Hey guys...

just so there is no confusion
I wasnt just starting this thread to complain about my life, lol i actually have it REALLY really well compared to most people at my age, yeah there is stress here and there, but i was just giving you guys my reasoning behind my absents on the site. not saying im not stressed either, very much so the opposite. i just dont want people thinking im some prissy nansy boy who bitches when one thing goes wrong. lol

Im fully aware that my situation is lucky compared to others, and i love my life and wouldnt change a thing about it. this hardship right now will pass and it will make the grass on the other side seem a whole lot greener and softer when i get there. :D but i am sooooo ready for this moving crap to be over.

I know you are not a complainer Blake. And I'm glad you realize that you have a pretty good life right now. We could start a whole thread just on roommate and apartment situations that went badly for us. I'm sure all of us have a story. Or three. haha Yet somehow we all made it through. :)

I too am very sorry about you losing out on a dog that you had already formed an attachment to. I'm sure he knew that you cared for him greatly. And isn't that the point? He will carry a part of you with him for the rest of his life.

Between traveling and hopefully filming, your schedule is very full right now. Once Pride season winds down you will have fewer weekends away from home and more time to bond with, and take care of, a pet. You hint that one of your roommates is not very conscientious or reliable in the upkeep of an apartment. So maybe a pet would not be as well cared for by others while you are away traveling this summer and fall. The heart was willing and open, but the timing for a pet apparently just wasn't right. You'll find the perfect dog for you eventually I'm sure.

In the telling of the above I was reminded of the book "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. It tells the story of this cherubic blonde little boy who travels from one tiny planet to another on a continuous journey. There are lessons to be learned and life experiences to be gained on each of the little planets. He meets people who teach him things about morality, philosophy, materialism, human nature...all in the form and vocabulary of a children's book. (Yet one would be wrong to assume that it is only a children's book) When he senses that it's time to move on to another realm he leaves that planet to cross over to the next one. The little prince is constantly evolving and becoming wiser along the way.

On one planet he meets a fox in the wild. The fox asks him from a distance to tame him and become his friend. He explains to the prince that if he comes to the same spot each day and sits a little closer to the tree where he is hiding, that eventually they will form a bond and become unique to each other. Rather than the prince being just another human he will become special to the fox. And the fox will become special to the boy over all the other foxes on the planet. The fox tells him that when he sees a field of wheat that it will not be an ordinary wheat field anymore that he passes with hardly a glance. Because it will remind him of his friend's beautiful blonde hair.

The prince tells him that he will eventually have to leave this realm but the fox insists that he tame him anyway. The prince does come to the field every day and sits a little closer to the fox under the tree to gain his trust. The bond grows between them. They each tame the other. The fox becomes unique to the prince over all the other random animals and foxes in the world and the prince becomes unique to the fox among all the other humans.

The time comes when the prince must move on to the next planet. He goes to the fox to say goodbye. The fox tells him that he will now cry. The prince is upset and perplexed. The fox indeed begins to cry. The prince tells the fox that he never meant to harm him. He asks the fox why he wanted to be tamed if it would lead to him being so upset when they had to part. He says that this taming has done the fox no good at all. "It has done me good", said the fox, "because [now I have] the color of the wheat fields."

Le Petit Prince is my very favorite book in the world. I've read it many times over the years. My father gave me a copy when I first started studying French. That copy is in English. I went on to read it later in French many times. I haven't pulled it off the shelf in years, but I think I will tonight. I need an old friend today. Thanks, Tampa.

the traveling was one of the reasons why i had to give her up, i knew all the responsibilities and with pride tour being at its peak it was not smart of me to continue to have her especially with being between apartments.

Oh yeah, my roommates already dead to me. lol note that im miving into a one bedroom 1,100 s/ft. super excited, if they would actually let me move in!! lol they keep finding new things electrical pushing back my move in date.

Blake, be thankful they are finding electrical issues and fixing them for you, BEFORE you move in. It would really suck, and be very dangerous, to flip a light switch and end up with a fire.:frown:
