However, I do feel that Broke Straight Boys has just moved too far from its original inception. As I stated earlier, the boys no longer seem that broke, or that straight, and they do get into hard core sex so quickly. The title of this site offers the promise of a fantasy, that once was believable, but no longer holds the same reality.

Mark, I too appreciate your heartfelt response to our concerns, and I understand as well as anyone that it is impossible to meet all of our needs as we all have a different perception of what constitutes a hot model or scene.

However I very much agree with JLipps that the site currently has strayed too far away from the basic concept of having believably straight guys reacting the way a basically straight guy would to the idea of having gay sex for pay, with all of the conflict in his reactions as his Broke Straight Boys journey begins and evolves.

I liked the concept at the beginning of BSB2 of going back to basics, giving us backstories and mentioning the money, however Clay was too over the top with the literally throwing the money at the boys, and of course making them say demeaning things during the scenes. But I believe it was more the way Clay executed the scenes than the concept that was the problem.

There is a delicate balance in how these scenes are presented, and I've always asked for a diversity in the type of models and scenes presented. While many do enjoy the passion and kissing, but I'd like to see a tad more of the Jimmy Johnson types here too, who are willing to top and have their dick sucked, but proclaim their straightness and that they are not gay and will not bottom, and will reluctantly suck dick or kiss for the money, but is clearly not their thing. I think that sprinkling in these "uber straight" guys will satisfy hardcore fans of real believable straight guys, while other models and scenes can involve those "hard working" boys that many seem to love who will do it all on camera.

To Mark: I just wanted to also wish you well in your healing process. I am not sure what your injury is but, take care. I just wanted to thank Broke Straight Boys for this Forum. I may not always share the same views as some of the posts, but I do read many and gain interesting and often beneficial insight. Reading some posts prompt me to go back and review scenes with a different perspective. Often times pointing out something I missed. Sometimes I end up liking the scene more! As I really stumbled upon this site in my quest to find Straight looking, acting, appearing etc... type of guys having M2M interactions, this is the only site that I have stayed with and probably will stay with. I never gave any thought to what really goes on behind the scenes to deliver this kind of service but, I am really starting to appreciate all the work involved. From the management, the models and the viewers perspective. I know that there are a lot of different "palates" out there. Trying to please all of them would be impossible. Satisfying many of them (mine included) seems to work. Thanks for all you do!

It was really like being home and watching your two best friends having great sex together on your couch. David was able to give us a lot of models who were just as open and genuine. Like all sites, there were also some models on BSB1 that were terrible, fake as hell, way older then they said they were etc. But give credit where it’s due, David did find some truly stunningly hot guys we grew to really like as people as well.

BUT… I also remember some members bitching about David talking too much to the guys and sometimes he did!! But he had far more episodes where you really felt like you grew up with many of the guys. I prefer that to the generic “drop your shorts, shoot your load and get out” filming with no intriguing dialog at all.

As far as BSB2, I “love” the fact that they film bonus segments on most of the models so we can get to know them. Many have been really in depth and we are able to develop a great feel for who the model is in real life and their struggles or victories in life. I like those interviews way better than the two guys wrestling today or the group interviews on the couch.

Yeah in some ways, David “was better” at seeing a moment as he was filming that he capitalized on where David could get the guys to kiss, swallow a load, change up positions to be more intimate etc. Sometimes Clay misses an opportunity we all see coming and then bitch about after on the forum. But everybody thankfully is different. I am not saying Clay is bad at all, he just shoots video a different way and his personal style is different.

I also like the fact that many times in BSB1, the envelope was pushed and he got the guys doing oral to swallow loads or rim etc. I find that hot and love it in real life too. If two guys can bareback, what’s wrong with a little protein snack and making the video a lot hotter at the same time? I wish BSB2 would get the guys to do more.

I feel that BSB2 has become a good site and I hope they don’t lose the intimacy in getting to know the models and go all Hollywood on us with Broke Straight Boys-TV. Or become another Bel Ami or something. Sure their guys are stunning but watching those kind of sites is like looking at a painting in an art museum that you know you can never have.

