Kodi, where are you?

Kodi's films speak for themselves score wise. Most of them are well up there with the best and he appears quite a few times in the members favourite section on the home page.

You are absolutely correct, dear Jon, but as we've had pointed out to us several times, there really is no clear formula for what makes a scene qualify as a members favorite, (Other than his scenes with Jimmy, most of my favorite model, Colin's, scenes rank as highly as, or higher than, Kodi's, but are not listed in members favorites.) and rankings are not always accurate, as not everyone votes, and not on every scene - for instance, since I do not care for Kodi, I don't rate his scenes, so as not to skew the rankings. I assume that others feel the same way, and only vote on the scenes they like, or if a particular scene really gets to them in some way? (Other members, please feel free to let me know if you vote this way too.)

Also, some people enjoy watching girl on girl porn, transsexual porn or straight porn. There's nothing wrong with it, but that doesn't mean that I have to enjoy it too. To each his own! It's our unique and individual perspectives that makes this forum such a rich and wonderful experience!

Much love,
Rob

You've said it all Rob! I totally agree, and that is why I give the results of the "voting" here little credence, as not all members vote all of the time, or perhaps at all, and some folks vote with an agenda, and not to express their honest opinion, but to make a point.

A few months ago WebMonkey had joined us on the forum as a frequent poster and explained that the success of a scene was based on many factors, including the "votes", but also comments on the forum, private messages and emails to management, tweets, and other forms of communication, but he also said that the "hits" on the scenes told a big part of the story, and that information is reserved strictly for management.

After hearing the sad news about Kodi's troubles, I feel terrible for him, but I had grown tired of his "act" on Broke Straight Boys, after being enamored by his beauty and charming personality going back to the "fried bologna" BTS. Under the circumstances of what we've been told, I wouldn't mind seeing a new Kodi scene just to know he is okay, but despite the popularity of his films, on the favorites boards, he is no longer one of my favorite porn performers, but I hope for the very best for the young man who we know as Kodi.

Thank you, sir!

Glad to see that you survived Sandy! (I'd been avoiding the thread as I was still awaiting news of my mother, brothers and family.)

I thought the whole purpose of voting was to give management an idea of how members liked the scene. How can management learn anything from this tool if only the members who liked the scenes vote. I vote on all scenes. I may not comment here on the forum if I don't enjoy one, but at least I vote.

FYI

As a returning member from the BSB1 days, they used to do favorites different back then. It was actually based on the ratings. At one time there was a real battle between forum members between Tyler and Danny. I remember rating a video and then right away looking at the favorite list and a Danny video had replaced a Tyler video. In the battle of the hottest, I once commented in the forum that Danny had like 6 videos in the favorite group while Tyler only had 3 (they were in some together) so Danny was the hottest and most popular. The Tyler fans then got busy and went out and stuffed the ballot box. The next day the number and ranking of Tyler's videos went up.Then the reverse happend. In case you don't know, as they say in Chicago, there is a way to "vote early and vote often".

Obviously, that is not how they handle the favorites now.

Rbar, you are right on.

Every member has their own tastes and desires. There is a huge difference between what makes a video hot for different members. We have some female members who may like the more intimate moments. People who really have to believe that at least the models appear to be straight when they started on the site. I know totally gay people who really have that fantasy that they could pick up a purely straight man to have sex with once or on an ongoing basis. For them this site is a dream come true. Personally, I am very much bi. I know gay people who have no desire to see and will not look at straight porn. For me it would increase my fantasy that the models are actually straight if they also had the models do some straight porn. I am about to bust a nut thinking about seeing Ayden fuck some hot chick in a video and then watching his video with Blake.
:masterbate:

The problem I have some people on the forum and/or their comments is that they show no respect for other people's tastes and opitions. They even appear to get angry or insulted if you don't agree with them and their tastes. TAKE A CHILL PILL!!!!

Remember, different strokes for different folks!!

To end with a philosophical statement from a friend of mine -

Everybody has two things, opinions and assholes. The problem is they both usually stink.

I agree with Mikey. This is just a temporary job. It is great if they build relationships with Mark, Clay, Chad, or each other, but it is not the responsibility of Broke Straight Boys to send a babysitter home with them, to guide their daily life..........unless Mark opens up the Broke Straight Boys babysitting service..........

Very, very, sad. Unfortunately 18 year old guys don't always make the wisest choices, just like the rest of us. Thankfully, my bad choices never involved the law, or drugs, or STDs........just embarrassment, hurt feelings, and money.

You are both right to some degree.

First of all, these are legally adults who are ultimately responsible for their own actions.

At the same time, people complain that business only cares about making money and could care less about the people. People say business (remember Broke Straight Boys is a business run for the pupose of making money) basiclly consider people as expendable after they have gotten thier use out of them. Specifically, the porn has and justifiably so, most likely the worst reputation in this area.

Where does that leave us? I personally believe business and people in general have some responsibility for assisting their employees and people in general. No, they can and should not be baby sitters, but at least they should try to be aware issues in their employees lives and provide some support/guideance when needed.

Look at Kodi. He started making videos either earlier this year or last year. He had to be at least 18 when he started. I read in the forum that Kodi had just graduated from high school. That means he most likely started doing porn while he was in high school. While he may legally be an adult, he obviously really is not yet there. A responsible and caring business/ employer should be at least providing some counselling to these young men/boys. There is also a profit motive for doing this. While some did like Kodi, I and others did. So now he is in jail and is an unavailable asset to Broke Straight Boys to make videos for their customers.

Only Broke Straight Boys can tell if they are a responsible business that cares about its people or are they a business that just treats its people as a pound of flesh to be used and then thrown away. To me Broke Straight Boys has shown in some ways that they really care about the young men that do their videos. They basically always make sure the models use condoms. That is an example of employee safty first over profit.

You are right, but, if I don't like a model, then I think it would be unfair to rate the scene as it would not be an unbiased opinion, and as Mikeyank pointed out, I would have an agenda in doing so, or doing it to make a point.

Again, using Colin as an example, since he is my favorite model, I have voted on all of his scenes EXCEPT the one with Kodi and the ones with Jimmy, 2 models that I don't like. I must not be the only one who does this, since all of Colins scenes are 4.2 or higher, except these 3. (and his toy scene, which to my mind, is not what people here want to see).

In order to give management an idea of how I feel about a scene, I comment on the scenes thread. Again, different strokes for different folks! ;)

That is also the problem I have here - not the differing opinions, but the belligerence that certain people reply with when they disagree with you, or you with them.

Several of the models who join us on the forum from time to time, have all praised Blu Media as a caring employer. (see almost any post by Blake, esp his video blogs, or Jason). In talking to the 2 of them, and my recent conversation with Colin, they all have told me that Broke Straight Boys is a great place to work. Considering that porn does have a bad reputation, the boys are lucky to be here, with a company that does take care of them, instead of some of the shadier companies that would not only exploit their vulnerabilities, going so far perhaps as to even supply drugs to their models, as is so prevalent in the industry.

While they can certainly guide, no one - employer, friend, partner, parent - can stop someone from making bad choices, and ultimately, we are all responsible for ourselves. Live and learn. Hopefully whatever Kodi may have done is not that bad an infraction, and he will be released shortly and go on with his life, having learned his lesson.

thanks, honey. you said that well. my perceptions and interpretations exactly. they want their boys to do well, to live happy lives. but there is only so much handholding "mother" can do before it's enabling.

Well said, my friend. I totally agree with you. Broke Straight Boys seems to be an oasis in the porn industry as far as the care they give to their models/employees....another reason I have remained a loyal customer.
