If he starts to ask too many of the kind of questions you don't feel comfortable answering, turn it around, ask about him, if you ask a couple of questions chances are he'll keep talking. A lot of guys love to talk about themselves. If things get too personal ask if he likes sports or has a favorite team or if he has any hobbies or what he does for fun. He could be nervous about the whole thing too. Even when I feel confident I'm always nervous on a first meeting or first date, hell I'm nervous on the first 3 or 4 dates. There is a talk show host here in the states, Steve Harvey he preaches that women have all the power in a date because they have what the man wants and they should never forget it.

I gotta say the the fact that he didn't pay shocked me more afterwards and especially because he didn't even pretend to want to pay for my drink. Worst, he then went on to say he didn't have enough for another drink, counting his money when he was the one insisting to grab another drink!

Why not find some real life friends too... start relating with woman your age. What are your hobbies? You could join a club... go places. Make yourself feel comfortable around other woman. Try to make friends...
What you have to offer is your brain, you are very well educated, your English language skills impress me. It's hard to find a French that speaks English even in Paris!
You could do with some humorhelp! Start making your life fun...

I'm working on letting some girlfriends in at work. I'm trying to stop myself from putting up walls like I have in the past. I have 3 great friends at work that I'm working on letting in as I said, maybe ask them if they wanna do something outside of work...
It's just that they either have kids or a boyfriend and I don't know what I can bring to the party because being always sick, I don't go out much so I don't have anything to say when they ask me what I did over the weekend, for example.
Thanks for the nice comment on my english. I actually worked a lot on myself and on bringing down the walls that surround me over the last couple of years.
I worked as an interpreter for actors, at two conventions for tv shows (one of my passion), for free of course.
It was amazing and I'd love to more stuff like that.

Here's my trouble, the ideas have to come from you. Do you live near a city? Places were singles can meet? Half is woman, girlfriend material, the other half is man, boyfriend material. You should not be doing what I say... I merely try to inspire you to think creative yourself.
My advice would always be make small steps.

I like your ideas.
I should join a photography class since I love photography, or another club like that but being always sick limits my options.
I'm addicted to tv shows, movies... So I should try and do something with that...
Go with your intuition.... it'll be right 90% Let your intuition answer your questions and do the talking for you.

I wish I could take on creative writing. Unfortunately, I'm not as articulated as I'd like to be. I wouldn't be able to write something, much less a story for the life of me.
My lack of imagination, and most of all, my trouble expressing myself the way other people do, is something I actually hate about myself. I always complain to my sisters about it. I'm legit unable to sum up an episode of a show I like or explain the plot to a movie to someone. I feel like a guy when I talk/write.
I always use the same words... I'm unable to write something meaningful. I know because I tried.
I would love to write stories for Literoica but not knowing what I'm talking about, I'd feel stupid doing it.

It is a lot harder to make friends when you health problems, I can certainly understand that. I have limits what I can do, I spend a lot of time at home alone, friends fade away they don't always want to come and sit at someone's place or they want to do something I can't do. They still care but I don't fit into their style anymore and when they don't see you often they kind of forget about you. After you say no to a bunch of activities they stop asking.
Yes, women like to talk about sex and porn. Just look at all the women on here. I worked in a plant that had a lot of women. Sometimes I would be the only man or 1 of 2 or 3 in a dept of 20 women. Most of those women talked way dirtier than the men, there were times they surprised me and made me blush.

Why are we making such an issue about dating sites ? Channel 4 UK currently have series going on called the Undatables. This series is about handicapped and other less than perfect specimens of the human beings seeking out dates. It's sad but very encouraging in some parts. Doubt if you guys can get to see it though

Milla, just by reading your posts I think you'd be quite good at creative writing, and you don't have to have experience in something, especially erotica, to be able to write about it, all you really need is a vivid imagination. Generally erotic fiction or any other fiction for that matter is a far removed from reality, that's what makes it so compelling.
When you attempted to write, did you know almost all novels and movies are written around a standard 'formula' ? All an author or screen-writer does is creatively fill in the blanks.
Google Susie Bright and you'll find lots of how-to info on writing erotic fiction.
