The new release of Tyler & Leon has brought back the old subject of the scenes being shown out of order. We were told that when the new HD presentations started, we would see them in the order in which they were shot. But the new episode has confused and caused questions on the forum as to Tyler's real age, and the fact that Leon was recently seen with a different look, and more experienced with gay sex.

David has posted again that all of the scenes are clearly labeled with dates, etc. So I would ask Mark again to please keep them in order, or at least close to the order that they were shot.

I know that when this subject comes up, some forumites say, "It's only porn. Who gives a fuck about the order?", etc. But to myself and others I'm sure, we look at this as a quasi reality site, and we do listen to what the models say, and we do enjoy watching their progress, and comfort level in their gay sexual activity, so the continuity is important. We all come here for somewhat different reasons. I've been surprised when some members say that they fast forward through the interviews with the guys. To me that is as important as the sex, as I can begin to size them up, and see who they are, and it then makes the sex all the hotter.

If we just wanted to watch attractive young guys having sex, there are ton's of sites out there. But the "soap opera" aspect of Broke Straight Boys makes it unique and I would ask Mark to PLEASE try to present the scenes as close as possible in the order in which David filmed them.

Thank you from a very big fan of this site. :001_tt2:

I agree with you Mike. Sometimes the sequence is off by a couple weeks, so it's not really noticeable, but this scene was 11 months old. Tyler may look the same right now, but Leon could almost change his name and pretend to be someone else, his looks have changed so much.

I totally agree with you Mike.

This an important issue for some of us, and not as important to others who maybe are here just for a quick jack-off session and don't care about the storyline or the progression of the str8 bois to the darkside.

One example would be Leon (sigh), we are first introduced to my future ex-boifriend the middle of April 2010 doing a solo. We next see him in a 3 way with Sean and Jayce, sucking cock for the first time as we see it. A month later we see him topping for the first time with the same 2 guys. In between those shoots, we see him and Scott, BTS, at an event in Orlando where Scott is reluctant to remove his shirt for fear he is too skinny and Leon remarks that he would not have had sex with him if he was'nt attractive. Then we are treated to what I beleive is one of the hottest scenes ever, the hotel fuck scene. From there we go to Leon's "first" oral scene with Tyler where he "sucks cock for the first time". Then 3 months after his initial appearance, Leon is paired with MikeR in what is described by Leon as his 2nd appearance on the futon and his "first time sucking cock", again. A few days later we are treated to his first bottom scene with MikeR as a top, and Leon takes it like a champ. A week later, we see the scruffy, unkept Leon taking a cock in the ass from Jon and loving it! Followed by a 3 way flip flop with Jon and Gino. All this leads to the episode we just saw with Tyler, which was filmed in Sept 2009, 6 months before we were introduced to Leon for the first time. Confused?

Now think about all the great trilogys we have had and how the excitement grew from episode 1 to episode 3, the anticipation of seeing the guys go from jacking off together , to sucking each other's cocks and ultimately, the fuck scene. Donovan and Brenden, MikeR and Josh, Torrin, Aiden and Steve, Zakk and Kyler and of course Diesal and Jimmie to name but a few. Would those episodes have had the same impact if they had been shown out of order, or months apart? I think not. But this will continue to be an issue we will have to contend with because ultimately, the bottom line is, it is not important to Mark, because if it were, he could make it happen, he is after all the big kahuna. Jon has suggested a couple times that a date of production disclosure be placed on the film. This would be a cheap and easy way to appease many of the members, but that suggestion has fallen on deaf ears. So get used to it guys, things will change only when Mark wants them to change, it is decision alone, not David's or anyone elses.

Are we ever going to see Scott and Leon paired up on the futon? Inquiring minds want to know.

Is it possible to get an informal timeline of episode shoot order (not publish order) for the Leon scenes (and some others which seem especially random)? If BluMedia wants to publish these scenes out of order, that doesn't mean I have to watch them that way. I'm patient. If order is important to me in a TV series I typically will not watch any episodes until it comes out on DVD at Netflix so I can enjoy the full piece in continuity. (Yeah, I know, people tell me I'm weird about that.) Some scenes (and TV shows) are fine as stand-alones as there is no real narrative through-line or character progression. But as MikeYank and Jason have pointed out, some of the regular models here definitely go through a progression that is a part of their Broke Straight Boys "story."

