Rest In Peace .....Lauren Bacall..
What a life she had.The best Book I ever read about Old Hollywood was a book by Lauren Bacall.
And I have read them all.
It was called .. By Myself...She was there and saw it all. A must read for any interested in Old Hollywood.
My Dad used to tell me I new more about nothing that would get me any where in life than any one he new.
Being a fat little kid I went to fantasy land. I am still there. I have read them all. This is a must read.
Gave me so much joy. Loved you Miss Bacall. RIP..johnny

I am not a fan of Hollywood as you are johnny, but to me Lauren Bacall always was a totally classy lady. I am very sorry to hear of her passing too.

Remember the song, "Key Largo", with the lines?

"We had it all
Just like Bogie and Bacall
Starring in our old late, late show
Sailing away to Key Largo"

I concur, mikey, about Key Largo. I loved them in that movie. And of course in her later years Bacall hit the boards on Broadway and won two Tonys.

I looked to listen to her deep voice.
I read this quote from her:
I don't think being the only child of a single parent helped. I was always a little unsteady in my self-belief. Then there was the Jewish thing. I love being Jewish, I have no problem with it at all. But it did become like a scar, with all these people saying you don't look it.

th

mikyank, what the hell are you doing?! Showing johnny something like this; I mean it's really hard to choose between the bobby or the nightstick!:bump:

Lauren about her children. This is also, to me, speaking volumes about anyone you love:

“My life has had meaning, with the friendships full and valuable and essential to me. My children, Steve, Leslie, and Sam, are all different–all first-rate human beings with high standards–whom I completely and unequivocally adore–don’t always agree with–but always admire and respect. They all have wit and a sense of humor and, thank God, I have hung on to mine.”

"You know how to whistle don't you? Just put your lips together and blow"

Lauren Bacall in To Have and Have Not

Here is the whistle scene, the one that brought her fame.
