Thank you so much David for the most complete and transparent explanation of the hiring process that I can ever remember by a member of management with us on the forum.Let me explain how the interview process works. For Broke Straight Boys, its very challenging because we have to make sure to cast the right guys for that site. Its more challenging then ever and a lot more stress on my part because I am the first person to do the interview.
We advertise for models. I have separate ads going on. One ad specifically targets guys that are straight curious, gay4pay, bisexual guys that are straight acting and that is designed to find guys for Broke Straight Boys Broke Straight Boys is a very unique site and its really a niche site because we just can't hire anyone for that site.
The other ad is geared specifically for College Boy Physicals/College Dudes sites and on those sites its not important if the guy is straight or gay or whatever.
When I guy applies they send in there pics, if we like there look the first thing I do is contact them for a phone interview. During the phone interview, especially for guys applying to do Broke Straight Boys..we get all kinds of crazy feedback, I mean everything from wearing a mask, to not showing there face or they only want to do a solo scene or they only want to have sex with transgender models (which our ad says nothing about transgender or anything of the above).
During the phone interview we discuss if they have any prior experience on camera or in real life, I ask them about social media, and we discus other things like travel, time off, and I give them a run down of the week and we discus testing for STD/HIV and covid. So I can only take the word of what this person is telling me when they apply. Also keep in mind, I have there real name so if I do search there real name on social media, the boys that are applying for Broke Straight Boys, 9 out of 10 times, there social media shows them with girls and they live a "straight" life style so those are the guys I get excited over and set them up with the 2nd interview.
Shannon does the 2nd interview, Mark and Sha both look at his pics that I send over and set up the 2nd interview with the guy applying. At that time, Sha does a live Skype or FaceTime interview. This is super important because Shannon can pick up there body language and he pretty much goes over the same thing I do on the phone interview. At which that point, Shannon will approve the guy to appear on Broke Straight Boys and then I take over and follow up with the approved model to set them up with dates and travel.
At this point in the game, all we know is what the model tells us. We have there real name and yes I do look up there social media and what it looks is they relatively live a straight lifestyle.
So once I book the flight, I have to pray that they do arrive. Either they flake out and don't arrive or they do show up. Then I have to pray they clear the STD/HIV covid test..either they don't clear or they clear. Once they arrive, everyone has cleared...we film for the week.
That is when we find out the true nature of the guys. By then, its too late because we already invested time and money into that model and filming so whatever happens thereafter, the truth comes out after the fact and with that, anything can happen and we find out if they had another stage name, filmed for another studio and such.
Some guys apply and they are honest and they tell us the truth, we prefer that because at least we know how to film and handle there back story...just like Jesse, he appeared on CF sites...he did at least 10 scenes with them...and then he filmed with us and since then, he has filmed with several others, but at least i know he is gay4pay and that is okay. Same with Bentley and perhaps Ethan or many others but at times some guys just pawn themselves off as first timers never did this before which really is not right.
I can understand why they do this...its simple. There is a lot of money to be made, and they are worried if they do tell us the truth, they will not get hired which is not true, lets face it and be realistic, its not easy hiring guys for any porn sites, its not like everyone hot guy is lining up doing this type of work, I can only place ads and hope the right guys come along and apply. But if your desperate for money and you need to make money, they are going to say and do whatever they can to get there foot in the door and film to earn the money, and they don't care about the site, they just care about how many scenes, how much they can make and after they are finished filming with our studio, they move on to the next studio and film and say whatever they want to say to get hired there to make the money so can you really blame them? or us being the studio or the management, it is what it is these days.

Thank you for the kind words about my mom, although I didn't mention it on Youtube...my mother passed away November 22, 2020 and then my partners mother (Eddie) passed almost 90-days thereafter on February 20, 2021. So we lost both our Mothers very close to each other and we were both close to our Mom's. Eddie's mother was like a 2nd Mom to me so it was very upsetting to say the least.
We are still very sad, its like a roller-coaster of emotions..some days we are fine and doing great, but then we hear a song, or see pics of our Mom's and then we cry, and then back to normal and a few days pass by and we cry again. I guess this is part of life and growing older and this part of life sucks...LOL.

