Spencer & Anthony - What a disappointment!

I have never cared for Spencer. Anthony is one of my favorite bottom boys. I always enjoy watching him. This scene did nothing for me. Very disappointing.

Spencer/Anthony Disappointment

I am with the others that felt that this was a disappointment. For some reason, having the models strip is a turnon.See Blake in his scene with Ayden - sexy as all get out - particularly when he mimics Ayden getting out of his clothes -
Then having Anthony just lay there in a fetal position with no even all of his clothes off was just boring as hell and since this was a majority of the video, just a complete waste of time.
In agreement with others - score of 3 or less.

I liked it alot gave it a 5. really it's a 4.5 . The pants not all off was a plus for me. I think it's hot. Red heads dont usually turn me on BUT Spencer does. He is as said before a perfect fuck machine.Liked seening cum in Anthony's mouth. I think alot guys don't post just watch and enjoy. So the posts here are not reliable for the membership count that liked it.

While I didn't watch this scene, as I do not care for either model, I completely agree with your words Joeychuck. I've long stated and believed that the vocal members of the forum only represent a small segment of membership on Broke Straight Boys

And WebMonkey has also confirmed a long held belief of mine that the voting on the scenes is only one factor that determine if a scene was a success in the minds of management. He has mentioned more than once that votes, forum comments, private messages, tweets and the actual "hits" to a scene all determine which models to bring back, and which kind of scenes to produce in the future.

Forumites often imply that the comments here and the skewed "ratings" that we see are what make or break models and scenes, but those two elements are actually only a part of the total equation.

I don't believe that all those factors are taken into account at all. You would have to be a mathematical genius with loads of time on your hands to go through all the factors you mentioned. I would say the simplest way is to take the average vote from votes cast on the film page, i.e from the membership. The "hits to a scene" way can be easily manipulated by people who are infatuated with a model and want to up their rating. You only get one chance to vote on the main page though.

I haven't watched this scene yet, but I don't agree with nor appreciate the comments about the "cold start" videos. If this is the second one, then I assume the first one was the one with Colin, and I thought that was one of the hottest scenes ever.

I really don't suppose my comments will mean much of anything, though, since there is always this thing around here of the older members sort of dominating any discussion and insisting that their view is right while everyone else is wrong.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with "cold starts." Some of us happen to like them. It mixes things up. I'm really not interested in all the talking beforehand. It's already been established that the whole "straight boy" thing is a ruse much of the time anyways. The fucking is what interests me, and it is nice to have some videos cater to MY tastes for a change. When those of us who didn't appreciate Jimmy's rough and "I'll never bottom" attitude complained that he was all over the place, we were told we were being rude, that we should not expect Jimmy to bottom if he didn't want to, that for him to bottom would destroy the experience of the site for others, and we just shouldn't watch any more of his videos if we hated him so much, even though he was appearing in one scene after another. Not watching his videos pretty much meant not watching any videos, which SUCKS when you are paying a subscription. Now, these SAME people who wouldn't listen to or respect the opinions of others are complaining that "cold starts" don't fit with THEIR preferences. Well, excuse me, but some of us happen to LIKE cold starts, so I would appreciate it if you wouldn't talk as if you want to do away with them. There have only been TWO. It's not as if every other video is a cold start. Fuck!

Thank you for expressing your views, Huh?. The forum has been in a malaise for the last week or more, and I am so pleased to see a new name joining in on the discussions here, and that you are not just here to compliment the models, the site or the forum. To me, controversy and disagreement among members of the forum is what gives it life and a spark. Thank you for contributing and potentially livening things up.

From the tone of your comments, I get the impression that you have been here before, perhaps under a different screen name, but as a newbie or a returnee, I welcome your voice here.

As I am a long time forumite with many many posts under my belt, perhaps I was included in your criticism when you say,

"there is always this thing around here of the older members sort of dominating any discussion and insisting that their view is right while everyone else is wrong."

As you mention the "Jimmy controversy", I was, and perhaps still am one of Jimmy's biggest supporters, but I would like to make my overall position very clear.

I totally welcome everyone's opinion, whether you agree with me or not. I've never "insisted" that my view is "right" and that anyone else's opinion is "wrong". To my way of thinking an opinion cannot be right or wrong, as we all view things from our own particular point of view.

And also keep in mind that management has made it very clear that they do not make policy and hire and fire models based on the opinions of a few vocal forumites, so if some of the "old timers" here do not like the two cold openings, that doesn't mean that Mark and Clay and the powers that be here will eliminate them based on our comments.

I would encourage all members of this site to join in on the forum and express your point of view. The more folks who contribute to the discussions make the forum much more interesting. As a forumite who has been here "forever", I honestly do not think that my opinion is more important than anyone else's.

I sincerely appreciate your comments today Huh? and hope that you become a frequent contributor always expressing your true honest feelings. I love it.

Jon, I based my post on the information that WebMonkey has given us over the last few months. I am very grateful that he posts on the forum, and gives us a bit of info on the behind the scenes workings of this site.

