Thanks Jon. I'm not familiar with the concert, the band or the song but it sounds good, as I am about to embark on my own New York Morning, a pretty one at that with the sun shining and temps in the low 80's. I hope you are having a nice day in Great Britain!

Thanks Mike. I always enjoy Glastonbury weekend and to celebrate I have bought myself a £35 bottle of champagne. So it's now a case of juggling the concert with the soccer and the champagne lol..

If you really need help I can probably be there in a few hours

No need to juggle it up. Mix is all together - watch the soccer at the concert while gulping down the champagne. People wouldn't have any idea what you're hooting and hollering to, just that you are having a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :par50:

Hey, why did my post show up twice? I only clicked the button once.

You see, Jon. With all that champagne, you made the site hic up!

Well it turned up quite different. As well as the champagne I got a couple of bottles of cheapo Cava for £7 each. I noticed when I got back from the supermarket that they had only charged me for one bottle ha ha. And that's not the end of it either. On my way in I popped into the ATM area and got myself some cash out and the machine gave me £20 too much. Unfortunately the machine doesnt have the facility to take it back so I had to keep it.

Jon, of Glastonbury, I know nought (as the Yorkshiremen say). However, it sounds like great fun. (I really loved that "Foster the People" band you shared!)

For my part, if I ever won the lottery, I'd love to take you, Jamie, and Mr. K. to Glyndebourne, to loll on the lawn, and quaff some of that discount champagne ;-)

"A" XOXOXOXOXOXO

Metallica headlined the main Pyramid stage last night. I must admit it was a bit loud for me as I'm not into heavy metal, so I chose to see Jake Bugg and then Bryan Ferry instead. However, they got a great review - see below

Here is Bryan Ferry - He is such a smooth dude and has always been a woman's man and when without Roxy Music, he loves to have women musicians on tour with him.

Here is another clip of jake bugg from last years event

He is a cute kid and I like the song. I'd never heard of him before, and checked his Wikipedia page and found this.

Jake Bugg (born Jake Edwin Charles Kennedy,[1] 28 February 1994) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. His self-titled debut album, largely co-written with songwriter Iain Archer, was released in late 2012 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. His second album, Shangri La, was released in November 2013. His main influences are Don McLean, Donovan, The Beatles, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, and Nick Drake.

He sure is influenced by some of the greats!

Jon ~

I love Roxy Music, but have a bad history, with them. When I was 16 and first at uni, I was at this music-party with a bunch of my friends from the music-school, and this fat nasty drunken boy called Simon ~ he looked a lot like a fat, flushed, 19-year-old version of Andrew Lloyd Webber (I never forget a grudge, even after 40 years) got all up in my face, and started shoving and pushing me, around. (Why, I do not know. Simon was just notoriously aggressive, with everybody: even his friends didn't like him, all that much. He once forced his girlfriend to suck a banana and say she loved him while her mouth was full, to make his 'friends' laugh, if that gives you any idea. . . . He was a real brute.)

Then he stamped (hard) on my new shiny Oxfords. . . and being a poor farm kid, I have always been sensitive about having nice shoes. I said, "Step on my shoes, again, Simon, and I'll deck you." He stamped HARDER - totally scuffed the shoes - and so I took a swing, and knocked him out COLD. (There was polite applause, in the room, at that point.)

Hope it goes without saying, Jon, that - even though I'm a MAD CELT - I've never done anything like that, before or since. (I'm mostly quite peaceable: fat Simon just pushed me TOO FAR.) Anyway, the song that was playing, at that moment, was, "More than this."

P.S. Never, EVER step on my shoes. . .LOL!!! ;-) I don't take kindly, to that ;-)