BSB2 started out VERY shaky for me and many others. I almost walked away from the site after a couple of months after the change but then they finally started getting more likeable, better looking guys that show some personality. I hope BSB2 actually does more filming of the models on their free time, getting to know them better.

Sadly like all things in life, you can’t please everyone. So let’s just see where the road takes us.

I've watched them all babes xxx I too am a big David fan but don't forget even THEN the scenes were scripted, and that includes the interviews. There are good points and not so good points for Broke Straight Boys 1 and 2, just as there are a variety of films to suit all members.

Some here in forumland seem to forget that, and/or think because we vote and post that the site should cater to our wants, divergent as they might be. The forum is so diverse that if Mark and his team try to cater to our every want, wish, desire, and whim, they would all be blubbering patients in a mental institution.

We have no idea what type of equipment Mark has to measure his audience. I infer from what he posted here that at a minimum he knows how many hits each scene gets from ALL viewers. As he indicated, he tries new things and sees how the customers react. What does he do if a scene which is well liked by the forum posters gets a negative reaction from the totality of viewers? He has to go with what works for the most members; after all he is in business to make money. Blumedia is his livelihood.

Then we get to the criticism that the post Broke Straight Boys 1.0 scenes have been lacking in "believably straight" (as if there is only one definition for that term) models. I would like for any one or more of those who make such criticism to go through the models who have been with us longer than just one or two scenes since Broke Straight Boys 2.0 started on 4/2/11 and list those who are NOT believably straight in their eyes and why not. We keep on reading this criticism but never get any examples.


We go through this tortuous exercise every so often. But the simple fact is that this site will never please all of us all of the time. How many times hasn't that statement been made? Mark will use whatever he has at his disposal to make scenes which result in the highest favorable ratings for his site from ALL viewers. Stowe, I consider participating in these type of threads, as a ritual which I enjoy, as they do arise periodically. As you are aware, I am a big sports fan, as my avatar and screen name, "mikeyank" indicate. I have often heard that "Sports are merely games; the toy store of life". If that is the case, then the world of porn may be the adult toy store of life, and I never take any of this all that seriously, and I'm glad that you do not either.

We are all paying to be here, so it should always be a pleasure, and not a chore to either watch the porn or participate in the forum. I still enjoy the former from time to time, and the latter most times.

On a personal note I hope you know that I do and will always wish you the best on your health. Whatever will give you maximum mobility and the best quality of life is the prayer that I send up for you.

I'm sure it would be much easier if every member was of the same mind as to what they wanted. Much of the advice from members is contradictory. In mgmt I'm sure you just have to try to figure out what will appeal to most members. Sometimes you'll strike the right balance and other times no.

The fact that I know you read just about everything on here in regards to feedback on the site gives me a lot of satisfaction as a customer. I know that over the last 5 years you rarely ever go more than 24 hours, tops without logging in to read the latest in here. Even times when my opinions might be in the minority and my advice goes unheeded, I still appreciate that someone in mgmt is listening.

I also hope you and others in your staff realize that whether we are passionately praising a scene or passionately critiquing its perceived flaws, that it all shows how much we care. It's rather difficult to be passionate about something for which you have no interest or investment. lol The most passionate among us share your desire to see the site become as successful as possible.

Mark, I too wish you well in your health and also appreciate that there are only 24 hours in a day and believe it or not, you should have a work/life balance. Two months ago, a few things happened on the site that I didn't like and I seriously thought about leaving. After some private consultation/conversations with some friends on here, they convinced me to stay for a while to see how things have panned out.

Although times are hard in this great big wide world of ours, when I sit back and realise what I get for my subscription fee, compared with what I would get on another porn site, then I do realise that we are getting a good deal here. I pay around £13 a month for Broke Straight Boys here in the uk and I think that is a great deal. I spend more than that on lunch and refreshments at work per day and if I go out for a beer or a drive then the money soon clocks up.

So basically, when you put all the things that this site offers in the shopping basket, we all get an excellent deal. However, the quality of the main films is a bit sinusoidal, so if this could be levelled out then it would make things better.

I'm quoting these two posts because they express eveything I wanted to tell you, Mark.
And as someone who personally lives with too many health issues to count, I wish you nothing but the best. Try to get some time for yourself, though. You don't want to burn out, either.
