Should we rename BSB?

I just got home. Worked my ass off all day, didn't lay around a Colorado mansion, getting high and whine! Christ who the shit cares?? We (Brad & Me) talk from our souls on the forum and nobody gives a damn especially the owners about real gay issues. Brad and me talked and since there are no models lately other then Dimitri who are really honest. Unlike the old days, screw it! I told Brad to cancel our membership tonight!

I can tell my kids when they are 15 to look for Broke Straight Boys TV and it wont be there!. Sad this is such a cock up! People like Logan who really did have issues he aired on Broke Straight Boys We all know he was far from a Broke Straight Boys and that is cool. Dimitri and Ronan Kennedy seemed honest. As did Logan and a lot of others. Most were not broke boys, but looking to find themselves. Logan did and pretty much admitted he was gay and hey, that's great! So why the hell didn't we get that story told to us months ago? It would have been so much better then what was aired and then we hear their true story.

Look I know finding real guys is hard as fuck. But don't insult us with players or arrogant ass wipes like Johnny Forza, Tyler and especially Kaden Alexander and others like you have in the past that can only talk about how great they are and not back ANYTHING up as a real person!.

Be honest, open, show us real relationships like two models that hit it off, decide to sleep together. They can't mess around because it has to be on camera when they do!! Fuck, show Paul & Damian, or anyone else in a real life situation. They love each other, wake up and they so badly want to have sex, Christ let them and film it. I NEVER want to hear another model insistently going on about how hung he is, how big he is because he is black, or how great he is and fake groans an screams during a scene!!! Jesus guys wake up!

YES this is mild mannered little Ricky that has been posting forever. But I have been through so much REAL shit these models could never EVER handle, and have to deal with the whining, sissy bullshit they give us!! ENOUGH!!! I am sick of this shit!

Most are high dogs that don't have a clue. Join the real world like me that busts my ass, pays taxes to let you guys lounge around and get high. YEAH come on, get pissed at me. I can line for line strike down every argument you have about who is contributing to our country and who is not!

Mark you want to delete me.. go for it dude. I have supported your site for 8 years. I have seen a few guys like me who feel the same way on your site as models and they have done well but didn't stay long. If you throw me out, it is obvious this isn't an true open forum.

Kick us out we don't care. At this point, unless something big happens, Brad and me have no intention of renewing our membership next month!

Broke Straight Boys TV.... Oh yeah right!!! Based on this shit, if it happens it will last at best a half of a season! Especially with the players you have now that you are posting in the ads. It COULD be TRUELY amazing but you don't get what we, the gay members really want to see!!

And you are counting on these guys to make it work??? Jesus Mark. You are a very smart guy, You have an amazing place, and you could find some incredible guys to make this a hit show. But from the ad's you have posted so far and the reason me and a lot of others are pissed at this site???? Dude, delay it and get new people!

I can tell you now, some of your members know what Brad and me have endured in our life for REAL!! And have talked to us many times! They ASK us for more details in our real life! I went through hell and back but have a fantastic story to tell at the end. THAT is something Broke Straight Boys TV could get an Emmy for... A TRUE highly decorated Marine that was badly wounded several times, saved a bunch of lives and who just happens to also be gay! Was apart from his real lover for 6 years and got back together stronger then ever!??? Come on!! I know there are many more like us out there.

I mean come on, HOW many supposed straight guys can you put on camera to have gay sex and NOT get old after 6 months!!!! Think about it Mark. It has to be more then that. Especially the crew you have now!

Guys like my Brad forced to be in the closet kicking ass in Afghanistan, won a shit load of medals saving his fellow brothers, wounded 4 times badly, holding kids in his arms that died because their own country blew up the school they attended and Brad was teaching these kids English. Teaching songs, English and baseball to! Brad held several kids he was teaching earlier in the day and had done so for weeks, and they died in his arms by their own country!!!! Yeah that is good TV telling the truth! Not to mention the nightmares Brad has had about it since then that I am there for him to get through!

Any award they give to TV shows, would eat that up! And like I said, our story is off limits but I know there are tons like it REAL, Honest Gay people in impossible situations, most in the closet trying to make it in our world!! But that is not what you are showing in your Broke Straight Boys-TV ads!!! IT all more of your guys spouting off how great they are and in real life, haven't done shit!
And we are just one of hundreds out there like us that won't watch that shit!

