That show had such a gay male following that there was a gay porn parody of the television show entitled "The Dicks of Hazzard" which was both very funny and very hot. The advertising on the gay porn cassette cover asked "Which one of the boys is the bottom?" As expected, it was the blond gay porn model portraying blond John Schneider's character! In some ways that TV series was ahead of its time, although as discussed above in its glorification of the Confederate sympathies of young Southern men it obviously was not. Wow Tampa, that pic brought back memories!

It was a really good casting of co-lead characters. They were dissimilar enough to give a nice contrast. But their chemistry together was so good that they really complemented each other well. And while few would openly admit it at the time, they did have some homoerotic undertones. I have to agree that it brings back some good memories for me also. :)
