This excellent vintage gay porn film from the Theater Library of gay sex classic films was directed by Tom DeSimone, maker of The Idol. Also issued as The Trouble Shootersin 1982 and formerly titled The Harder They Fall, this is the dramatic story of how the lives of a porno photographer and his rugged lover are disrupted when a former beau (Eric Clement) from France comes to visit the United States.
The first segment ignites as the lovers go at it. Both Dan Gentry (as Jim) and Bob Blount, the lovers, are oral enthusiasts, including hot ass suckers and 69ers. Gentry humps his lover's hole in a romantic finale. Bob Blount (Larry) fucks his old flame on a pool table when their reunion ignites passion, and the Frenchman sets out to break up the duo. They end 69ing cocks on top of the green felt of the pool table and Blount shows versatility by plowing the foreigner.
The photographer later shoots a hairy beefcake, Bob Damon, and a bodybuilder, Dan Pace, in a still photo session that leads to sex. Here, titplay, finger sucking, ball sucking, and 69ing leads to a missionary fuck session. Bob later hires one of his models, Guy DeSilva, to seduce the Frenchman in order to keep his relationship from breaking up and to relieve his lover's discontent. By a swimming pool, Bob photos the whole action: oral action on an air mattress to butt-humping poolside. Jim gets even with his lover and the foreigner in a final scene, the hottest in the video. Macho men in a "skin flick mystery with muscle," said Weekly Entertainment Magazine of this film. At the unhappy ending of this realistic drama, the audiences' sympathies are divided tauntingly between the lovers and the foreign intruder. As usual, director DeSimone provides good acting without skimping on the sex. The cast is well-built and breath-takingly good-looking. The trio of stars are adept both sexually and dramatically.
Shot originally on film, the production as seen in the current video has lost some of its vibrant color in the transfer to tape, but the explicit action, the honest acting, and the intelligent script remain ideal models for a story film

Bob Mizer - Court Declares Nudity Not Obscene

It’s nudity, but is it art? The U.S. Supreme Court deemed the question irrelevant with its legalization of sexual nudity in April 1968. But in the years leading up to the ruling, the representation of the male form in media had to have ‘socially redeeming value’ in order to avoid any persecution.
Now, the Bob Mizer Foundation is releasing a new DVD that examines Mizer’s portrayal of the male physique in the decade between the Supreme Court’s ruling in 1957 that media could be labeled obscene unless they included any ‘socially redeeming values’ and the same court’s legalization of male nudity during one of the most tumultuous years in the country’s history -- the year after the Summer of Love and before the Stonewall riots. The new compilation of Mizer’s films, titled “Socially Redeeming Value,” will be released May 20.
The DVD’s release comes on the heels of last year’s DVD, “Bob Mizer: Court Declares Nudity Not Obscene, 1967-71,” an 11-film compilation of Mizer movies produced in the months directly before and after the court redefined obscenity.
The 1957 arrival of Beat poet Allen Ginsberg’s famous poem “Howl” in the halls of the U.S. Supreme Court signaled a landmark in the fight for artists to be free to express themselves in their work. Especially in the midst of 1950s America’s puritanical aversion to sex and the male form, Ginsberg’s victory set the stage for the evolution of Mizer’s own work. Finally, male nudity could be portrayed in media, but not erotically – it had to have “redeeming social importance.
In the years that followed, photographers and filmmakers like Mizer presented nude males in setting such as nudist camps, promoting them as pristine models for robust health and good living. Desert camps such as Ramona Ranch, Hemet and Homeland were the settings for these films that showed nude male models in an unerotic light. By the middle of the decade, male nude photography and films at nudist camps were highly popular, going to distributors like Wyngate and Bevins (one of the first porn mogul companies), setting the stage for the golden age of pornography in the early and mid-1970s.
Five years later, Miller v. California would lead the Supreme Court to develop its Three-Prong Obscenity Test, which measured whether materials could be labeled obscene: 1. If the “average person” in any given community could find that the material appealed to his or her prurient interests, 2. If the work depicts sexual conduct in a patently offensive way, and 3. If the work lacks any “literary, artistic, political or scientific value.” The court ruled that the work could be considered obscene if it met all three criteria.
Trailers and clips for “Socially Redeeming Value” will be released on Bobmizer and the foundation’s social media pages in the coming days before the DVD’s rollout in late May. The foundation will accept preorders beginning later this week.
The Bob Mizer Foundation seeks to raise awareness and appreciation of Mizer’s photographs and films produced over the span of his career of more than 50 years.
I will only say easy to see visually as pics show & many different scene, some have sound worth watching to the end. Pics don't show all the scenes esp the last very different scene, so I added 2 pics. All the players are identified at the end of each scene.

As I mentioned previously on this thread, I had never heard of Bob Miser or AMG, until I began renting video tapes at Gay Treasures bookstore on Hudsom Street in Greenwich Village in the eighties. After renting all the William Higgins and main stream gay porn, I dug deeper and discovered the “specialty tapes” including Bob Mizer’s work. I had no clue until then what he had been doing for decades. He was an unsung pioneer in the gay adult entertainment world.
TY for that info Mike, I ,too, did not know or come across him until I found these videos. I can only imagine what obstacles and suffering he went thru. But he leaves us these and other monuments to his work & the players whom he documented.