NOT these narcissists you have now on the site that are going to be on TV!!! God Damn wake up!!!!And NO, We, Brad & Me won't share his story now for anything! We HAVE shared a small amount with our friends that are members on your site and they ALL ask us to hear more!

Yes this is 100% NOT my normal nature. But I got home, I have been running on empty for 8 weeks, dealing with my Mom's life threating cancer, Brad was at flight school and I read some stuff on the BS forum and said,. "F" this!!

TIME FOR TRUTH!!!

I had a great day doing what I am doing and after reading a few minutes of the Broke Straight Boys forum I was pissed. We have paid good money for a long time and we are still getting nothing!! Wake up! Broke Straight Boys TV could be amazing. But from the excerpts I have seen, you are gonna loose a shit load of money!

I guess I am the only one with balls that has a solid view of marketing! But Broke Straight Boys TV as is, it wont make it two years at best. And the web site is sucking ass too and me and others are gone!

Bye, Bye,
Ricky!

Hey Rick,

Wow! What a post. A bit of rage is really good to express sometimes. There was a lot of truth in what you wrote, and I commend you for writing it.

The whole Broke Straight Boys TV thing may never make it to TV. I can hear the religious right and even just parents in general screaming across the internet and twitter already. Straight boys taking it up the ass for money????? AHHHHHH!!! There was a reality show that was going to be aired called Baby Daddy about some guy that had something like 10 kids by 6 or 7 women. The mothers of America and several women's groups got it canceled before it ever aired.

But, it may make it onto TV. I'm amazed at what people are watching. My cable carrier in the "On Demand" section listed the most watched programs. Big Brother, the Kardasian Show, and a few other "reality" shows were at the top. I was astonished. I'm not a big fan of reality TV, and I thought some of the better dramas would be at the top. The point is that if you don't get voted out of the house, or off the Island (that fucking show is still on!), or get a rose or live in a swamp, trailer park or on the tundra or aren't in some way humiliated or the butt of jokes, the show has a hard time making the top 10. Reality shows are cheap to produce in comparison to real shows. All they need is a few camera's and several people to act like assholes to drum up the fake drama. Consumerism and escapism are unfortunately the order of the day in many American lives. It's a sociological phenomena that I'd love to read whatever research is being done on it.

To your point about you and your partners life as compared to Broke Straight Boys TV, the difference is obvious and somewhat sad. The boys on Broke Straight Boys are just that. BOYS. Even at 24 or 25 many are usually aimless, lost, self involved, have substance abuse issues, poor educations, etc. They see the quick buck as the answer to whatever currently ails them. Some really need the fast cash. Some just need to explore their sexuality. I don't know that much of your story, but I do know that at some point both of you chose to enter the military, probably at a time of war and during DADT. That takes a bit more thoughtfulness, determination and strength of character than obsessing about yourself and dealing with the trauma of whether or not getting fucked by another guy for cash is really worth it. The truth is that they can do a few scenes, make some fast cash, decide it's not for them and go back to working part-time as a barrista and living in their parent's basement. No commitment to the future needed. The sad part is that these guys are really the "lost boys" of legend. It's not that they're bad guys or aren't trying to find their way, and some of them eventually do, but at this point in many of their lives they really have no clue about what it takes to push through whatever barriers face them and move toward manhood. DChristopher has written several times about the difficult histories many of them have and how keeping them in line is a constant effort. That sounds more like the problems teachers have with high school kids, not young men. Yes, young guys can get a little crazy. I went to college right after high school and did the whole Frat thing. I had a fucking great time and it was a transition that let me stay young for a longer time, but I had to keep up my grades, my commitments to my frat brothers (yes, there really are some and I was an officer for two years), work part-time, and eventually enter the real work force. I had a direction. You and your partner chose to make an even greater commitment that I'm sure made you move toward manhood in a hurry. Peoples lives depended on you making the right decisions and taking very seriously the situations you faced everyday.