I searched for some of WebMonkey's comments and here are some where he expresses the actual way that Broke Straight Boys evaluates the scenes, and it is definitely not simply by tallying up the "votes" on the scenes.
Interesting thoughts. As far as how we interpret your response, we look at hits, votes, comments, tweets, the lot. The comments often reveal alot more than the simple vote. It does help us to have a consistent voting range for the purposes of relative comparison though. Let me read through the rest of the comments...
And during a discussion involving the model Denver, WebMonkey once again mentions "clicks" which is the same as "hits".
Denver is one of the highest clicks, you guys and gals really like him!
Thanks for the feedbacks all. I dont watch the vids, My job is to provide the statistical angle on your actions. Rest assured your comments, tweets, posts, votes all are huge input to the the equations for helping us understand these numbers. So keep it coming please. The sample size is small on the subjective side, so every chirp counts.

Both performers have tons of fans and clicks to coincide. No suprise the scene is getting so much attention since release. I watch the traffic, and its getting an unusual amount. So I can presume alot of pleasure going on out there.
I appreciate that WebMonkey, along with Mark, Clay and the gang do analyze all of these factors, and do not merely look at the "vote" that we see attached to the scenes. From reading his comments quoted above and other's, I get the impression that the raw numbers that we never see of "hits", "clicks" or "traffic", (all meaning the same thing), is the major factor in determining which kinds of models and scenes to present here. These guys are running a business, and it is in their best interest to provide models and scenes that will bring the most membership here, which will generate the highest revenues possible for the company. At the end of the day that is the goal of any business that wants to remain successful.

You make some good points Huh. Of course there can never be any wrong opinions in all of our individual tastes in porn entertainment. Opinions will always vary in large groups. And a free exchange of ideas and contrasting opinions is what makes a forum useful and entertaining. It would be the definition of boring if we all agreed on every single thing.

It's true that the cold starts do mix things up a bit. And of course there are some (perhaps quite a few) who can't stand the pre-scene banter and think it's boring and a waste of time. If you include Ross & Seth we've actually had three cold starts. Which even so as you would likely (and rightly) point out, is still not many.

Dear Huh,

Gutsy First Act for our first post. Have you been here before and you are incognito like some drone or something? I just admire the hostility your posting implies without any introduction or warm-up. Perhaps that is why you admire so much those scenes with "cold starts"! Good luck and, by means of an introduction, let me invite you to complete your contribution to the forum, both with or without "COLD STARTS". Just thinking about this, it seems this will certainly cum out as a handy thing this Winter.

Sincerely,

Stimpy

Hi Huh, I joined Broke Straight Boys in May, and I think I began commenting on the forum in June...although I'm not a confrontational person I'm far from being a 'yes' person either, and I have never, ever felt that my opinion has been dismissed or ignored by long standing members, in fact without exception I've been made feel welcome

Different opinions are essential to making a forum interesting and often begin a lively debate, which has been lacking lately, so welcome Huh, or welcome back Huh, whichever is appropriate.

The more, the merrier, say I.

Welcome to the Forum (from a fairly new member) and please
do make your contributions as virulent, vigorous and va-va-voomish
as you please.

The more individualistic and varied the contributions are, the more
interesting the Forum is for us all.

Again, welcome!

Huh? You are right and wrong, about everything you said.............and you remind me of two friends, that I have missed very much since they quit posting. The beauty, and curse, of opinions.....is that you will be right to some and wrong to others. That is what is so special about a place like this. Most of us LOVE having all different views represented, and find it somewhat boring when we are all of "like" mind.

Criticism and confrontation is something that we all face when we put ourselves out there, with an opinion. We must toughen our skin and be ready for it. If we all thought the same way, it would be a cookie cutter world, and most of us would not fit.

I actually thank God, that there are at least two sides to every argument......... I thank God that when I said Jimmy was an ASS, Mikey said he was being real. I do this because while I may not like someone, I would hate to think or feel, that no one liked them. For every defense, we need an offense. Balance keeps everything going.

You, and your opinions are welcome here. The old timers absolutely love new members. We do have disagreements, some large, some small. After the controversy 98% of the forum is still in like with each other..............kind of like real life.

I welocme Huh also. The caveat being that I'm not sure if he/she is really new, or a past or existing member simply using a new screen name. All it takes to set up a second avatar account is a different email address, a new screen name and a new passowrd. If so, it wouldn't be the first time in forum history that a member used multiple personas in here. In any case, Huh is still welcome to his/her opinions by any name of his/her choice.

Good post and comments HUH, for a "newbie" well thought out and expressed. Older members great comments towards HUH. See we all get along just fine!!! We can hash it all out at the "forumites BBQ" next year. See I haven't forgot everyone!!

When we first read the initial posts to this thread yesterday, we were "taken aback" by the idea that someone felt that the "older members sort of dominate any discussion and insist that their view is right while everyone else is wrong." But after thinking long and hard on this, we were reminded that personal opinion is not necessarily a personal attack, and we realize that we ourselves have often thought, if not said , that the youth or inexperience of some members was the cause for a particular statement. Huh?, we welcome your contributions, observations, thoughts and ideas. As you come to know us better, and we you, it is our hope that you will come to view each member of this Forum, as a friend with whom you can feel free to share anything without fear of rejection or repression.

By way of introduction, perhaps you would like to contribute to the thread "10 things..." in the General Forum? We would all love to know more about you.

As one of the oldest members on the forum, We welcome you with open arms, to Forumland!

On a whole different, but no less important point, we must say that we actually enjoyed the "cold start" to this video. Shock value alone made it worth while to us, and there appeared to be a great deal of eagerness demonstrated. Definitely a 4+ on the rate scale! Quite exciting to see a facial, BTW!
