Okay, new forum friends. I learned something today about an old schoolmate that made my month and maybe my year.

Picture this. There's a classic bad boy at my school - handsome, muscles everywhere, cigarettes behind the gym after every class...but he's also a jock. The quarterback, no less. His name is Sonny and he's a year ahead of me. I don't know him at all but of course I know *of* him because everyone does.

Anyway, after school he became a personal trainer and wouldn't-you-know-it, an MMA fighter just like our new pal Cage Kafig (there's even clips of Sonny's matches on YouTube)!

Lives in Colorado, runs a gym, MMA training camp. Loves to wear his cowboy hat.

With me so far?

Now, cast your mind back just a year or two. "Fifty Shades of Grey" becomes a hit and there soon follows a stream of BDSM mommy porn - most of it only published online. One such effort is a series called "Big Girls Don't Cry" by an author named Gretchen Lane that goes a step further than "Fifty" by being BDSM, BBW mommy porn. The stories concern a sad, lonely overweight woman who joins a gym and has a torrid affair with her new personal trainer (who, go figure, is also an MME fighter).

The novella and its sequel top make the top 100 on Amazon's erotica e-book charts...

You've figured out where I'm going with this, yeah? Look who came out as being Gretchen Lane:

Sweetmotherofgod. I think this truly wonderful (I LOVE people who just say 'fuck-it' and do what they want, damn what society thinks - explains why I love Broke Straight Boys so much), although the biography he's posted at the above link is actually breaking my heart a little bit.

I noticed a lot of my old schoolmates making snarky Facebook remarks about Sonny over the last few weeks and didn't know why. Now I do. Me, I just want to give him a hug or buy him a non-alcoholic beverage or something.

Long Live Gretchen Lane!

I think you should really make an effort to reach out to him and tell him how you feel. BTW, very cool story; thanks for sharing!

Well, he did just accept my Facebook request this a.m!

To my knowledge, I never talked to him*. He was just too scary to me. I was an innnnnnnnnnnnocent kid at 13/14 years of age. Innocent in a way I don't think would be possible today unless raised completely indoors w/o magazines, TV or the internet; locked in a room with just a set of Little House books for company.

But I'll think about something brief but nice to say and send him a PM soon.

* did have a run-in with one of his mean girl girlfriends in 7th grade, tho'.