In reading Jason's post detailing the Leon scenes (nice, btw!) I was trying to figure out the shoot order, but I am still lost. Can we assume that his solo was shot before all the others? Then which was his first scene with another guy? Tyler or MikeR, or a different one? Can it be gleaned from Leon's appearance? It seems like the BTS hotel scene was one of Leon and Scott's later ones, and was published shortly after its shooting (to give the members something special, and it certainly was!) I'd like to get an idea of the progress of it all. For example, to know if the Tyler-Scott scene was before or after the first Tyler-Leon scene, etc. D&E could provide the shoot dates (or at least order relative to other shoots, if for some reason the dates are privileged info.)

it is abundantly clear that many of us are unhappy with the lack of sequential shoots. As the site exists to keeps its paying subscribers happy I would hope that this will be rectified soon. There can be no reason for a shoot to take a year before it is screened, totally out of order with later shoots.

LOL clock12, I'm the same way about TV shows and having to see them in order before I'll watch them. And I definitely agree with you and the others here, that it would be greatly appreciated if these scenes were presented in order. It shouldn't be that difficult. Even if not all of them can be shown strictly in order, at least there shouldn't be this much hopping around between scene, like with Leon.

This will get better. I put the scenes in order as best as I can but I'm going off the way they are numbered. I can't just put the scenes in exact number order because then we would have 3-4 updates with the same guys. I have no idea why this scene was older than the other updates right next to it. My editor is now scheduling updates and he is aware of putting them in order.

Thank you Mark. I really appreciate that you will attempt to keep the scenes in sequence. Of course if a model flies into town and shoots three scenes at David's studio, there is no need to present them consecutively, if it is not a trilogy as a few recent episodes were. However showing that particular model's scenes in order would make the continuity of the storyline and the progress of the model's foray into gay sex, much more enjoyable.

I appreciate that you read our comments, and take action when you see the validity in our points, or requests. The search feature was long requested, and promised by you, and you eventually did come though. And getting the scenes in order will also help to improve an already great site.

Thank You Mark for taking the time to respond, it is greatly appreciated. I have no doubt in my mind that you can accomplish this task with the great support staff that you must have to back you up. All you have to do is set the expectation and perhaps devise a catalog system so that the films come to you in a batch or sequence that you or your staff find works best for you. Perhaps engage Tyler in some way to devise a plan of action.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen -J

Mark, thank you very much... You are awesome guy...:001_rolleyes:

Seriously, I think there is a painfully quick and easy workaround for this issue. One of my favorite sites literally has two dates as the first two lines of text in the scene narrative/description (and are also both listed at the top of the scene update, in bold, as header type text...I'll use made up dates):

Production Date: 03/22/2010
Release Date: 08/21/2010

Would that be a good fix for everyone? I realize it may be easier said than done for the production staff however, as they may not keep records of the actual production dates. But perhaps it would be somewhat doable going forward?

This was an excellent post Jason, very well researched and thought out. Also, extremely well written. Hats off to Jason!!! :001_tt2:

Good suggestion Abe but please get them to put it the format that the rest of the world understands. DD/MM/YYYY LOL

Abe,

I can answer this in part. When I visited the studio this past February, David gave me the full tour of the studio. Our beloved Tyler is the one in charge of dating and keeping, in order, the vids as they are done. They are in his desk, top draw, organized by date are those vids are then sent to Mark. (At least that is how they were when I visited). Too bad I did not take a photo of those organized vids.

As for the backlog of vids, I too was somewhat surprised to see a vid almost 1 year old. As memory serves me they normally have a 4-6 month backlog. But one other thing to keep in mind is that they could easily do 4-6 shots per week (perhaps more?). If we are only seeing 3 per week that backlog could easily grow beyond 6 months. In fact, I remember names of models that we discussed would be coming down the line, and I still have not see them, so perhaps they have more than a 6 month supply.

Hope this is somewhat helpful.

Live Long and Prosper,

Vicekid

Please take this as a constructive criticism, one only has to look at the updates for the last month and see that your statement "we would have 3-4 updates with the same guys" really doesn't hold up....... Go ahead and look. Gino, Jon, Diesal, MikeR, Leon, Jake and a few others. The only difference is that these scenes were probably shot at different times (that's another subject). So if you post in order for 3 or 4 scenes or do what seems to be what is being done, the end result is the same.

While I understand that management has had to endure some unpleasantness as of late, that has nothing to do with promises made (I've been reading threads even as a guest). Either Blu/D&E does what it says or doesn't. But don't kvetch that people moan when you have not lived up to what you have said you would do.......... again, this is just one point of view not an attack. Plainly spoken, yes, throwing tomatoes at management, no.