I don't have the same high expectations of the guys who film for this site or any other porn site as you do Tampa. I of course wish the best circumstances for David & Eddie as I did for Sha & Bryce when they did the filming in Atlanta. However the guys who are interested in filming porn are often down on their luck and many come from dysfunctional families as David has explained to us. The fact that sitting around for a "family" dinner is something out of their range of prior experiences helps explains why many of these guys do not have what we might consider common courtesies. And the more I read about these guys the more I understand why Sha largely used "agency" models during his latter years filming in Atlanta. Although many of us want to see brand new to porn guys, they can be a wild card for the studios, by either not showing up or acting out once they arrive to the filming house. It is a safer bet to hire guys who are proven to be reliable after being vetted by the agency.I'm so sorry I didn't have a clue about David's recent YT video until today. Wow. So much heartache in the personal life. Coinciding with too much drama at the studio.
Grey came across as so personable and upright. It's a shame to find out he has such a dark side. I could have forgiven (eventually) the fact that he did work at one or more studios, even if I would not have liked it. But all of the other shenanigans on top of that is really over the top. It really speaks to his character and lack of integrity and responsiblity as an adult. Albeit a young adult. I agree that he will probably keep trying to sell his services to some other unsuspecting studios under yet another stage name. Whether it works for him or not is a different story.
But I'm very pleased that Ethan did not get caught up in this and that he's still in the good graces of the site.
I think David has it right where most of us members would feel about the matter on principle. We've already had a situation where a former director "Clay" (of the Broke Straight Boys-2 era) was secretly using Broke Straight Boys models, Broke Straight Boys sets and Broke Straight Boys furniture to film content for his own personal website (to be set up at a later time) for strictly his own personal profit. And we rightfully (in my mind at least) considered that outrageous at best and criminal at worst. In principle Grey has done pretty much the same thing, only to a much lesser degree.
Imagine if a model waited for the grownups in charge to go to bed and filmed himself doing a commerical for another gay porn site. Or plural sites. Like, "If you guys liked me here on Broke Straight Boys..you can now follow me on my next site XYZ. And you can also see me on these 3 other websites that I'll list by name." If that ever happened, everybody would be going nuts. "You can't use Broke Straight Boys property to do commericals for yourself and other gay sites. The nerve!"
David's right that when they're flying out round-trip on the company dime, getting tested on the company dime, being housed, and being fed very well, taken on outings locally, being paid for their work on set...they do not get to use and treat company property as if it's their own personal property. Everything in the house and studio gets treated with respect. For instance as a model of the site (and a guest in the house) of course you're allowed to play videogames on the playstation. (If there is one.) But that doesn't mean you're allowed to throw it against the wall and break it if you get upset...or try to steal it and take it home with you. It's not your property to do with as you da** well please. The same goes for the filming sets. Boundaries!
I tried to make this same point with a model in here several years ago. And I'll try to reiterate these other concepts and principles again here. In talking about why some of us members get upset over the concepts of company property being abused, models getting paid and not giving their best effort in scenes, models being rude and disrespectful to their directors and other staff, models being disrespectful to other models... Even times for instance if a BTS vid is being filmed with models in the creature comforts of a current Broke Straight Boys house, and suddenly 3 out of 5 models decide they can't be bothered engaging in conversation for the benefit of members to enjoy...so they just bury their noses in their cellphones as an F/U to the watching audience. Granted, these are more extreme and infrequent examples.
I'll preface this by saying that in the current Broke Straight Boys house there is a very clear distinction between what is company property and what is clearly and unequivocally the private property of David and Eddie. Obviously also some of us members feel an emotional investment in the site that others do not. And that's fine. Sorry for the long lead in. Here goes. I promise. haha
When we talk about the concept of the "company dime", "company funds", "company money", "corporate money"...in this kind of business where member subscriptions are pretty much the only revenue stream... "Company money" is really and truly just the paying members' money that's been consolidated. So the cameras were paid for by paying members. The plane tickets are paid for by members. The STD and Covid testing to keep them safe on the job is paid for by members. The food they're eating at every meal is being paid for by members. The A/C they're enjoying in the heat of Georgia or Florida...paid for by members. Most importantly the salary for their work is being paid for by members. The accommodations and the roof over their heads in the Broke Straight Boys quarters...paid for by members. You get the idea.
So collectively we paid for the film set. While we're not co-owners of all that property, we are indeed all co-investors in it. Obviously one or two members did not "buy" the camera, or the futon, or the bed. But collectively we sure did. So the models need to treat property that has been/is/or will be paid for by us...with respect. As I see it, we pay the models out of our money. Not in the truest sense out of "company money". Now if "the company" is invested in the stock market and has what it can truly call its own other "private" revenue streams of positive cash flow, that's a different story. haha But not so much for businesses like these that have very few (if any) other revenue sources.

I accept that the kind of guys who turn me on are often living on the fringes of society and are basically looking to make money more than anything else. And it does not shock me if they try to run a side deal, even filming in the studio after hours for their own personal benefit. I am not shocked or even offended by their actions. Of course I also understand and agree that when a model screws the studio, the studio has every right to ban the model from ever returning, but it is all part of the equation in my opinion. My personal main concern is a hot guy giving a hot performance while having sex. Being a nice guy is not the thing I look for in a scene. Some guys can be both, but as a consumer I will take sexy over being polite.
