Favorite lines in a song

I can promise you
You'll stay as beautiful
With dark hair
And soft skin...forever
Forever

Dear Will... only in your dreams!

That is beautiful Laura!:smiley-love001:

Crap! Just getting back on here and realized the quote didn't post with the song. *sigh*

Here's my favorite part:

This is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took

And then you take that love you made
And stick it in to some
Someone else's heart
Pumping someone else's blood

And walking arm in arm
You hope it don't get harmed
But even if it does
You'll just do it all again

Regina Spektor- On the Radio

When my wings feel broken I listen to this song and the chorus makes me think of the people I love and who miraculously love me back and reminds me how very blessed I am...

So take these broken wings
And learn to fly again, learn to live so free
When we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up and let us in

Music doesn't heal broken wings, but it can make them feel less bruised...

LOVE that song, Grace :)

Neil Finns "Turn and Run" - they reckon this is about married life and the love he has for his wife Sharon.

Turn and Run

There's a light overhead
overhead
In the sky overhead
overhead
And I'm with you now in body and music and mind
And we're silent and still
Everything's so out of control tonight
In a plane that's flying fast
At a speed that makes me cry
Have you left me now
To trouble that won't let me lie
I'm awake all the time
You know where I stand
Holding my plastic gun
So turn and run
You cold killers of innocence
Against us there's no defence
Your flash and your wickedness
You can't break our love
Tie my hands behind my back
Put a gag on top of my mouth
But I won't give you up
Till silverware's covered in dust
And my shoes fall apart
And the tumbleweed runs
Over my desert heart
So turn and run
You cold killers of innocence
Against us there's no defence
Your flash and your wickedness
Will surely bring you down again
Somehow we must stay afloat
Won't give in to the undertow
Something's you will never know
You can't break our love
You can pull us down
But you can't break our love

Thanks for that, Jon. I love anything Neil and Tim Finn and had no idea those particular lyric were about Neil's wife. They're beautiful...

Lana Del Rays "Cola"...The very first line is, "My Pussy tastes Like Pepsi Cola..."Cracks me up EVERY time!

This song made a big impression in my teenage years. It changed my view of the USA, from being one big rich country to a more realistic look.

"Village Ghetto Land"

Dear Robert,

I know this isn't a "song linking" thread, but you reminded me of another beautiful and haunting Blues-like song by the King of Rock and Roll. It was released in 1969. As I say, it's sad, and yet hauntingly beautiful in its own way. It's also a piece of Americana.

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
Cause if there's one thing that she don't need
It's another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto
