spotting old-BSB models skaterboy Bobby Owens and best BSB-bottomboy Kodi

I do love Broke Straight Boys and the history and the gossip as well as the boys over the years and so I love to answer any questions that I can too. Feel free to ask and between myself, Tampa, another1 and the rest of us "old codgers" here, we'll do our best to share what we know.

Take "little Johnny" for example. I was his teacher too when he first started on the forum, and now he has over 5000 posts. They grow up too quickly! lol

Never kiss a Professor's ass in a class. FRENCH KISS his ass, so he knows you're sincere and committed. And interested. They all seem to understand the language of the "tongue"! LOLOLOL I love being laid on my back when I'm being instructed, but if I need to, I'll sure drop right down to my knees. I love to learn and I love A's, and I really don't care how far down my throat the Professor sticks his dick. Mike has taught me everything I know on the forum, and I brag about HIM all the time to my friends in my Sunday School Class LOLOLOL

I guess some of us old time forumites just assume and obviously wrongly so that everyone is "in" on the chronology and history of Broke Straight Boys As I mentioned on another thread earlier this morning, David was "the voice" of Broke Straight Boys as well as director who filmed all of the scenes from the beginning until April of 2011 when Mark changed direction, and instead of using David's D&E Studio to film the content, he brought it all "in house" and hired Clay to be the new director. Clay's first model and scene was "Jimmy" released on April 2, 2011 which began what we refer to as Broke Straight Boys-2. Clay introduced and filmed some of the prettiest and most iconic models on Broke Straight Boys from the early days with Jamie, Rocco and Bobby including Kodi, Chad, Johnny Forza, "my" AYDEN lol , Brandon Beal, Blake Bennett, Denver, Adam, and the introduction of the "dynamic duo" of Damien & Paul, and of course many others. And so Clay was an integral part of Broke Straight Boys We only learned of his "dark side" when he was suddenly replaced as director by a whole new voice and style of Johnny Robins with his "hand" in the early scenes, and then Mark's cryptic statement on the final episode of Broke Straight Boys TV.

And so ends today's history lesson by Professor mikeyank on BSB101. LOLOLOLOLOL

For crying out loud, this is sounding as complicated as the storyline from "Dallas". I recognize David's voice, but I will have to go back to listen to Clay. Is the "betrayal" then because Clay started his own site using Broke Straight Boys models filmed on Broke Straight Boys sets, and what was it called? I have seen some questionably demeaning stuff on Pornhub, et al, but I don't know if I've seen any of Clay's stuff. And if Johnny replaced Clay, where did Sha come in (or is Sha not the director)? Holy swizzlesticks Batman! They really need to roll credits after these episodes so I can start to follow this stuff! :confused1:

We've never received an answer to who the "betrayal" remark was directed at, but as Clay left Broke Straight Boys around that time period, and then the boys halfway house stuff came out using Broke Straight Boys models and apparently sets, he would seem be the answer. By the way, Clay is apparently a "stage name" as during the Broke Straight Boys-TV show he is referred to by a different name, which I cannot remember at this time, but can easily go back to the episodes to see.

Johnny Robins did replace Clay and was quite active on the forum, asking for our input and he told us that he stopped putting his hand in the scenes as the forum requested him to stop. He used to refer to his style of filming as "gonzo" style. Then Oldfart to add more Dallas -like intrigue to the situation, Johnny disappeared one day and we were told that he took ill, never to return. He was replaced by Damian Christopher who to me was a Steve Bannon type figure, but that is purely speculation on my part, which we can discuss in a separate "lesson" later this week. lol.

And then Damian left after the TV show and he was replaced by the combination of our Sha, whose been around the whole time, and who I actually met and enjoyed a half hour with at the New York Pride event around 2012. but Sha and his business partner Bryce took over the filming of scenes and that is where we are at today. I know this all sounds complicated but unlike Dallas, we never had a season that turned out to be "dream" with Bobby Ewing taking a shower. lol :confused1:

Damn, this is complicated. They really need to publish a timeline of events! I did see one episode done by Boys Halfway House, and I thought it was pretty trashy. I suppose if you're into abuse and degradation it's fine, but that doesn't do a damn thing for me I'd much rather see sex as passionate rather than punishment. Too bad some of the models went along.