I'd love to see your story and others like you on TV. I think it would be really compelling. But not "reality TV" which is a real misnomer. It has little to do with reality. I'd rather see stories like yours treated with seriousness and respect on something like Frontline or POV on PBS. Seriously, they do some really compelling stories on those programs. I have no idea how they decide what to do, but they did something awhile back after DADT ended about the relationships of soldiers and the strain it had put on them to stay in the closet or what happened after they were ratted out by someone.

Sorry, this post is too long winded! In closing I just want to say that I admire you guys even if I just know a bit of your story. Don't let the petty shit get you down. If you stay a member of Broke Straight Boys, remember what it really is. Porn. At this point, not very good porn. The forum is fun, occasionally a bit serious, but based on erotic fantasies. The drama always dies down. Members get crushes and all of us use porn to either get off or get away for awhile.

A good rant is good for the soul! I wish you both the best...

Stripe

Indeed Stripe, many of us get heated and emotional about the drama with the models both on and off camera, but at the end of the day this is still a porn site, and the type of guys who go into porn usually have issues that lead them into this line of work.

And to Rick Bell and Bradley Reed, I don't think that you guys should in any way compare yourselves to the models here, or to the proposed "reality" TV show that we've been hearing about for lo these many years. Rick and Bradley are real young men who have devoted a part of their young lives to serving their country and fellow human beings stateside and abroad. And the two of you are proud gay men who finally have had your dreams come true of being reunited as a loving couple. The two of you are productive members of society who have found yourselves a long time ago, unlike the models who are taking a diversion from the true realities of life, while they are living the life of being porn stars, but that is only a stage of their lives which will prove to be relatively short, as the public is fickle and we always want newer, younger, hotter guys to get off to.

If I had a son or a nephew or close acquaintance who asked my advise about doing porn, I would try to dissuade them as it is still porn and will probably not prepare them for the realities of life that they will encounter after their porn careers are over.

Wow! These are fascinating posts guys. Thank you to Rick, Stripe and Mikey. With of course a shoutout to Bradley who has contributed more (and suffered more) on behalf of our country than many of us will ever know.

Deraest Rick,

I don't presume to put myself in your shoes and I would never insult you by claiming to know what you are going through. I'm sure I don't even know the half of it. I'm very very sorry to hear about your mother. I pray that medical science can help her. With the disclaimer above still in effect, I want to offer a few thoughts. I believe the target of the rage in your post is somewhat misplaced. You are tired, emotionally drained...and as usual, working your ass off contributing to society and trying to get ahead through that hard work.

The site and the mini-dramas of the models are perhaps a microcosm (but certainly not a perfect metaphor) for much of popular culture right now. I couldn't give a flip about Paris Hilton, the Kardashians or any of that crap for instance. I never watch any of it. I know it's difficult when the pressures of life are bearing down so hard and you see popular culture as it is now. We see people on reality shows contributing absolutely nothing to society and making huge sums of money (while gaining near adoration by the masses) by virtue of the "famous for being famous" phenomenon.

Having said all that, I don't see the models here in exactly the same way. They are not making huge sums of money. Even though it might be considered a lot of money per hour...I'm sure that for many of them it's barely enough to keep their heads above water. Especially so for those trying to live on their own. They are not winning multi-year multimillion dollar contracts for people to watch them go to the spa and sit around gossiping. Unlike others in popular culture the models here are expected to do some work for their money. Plus, many of them are coming from backgrounds that are usually the exact opposite of lives of privilege. So I do feel compassion for them.

As to your characterizations of Johnny Forza and others...I'll actually agree with you on the first one. While I liked his body and some of his scenes, Johnny turned into a seemingly immature, lazy and entitled person. I think his time here actually slowed down his maturation into adulthood rather than helping it along. I don't feel the same way about Tyler and Kaden Alexander. I understand some of the reasons why you feel the way you do. I completely agree that they are overexposed right now. With one model in particular I'd say that his stage persona has been badly mismanaged. And that's not all his fault, even though he's the one suffering in the ratings and reviews.

Back to the main point of you post though... I'm going through a similar experience with a friend of mine. He's 54 years old and in the hospital dying of a brain tumor along with cancer in other parts of the body. He probably has about 3 weeks or less. When I make it home from the hospital I obviously don't have as much interest in getting wrapped up in the dramas of the forum. When you're dealing with serious problems in your life it tends to make other issues (that would usually entertain or maybe even be somewhat thought provoking) look minute and trivial in comparison.

Of course as you allude to, the content of the site lately has been lacking in the quality many of us would like to see. These temporary low points always have a way of climbing back up though. I care very much for all the people in here. From you and Brad, to everyone in the forum, to the staff and management of the site...and of course to the models. Given just that one example above of various things going on in my own life, I've been very busy and haven't had much appetite for the forum myself lately either. So I'm right there with you.

I hope you and Brad will reconsider leaving the site. As you say, you guys always post from the heart. Why not avail yourselves of any means possible to get your inspirational stories out there? Why shut off an outlet to share the story of two positive gay role models who are pursuing the American Dream through hard work and tenacity...and not a small amount of tears? Especially when you're in full agreement that right now you don't have documentary crews hounding you to get your story out to the public.

I've also found that while some of the content of the site and even the forum can be vacuous and mind-numbing at times, that it can also be a source of entertainment and escapism from the very serious real life problems of which you speak. Sometimes we need that also. And of course this very conversation we're having now among friends, shows that the forum can indeed speak to the truly important thought provoking issues of the human condition.

We really shouldn't compare our own lives with lives of the models as it really isn't fair on the models because we don't know what they are really like. Remember a recent DC post who said most of the models are really nice off camera, and I'm sure they really are.

Not everyone is society (in this case America) can get a good education and even some of those who get good grades struggle to find work. We must also get away from the fact that all our models are dumb, because they are not. Remember Logan, who was studying for a medical degree, Tyler Evans was also quite intelligent, Jason Matthews' literacy was akin to Ambi's and the list goes on. Out of the recent models then Ian is not thick, Skyler also doesnt look as if he's from the ghetto, neither does Ronan Kennedy.

We are individuals who chose not to get into the porn industry. Some of us could have but did not, some are too old as there wasn't that much opportunity when they were youngsters (no offence Mike). Therefore I think it is wrong to imply that models get into porn because they are stupid or lacking education.

With regard to Broke Straight Boys TV - Well each time I hear it mentioned I have a little chuckle to myself, but maybe one day it will suddenly appear on our screens. I just hope that my eyes and hearing are okay by then.

I have to agree with johnny here as this a nice post and I couldn't of said it better myself. Dan

I never said, nor did I mean to imply that models go into porn due to stupidity or lack of education. I agree that Logan, Tyler Evans Ian and Jason Matthews are intelligent young men and I would add Blake Bennet who I met and have read his writings here too, and from his recent thread, Dimitri is obviously highly intelligent and expresses himself very well too.

I just feel that generally speaking "gay porn" is not an option that most young guys would turn to, no matter how dire their financial situations may be. It is not even something that they would consider. I've spoken before about spending four weeks a year vacationing in Fort Lauderdale basically in the 1980's and I met a lot of guys of the same age and general body types as the Broke Straight Boys models. I would pay them to spend some time with me in the late afternoon, (Afternoon Delight, so to speak lol).

The young men that I met during that time period were often very similar to the straight guys who've come to work on Broke Straight Boys over the years, and it was interesting to me that so many of the guys I met reminded me of each other over a decade. They had a wild side to them, living on the streets or staying in really cheap rooms, hanging with their buddies getting drunk or stoned, and always looking to get laid. When I would get to know some of my companions, they usually came from broken homes, didn't get along with their step dads or uncles or aunts or grandparents who they left home to live the fun party life. And many had drug issues beyond smoking pot.

So my belief is that there is a type of straight identifying young men who will turn to gay porn or taking money from an older man for a blowjob or more, and it is certainly not for all good looking and fit, 18-25 year old straight guys. And it has little to do with intelligence, although many quit school at an early age, but it was for reasons other than lack of intelligence.

Hey Tampa:

Not ceramics but you are very close! It's "underwater basket weaving" that keeps us occupied in what little spare time we have!
Rick is trying his best to weave me a necklace but finds that the "pearl necklace" is much easier and more fun to create!!!

;-) Brad

That's cute Brad! Basket weaving is in. Who knew? lol
