first mansex, it's fresh and exciting. First off, no jokes about my "senior member". I turned 58 this week and old jokes are becoming all too real.