After reading many of the posts on this thread, it reminded me of some of the insight about porn, porn sites, perception and so forth I was able to gain from when I first joined the forum. The Broke Straight Boys-TV show also gave a different behind the scenes look into the possible dynamics and personal interactions of models working within a close nit studio, family setting. While the controversies and drama seem more REAL because, we tend to get an up close and personal look of models who are working within the Broke Straight Boys setting, I am not completely certain that these things are just unique to Broke Straight Boys These same or similar issues are possible within any studio that groups many young, vulnerable, unsettled aspiring young men, models from various back grounds and personal issues all vying to make it in the porn business. Discussions on the forum were instrumental (at one time) for me to start to understand this.

As far as the controversial character and former director of scenes Clay. Again, familiar to us because we've been able to incorporate his persona as part of the experience of watching scenes directed by him and hearing his voice through out the introduction of models and ultimately the Broke Straight Boys-TV show.

As far as the site Clay spun off on, employing various models he had worked with at the Broke Straight Boys studios and the very nature of his site and it's premise I have to say a few things. First of all, I agree that many to include myself would find looking at his "man parts" and the abusive nature of the scenes to be a big turn off! The fact that some of the models he used were ones that we became familiar with and in some cases "adored" is understandably heart breaking as well. Be that as it may, first of all, his site is NOT Broke Straight Boys It is not something one has to subject themselves to unless they choose to. There are many porn sites that cater to the "Daddy image" of young guys being sexed up by older men. Some may find that to be a "fetish". Second of all, I try to keep in perspective that when it comes to porn, models choose to work, or get paid for doing scenes. This is what they do. I've seen some of the most unlikely models, having done work for much bigger studios, doing scenes on this site and other such sites, even after appearing to be having a very successful run in the porn industry.

So, while the forum has been a great place to discuss the scenes currently featured and scenes past, I learned through the forum how to take some of the insights I've gained and do some internet research of my own. Not to find Dirt necessarily but, to gain a better understanding of how things may work. Remember, what you see on the internet isn't always the TRUTH and sometimes, you have to just sort through what you find.

This is how I've integrated my use of the forum for a better understanding of things I see in porn, and I'm able to enjoy porn.....differently.

Who is this Clay? Was he a director or a model? I don't know how I missed him, but it sounds like I'm glad I did.

I'll share something about my perception of Clay when he first arrived. (As Mikey said, David was the first director of Broke Straight Boys and Clay replaced David.) At first when he [Clay] started out filming Broke Straight Boys with the new model Jimmy Johnson, I totally believed Clay was new to directing. We had to be so patient with him (or otherwise be infuriated by the all of his mistakes and amateurishness) for about the first 6-7 months...because he acted like he was a total newbie to filming. We viewers felt like we needed to cut Clay a lot of slack based on the fact that he was obviously new to directing. We felt like we needed give him tips on camera work, model pairings, hiring of models, choreography, even right down to the proper grooming and hygiene level of the models themselves. Talk about someone who didn't seem to know the difference between sh** and Shinola! haha That was Clay for most of the first year.

If Jimmy Johnson was being filmed, he just walked all over Clay, controlled the set and ruled the roost. Clay seemed to be tone deaf to what gay male viewers would want to see. He would miss cumshots or capture them badly. He'd have the camera pointing in places that most viewers wouldn't care about...and ignore and miss things they did care to see. Some of his model pairings seemed to make no sense at all. Again, we'd tell him that he missed much more interesting parts of a scene because he apparently thought a different camera angle focused on something else (mundane) was more interesting. We even started openly questioning on the forum whether he was actually a straight man trying unsuccessfully to film gay porn for a gay audience.

Then after about the 6th-7th month he finally hit a stride and got much better. But it was only after almost a year that we found out in the forum (for one) that he really was gay. Then the biggest shocker (number 2) was to find out that he had been the director of College Dudes for a long time. I was actually shocked and pissed off about that. It just left me shaking my head in disbelief. Because College Dudes scenes were professionally done and decent. Good camera work, decent hiring of models, etc. Whereas over on Broke Straight Boys he seemed to have no clue what he was doing whatsoever. Not even the camera work. I had to wonder just why we had to go through all that turmoil of awful scenes when he first got here if he was a gay man and a professional porn director. It made no sense to me at all. Fortunately the quality of his work on Broke Straight Boys did improve greatly from the low bar he set in the beginning.

Of course Clay's true character came out at the end when the great betrayal came to light. Clay was sacked and the next director to come in was Johnny. I always liked Johnny. He was personable, always open to suggestions and feedback and he knew what he was doing from day one. As in, we didn't have to give him a 7 month trial period. haha
