Getting To Know Jacob Durham

I watched the BTS of the latest model, Jacob, to be appearing on the site, and while Sha told us he did a "few" scenes in the past, if you google him, you will see that a "few" is an exaggeration as much like Drake Tyler who was featured here a while back, Jacob has also been around the block more than a few times. From his interview, he seems like a nice man, but he is in no way what I am into seeing on Broke Straight Boys At the end of his interview he takes off his shirt and he is a muscle bound type and I'm sure some will be turned on by his body, but I will skip his solo and wait for him to be paired with a model who I enjoy.

I also found it interesting that he had mentioned that "yesterday" was Thanksgiving, so there was a quick turnaround as in less than three weeks we are seeing his scenes. Good luck to Jacob and I hope you earn your money to buy your Jeep, and for the fans into his type, I hope you enjoy him, but he is not for me.

He's not my type either, Mike. There just seems to be a point where a toned, muscular body becomes "pumped" and just isn't attractive to me anymore. I searched him on Pornhub and saw some of his early work, and I like him more then. He's a damn handsome young man! And it sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders. I checked his Twitter page (In know I said I wouldn't do that again!) and he keeps pretty busy, so I'm sure he was well compensated for his appearance here. He certainly isn't afraid of hard work (pun intended)!

I think Broke Straight Boys has a particularly difficult niche to fill, and with publishing three updates a week the well occasionally will run low. They need to "think outside the niche" once in a while to make their commitments. I can live with that. I'll definitely watch Jacob's solo because he's got a nice dick. I know we don't cast porn models on personality alone, but if we did this guy would be a shoo-in. I liked his directness and it was obvious from his answers that he isn't a fool. I especially liked the fact that he called sha on some of his stupid questions, and wasn't flumoxxed by them. Sha usually does better in these bts interviews; perhaps he didn't have a chance to prep for this one due to the holiday.

I like models whose bodies are nicely toned, but I'm not a fan of overly muscled gym rat bodies. Hopefully his dick is truly 8" and not measured by the same method as Flip or we'll see a 6 incher - lol !!!. I'll watch his solo because I watch all episodes since that's what I pay for; but I'll be more interested in seeing him with a partner, and hopefully it will be someone who will allow Jacob to show us what he's got as a performer.


An aside: When a model like this comes along, I get a feeling of sadness because I think of my dear friend mikey and how far from his ideal of what a Broke Straight Boys model should be this type of model is. This really came to the fore in my mind when recently mikey started the thread about past models. And one of the models he cited was Mike Robbins (may he rest in peace). So I watched the one mikey posted and then went to MR's (actually MJ's for Mike Jones which he is called, but more on that later) model page and watched several others. When I first joined Broke Straight Boys in 2011, I went back and watched virtually all of the previous scenes, and over the years have re-watched many of them again and again (and sadly this has accelerated over the past year or so). And I have come to the conclusion that of all the models, for me Mike R is the quintessential Broke Straight Boys Not only because he reminded me of so many of the hustlers I encountered during my long coming out period, but also he fits perfectly the criteria for the site: he was always broke; he definitely was straight in his personal life (gay for pay professionally); and despite his age he was still a boy at heart. I think that's why so many forumites liked and/or loved him.

But the world has sadly changed now and the Mike R's of the world are few and far between. And I know from what all of us have heard and read the web porn industry is struggling. But I would hope and urge management to keep the criteria of the site in mind and strive to remember them in its never ending quest to find models for this site.

And speaking of Mike Robbins - a request to management: With all the changes in the layout of the site, how about going into the models' information and changing Mike's name to Robbins and remove the Jones appellation currently used for his last name. Referring to him as Jones is an insult to his memory as one of Broke Straight Boys's most popular models.

I will say pretty much the same thing I did about flip. No thanks. Not my type. From the huge abouts of porn models out there it doesn't make sense to pick these two guys for Broke Straight Boys These types of guys usually aren't that popular. The guy has done a lot of gay porn at other places. I think he is a good example of the recent need to recruit models with professional "experience". As the scenes become more gay porn with no pretense that the models are actually straight, the result is that we have a lot of pretty good gay porn, but none of that erotic impression that these guys are stretching their boundaries by doing something they have not done before. There used to be more of the element of seduction that I always found to be a turn on. I kind of miss that.

I said the exact same thing a couple weeks ago. We've all pretty much come to terms with the fact that the "straight" part of Broke Straight Boys is mostly gone now, but can we at least stay a little closer to the "boy" part? Early 20s is okay -- 26, 27 and beyond, not so much. That's what CollgeDudes is for. And with the internet and how quickly and easily you can find things, "fudging" on an experienced model's age or background doesn't work (although I see Flip's age is now listed as 26, and not 18 or 22!).

Today was a work day for me, and I am catching up on the many posts today, working from the oldest to the newest. I read where Buckeye now cries from some of the "inspirational" things we post.

I guess I am an "odd duck" because I actually have tears in my eyes reading what Stowe has just said about the late great Mike Robbins. I loved Mike, maybe the way Johnny loved Paul, and Stowe's post just made me very emotional. I am a strange dude. lol But thank you so much for what you said Stowe. It actually means a lot to me.

I honestly don't have the whole answer. We actually lost two very popular models from that era, both at a young age. First Dustin died in a very public way. It was actually caught on video and posted on this forum. I never watched it, but Dustin whose name I believe was Andrew Grande, as the articles appeared using his real name. He was in a bar and caught with some marijuana somewhere in the south and he was chased by police with dogs, as I recall, and he tried to swallow the pot and choked on it and I think it was caught on video as one of those reality shows like COPS was filming the "bust". What a horror.

With Mike, there were some clues but Broke Straight Boys management lead by David and Mark told us that out of respect to his family, they preferred to keep it quiet. I know that Mike had issues with one of the disorders like ADD, ADHD, OR ADT (ATTENTION DEFICIT TRAIT) and he told us on the forum that rather than take the drugs prescribed, he self medicated with pot. He had stopped filming porn here and we were informed on the forum of his sad passing, but no details were ever confirmed. Very very sad, indeed.

Tampa has a much better memory for detail and perhaps he will fill in some of the blanks.
