Today concludes the 2023 Carnival season which began on Three Kings Day January 6th! In New Orleans the Mardi Gras parading season started on Friday February 10th and concludes today, Mardi Gras Day. Mardi Gras Day is always 47 days before Easter, so its date moves from year to year. With its spectacular parades, great food and partying, it is the most dramatic change of seasons of the year. The local gay community is very active in Mardi Gras New Orleans and held its world reknown Bourbon Street costume contest earlier today at Noon CST. Happy Mardi Gras to all Broke Straight Boys members!
