After the marriage register opened up for all sexes in Holland, nobody noticed any disadvantage. It turned out to be good for for business!

Here the state marriage registers opened April 1st 2001, for same sex marriages. All it took was a minor change to a law... The first gay marriage took place here in Amsterdam; at midnight and the Mayor mr. Cohen presided...

And still I do not feel urge to enter the wedding boat. Are you in a relationship yourself Mr. WebMonkey? Or are you doomed to adore straight guys...

State and church should be separated. And a state marriage should have nothing to do with a church marriage.

PS: Who wants to marry Scorpio...? The man needs to find him a husband real bad. Anyone? All offers welcome!

In the UK the Queen is head of the church and also the head of the government. The issue is the word "marriage" which according to the English church is the giving of vows in front of God. The church therefore consider marriage a religious sacrement.

As I said before, non church or religious gay "bonding" is done via a civil ceremony which has the same legal rights as a hetereosexual marriage.
